I finally got myself to be able to sit down and really read his book today. Personally knowing parts of Tyler’s story and then finally reading it from his, Tony, and Kelly’s perspectives was awesome..can’t recommend this book more and it was great hearing Tyler’s words today.. we miss you friend!!

Tyler Trent was an incredible young man. I've learned more from him reading this book about a real relationship with Jesus through suffering than I ever expected. His legacy will be long remembered. He is a true Indiana hero.

Being a Purdue University graduate I am extremely biased in the review of this book. I won't lie that at times it was tough read and other parts were truly inspiring. I am not the most religious guy around but the way Trent talked about how he accepted God's plan was amazing I do believe we were all put on earth to do something and sooner or later you will find it. His was to galvanize the college football and college sports fanatics around the world to try and help find a cure for cancer. If you are struggling with anything then please find someone to talk to. It could be God, it could be your spouse, a best friend a parent. Just talk. Enjoy your time with your family. This probably wasn't the smartest time for me to read this book since this month is the 11 year anniversary of when I lost my sister to cancer. I still believe that she and our Mom are looking down on our family trying to help us stay positive. Find your anchor and use it. Make a difference in the world. Small words can make a big difference. Finally let bygones be bygones and make up with someone you miss. Nothing is worse than not having someone still in your life because of a stupid argument. Take care and good luck.

Wow, what a book! I felt that when that innocent 14 year old boy was told he had cancer. When he wanted to give up on life because “what’s the point?” When he conquered his fears and determined to honour God and trust Him with his second cancer diagnosis.
How can someone with such a awful illness be able to view it in the positive light of being able to help others in the same situation? Tyler amazed me in more than one way of his bravery and determination to make the most of osteosarcoma, but he also amazed me in his writing ability. If he was still alive now and hadn’t gone through osteosarcoma,he would be making his mark on the world because that’s who Tyler was. He was an amazing person who touched every person in his life. His testimony inspired me and made me want to do everything I can in this world while I can.

What a story, one that was admittedly tough to get through. I, like most of America, discovered Tyler part way through his battle and was rooting for him and felt inspired by him the moment I learned of him. His drive and spirit made me proud to be a Boilermaker. It was devastating to learn of his passing on New Year's Day and when this book came out I knew I had to read it right away to learn more of his story. Reading his firsthand words (and those of his parents too) just connected him to me further. To learn what all he had been through, and what he continued to go through, low blow after low blow...and to hear his voice and read his words about how he just managed to keep going...it's going to be a long time before I feel as inspired by someone as much as Tyler did. Both during his journey and continuing now that he is gone. God bless Tyler Trent. What a powerful young man he was.

Wow. Like many others, I heard about Tyler Trent "the super fan" with amazing faith, positivity, and cancer and cried when he lost his battle with the ugly disease. I was so excited to read his story in this book, but this book was so much more. I won't lie, it was hard to get through and I had to set it down a few...or more...times to have a good cry, but I'll probably read it again and again because it is so moving and inspirational. If you've ever had a loss of faith or any moments of doubt, just read this. You don't have to be a Boilermaker, Purdue fan, or even a sports fan for this to be a must read. That being said, Boiler UP. Hammer down. Tyler strong.

It is pretty hard for me to review this book objectively. Tyler Trent, the Trent family, and their story is inspirational. And this book gives a good insight into their lives and the effects of pediatric cancer. There were a lot of really impactful moments. However, I couldn't help feeling that a lot of the book was just bloated. I get it, given the circumstances. They weren't going to have a full books worth of Tyler's thoughts. Some of the added perspectives were very good, and they helped paint a picture of a young man who meant a whole lot to a whole lot of people. Unfortunately, some of it seemed a little less critical.
At the end of the day, I'm glad I read it. Regardless of how I feel about the book itself, the overall story is inspiring. However, I feel the book falls short in some places and that is why I only am giving it 3 stars.

Purdue "superfan" but so much more. Inspirational story of a young man who faced his battle against cancer head-on and didn't allow it to stop him from living his life to the fullest. He used his platform to spread his faith and the hope of eternity with those he encountered. Well done, good and faithful Tyler.

You may have heard of Tyler Trent, the Purdue student some called “the superfan.” While gravely ill last fall, Tyler predicted on national television that unranked Purdue football team would beat the heavily favored, top 5 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. Which they did.

Had this book recommended by New England Patriot Ja'Whaun Bentley a few years back and finally got around to reading it. I was one of millions of college students that Tyler Trent’s story reached while in school and watching SportsCenter every night. This is a story that transcends mere sports and cancer itself, it is a story of steadfastness and faith when presented with second chances. Tyler’s journey is inspiring because even in the midst of the toughest of battles, he just kept living, he just kept pursuing the experiences that he desired for himself and used the platform that God continued to place him in to tell his story and, therefore, the Gospel.

Though I never had the privilege of meeting Tyler in person, I have prayed for him and his family through his journey. Tyler went to our church and he and his family embody living for Christ and doing everything for his glory. This book is more than Tyler’s story. It is a window in how to live a faith filled life, no matter what storms come.

Extremely moving. What an inspirational read that reminds us what is important in life and death. It was a rollercoaster of emotion - laughing, definitely crying, and getting excited to see so many local references (I’m a boilermaker fan from Carmel)! Tyler Trent’s story is one that will be remembered.

A touching memoir about a boy dying of cancer who refused to be defined by it and lived his life to the fullest until the very end. He managed to get the Purdue University community behind him as he put his heart into being a Boilermaker and into his faith in God. Tyler's chapters were interspersed with chapters written by his parents. It read as an uplifting story rather than a sad one.

Tyler Trent's story is truly compelling for people of all backgrounds and faiths. His faith in Jesus however, is evident in this book and his life. I enjoyed reading about the events and background of his life, story, and short time in the spotlight. I would recommend to any sports fan!

This book is about a young man named Tyler Trent. He was the biggest Purdue fan ever. he even attended Purdue until one fay he was diagnosed with cancer. after that day he was the Purdue football teams spirit and was at every game as there honorary guest. he even predicted they beat Ohio state that year in which they did.
