Alpha couple Richard and Dusty may not fit the world's sense of normal, but they have each other. As a graphic designer who works from home while his pilot husband is off flying the friendly skies, Dusty spends way too many hours alone. Hours spent longing for a family, the family that the orphaned alpha is sadly lacking.
Rich never wanted children, but after a decade with his husband, the alpha is ready to open his heart to a child. Even if children are sticky, dirty, and downright irritating, for the most part. Certainly his own child will be above all that. After all, isn't it all just a matter of proper parenting?
Josiah isn’t in the market for an alpha. He just needs to stay in forward motion and keep his eye on the prize as he juggles two jobs to raise his little sister who became his charge when their parents died. She's smart. Wicked smart. But her school is convinced she's too challenged, that she'll never be able to finish regular high school, let alone college, refusing to recognize she is brilliant though severely dyslexic. To get her the help she needs, Josiah needs money, and a lot of it.
Surrogacy seems his only option. He can't imagine doing it for just anyone, though, and soon, Dusty and Richard become more than just the daddies of the baby he's carrying...
This book is 80k of sweet heat as only Harper B. Cole and Susi Hawke can bring, but don't worry, it's not too... knotty
These authors shouldn't be allowed to publish another book until they take an English 101 course. The multitude of egregious grammatical errors was appalling. So. Many. Mistakes.
Also, I'm not sure what happened in the authors' past to make them despise Keurigs so much, but it must have been traumatic because included were no fewer than a dozen diatribes against the evil that is the single serve coffee machine.
I'm no big fan, but surely coffee pods aren't the demise of society as we know it?
So NO to Keurig, but by all means let two of the MCs get a divorce after ten years of happy marriage so the whiney omega doesn't feel left out.
Apparently, a priestess handfasting ceremony is the next best thing to full legal protection.
This book was decent in the beginning, but it went downhill quickly.
Between the weird pet names, all the talk of stinky feet and puking, and the 7-year-old art genius who talked like a snooty 50-year-old professor emeritus, I lost my appetite.
This was a pretty good read from authors that I have read before. When Josiah decided to become a surrogate for Richard and Dusty his life was devoted to his little sister Sam. He has to raise money to send her to a school that will help her she has some educational needs that aren't being met at her current one. Richard and Dusty are two alphas who have been married for ten years. Dusty is a graphic designer who works from home while Richard is a pilot flying all over the world. Dusty is lonely and wants to start a family. I loved the secondary characters in this book all but one Richard's mother was a real piece of work. These three fall in love and it was so sweet Josiah is used to doing everything only s own since his parents deaths. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
The story had potential, it started ok and interesting but soon Josiah and Sam's characters became irritating. Sam's especially became over the top as the book developed. Don't know if the authors have kids or not, but they wrote this girl's character in such a way that she comes across as a spoiled, overbearing know-it-all... the reason why I gave it two stars, instead of 0, is because of Richard and Dusty, their characters were reasonably well developed and well written, although the authors made Dusty's behaviour that of a Beta's instead of an Alpha's, even though his designation was Alpha. *spoiler alert: The whole divorce situation was ridiculous and pointless, for me it came across not as something they wanted to do for their relationship, but something Dusty and Richard needed to do appease Josiah's insecurities. Honestly this is not a great book overall, the authors could have written an amazing book (because the summary promises indeed an amazing book), but, for me, they failed miserably.
It takes something more than pointless ramblings to impress me. I didn't like this. It's too mild and déjà-vu, and let's not even talk about the pathetic narration. Are the authors native English speakers? If so, I am shocked. I got to read much better omegaverse novels on Wattpad for free... and they were written by teens! Imagination, Authors. Imagination! That's what this story lacks... and if you could get a paid corrector for your next works it would be great. Don't make people pay for your trash!
Oh my goodness gracious! A sweet omega that’s raising his learning disabled little sister with not one but two swoon-worthy Alphas! Glory Be…I’m in heaven!
Josiah is doing everything in his power to give his baby sister the life she deserves after both their parents were killed in an automobile accident. He’s working himself to death to provide a roof over their heads and enough food to fill their bellies…barely. But now the final shoe has dropped. Samantha’s school wants to label her cognitive impaired. He knows this isn’t true but the Special Education department is literally bullying him to sign the false paperwork. But Josiah knows it’s not only a lie but that Sam is actually extremely smart except for her reading. With a little help from her art teacher, who agrees with Josiah behind the school’s back, he gets Samantha tested at Mapleville Academy, a school that specializes in helping kids achieve despite their disability, and discovers she is severely dialectic. The school is eager to accept Sam but their tuition is way over anything Josiah can earn unless he makes the supreme sacrifice and rents out his womb to another couple. Dusty and Richard are two married alphas who have decided to try surrogacy to make their family complete. The problem is two alphas together isn’t the “norm”. Surrogates balk at the couple until they discover the sweet young omega with the heart-wrenching backstory. But can this arrangement mutually benefit all parties?
This hit really close to home for me. Our middle son struggled in his first years of school with his reading. The problem is if a school gives a diagnosis then they are required to provide the services to help that student. Our son was “misdiagnosed” by the school administrators in an effort to cover their butts. His one teacher reminded me so much of Mrs. St. John. She contacted us discreetly and said she believed his problem was that he was severely dyslexic. When we went outside the school system, like Josiah did, we were able to get him the education he not only needed but deserved. Obviously the writers are well educated on this problem. Our journey with our son led me to becoming a special education educator. I learned to fight for the rights of students against administrators for their rightful education.
As many know, I’m a huge fan of polyamorous relationships and a newer fan of mpreg. I got all my boxes crossed off with this wonderful book:
Struggling omega trying to do the right thing against all odds Loving married couple wanting to build a family Strong Alpha “Daddy”
I can’t wait to read more of this wonderful series. I absolutely adored Josiah, Dusty and Richard. I loved watching how they developed a relationship that tied them all together. And watching Dusty and Richard fall in love with Samatha was touching and perfect. I knew Dusty was a softie but watching Richard transform was even more special. I highly recommend this fabulous book!
It started good but then I just started to get bored. And omega was more like a child then an adult with kid and the kid, on the other hand, is acting like she is 50. I am all for spoiled mates and genius kids but this really didn't work for me. And a couple getting a divorce after 10 years of marriage just because of omegas insecurity sounds like the dumbest thing to do when you have two children.
This book is your typical ALPHA/OMEGA dynamic. It's a little strange because one of the alphas in this seems far more like an omega but I actually enjoyed that. Also enjoyed that it was a triad. I like this. It's an easy fluffy read that's written well. There are a couple of editing mistakes but nothing too major. I'm definitely going to read the next one.
Something about this triad just didn't click for me.
1. I felt like Richard and Dusty barely took the time to get to know Josiah. There was hardly any romance between them. Their love for Josiah didn't seem genuine or run very deep.
2. Even if briefly, Richard and Dusty had a lot of one on one moments where I felt more intimacy and love between them. It was like they had a link/connection. I mean they were lovers/partners. Whereas Josiah was pretty much a third wheel/extension. Often times they talk to Josiah very formally like he was a stranger.
2. I felt like Richard and Dusty liked Josiah mainly because he gave them a family. They were more excited about being fathers than having another partner/lover. Richard, especially focused more on building a relationship with Sam than he did Josiah.
3. I didn't like how they bought Sam pets without consulting with Josiah. It was like his opinion didn't matter. Richard and Dusty had a tendency to make plans togehter without including Josiah. It was like Josiah was just living in Richard and Dusty's world.
4. Overall, I wonder if they would really even want/need Josiah if he couldn't/didn't get pregnant. I really don't buy that he was their missing peice. It all fell into place too conveniently.
5. One last thing I want to point out is that Dusty didn't sound like an alpha to me, especially when he was with Richard. He sounded more like a beta/omega or even a female. The dynamic amongst the three just didn't feel right.
When it comes to omega/alpha books I'm always for the monogamous couples, I like the fact of true mates, soulmates, fated mates and all that. So, when I read the plot of this book I was skeptical but the reviews on Amazon were good so I pick it up. Surprisingly I loved it.
I liked Richard and Dusty's relationship, they were married and understood each other. And while Richard wasn't sure about children, he did understand Dusty's need to have a family. I also like the fact the author didn't get too overcomplicated with feelings, past and how they came to be. The flow was good and their relationship was also good. But most of everything I loved Josiah and his relationship with them but mostly, his relationship with his sister Sam.
Sam was a lovely character, she was bright, fun and so adult-like it was very funny. I loved her relationship with Josiah, you can tell they love each other.
And Josiah was lovely, his love for his sister, the way he wanted for her to be treated with respect and love. I also liked his relationship with Dusty and Richard, it was easy and not too overdramatic.
Overall the book wasn't over dramatic, there were some parts where it was angsty but overall it was good, cute and lovely all rolled into one. I'm surprised I loved this one when the previous book by Susi Hawke was a one star for me. I hope we see more of Ethan and Kai, maybe two omegas and one alpha next ;)
I first read this book about a year ago but started again as they released the third book in the series. This time I listened to it on audible.
I enjoyed the first time around reading this book, but I have to say the audio version brought it to life. Kenneth Obi did a fantastic job of the characters voices, but I sped up the whole book to 1.50 on Audible.
A married couple Richard and Dusty, both Alphas desperate for a baby and enrolled on the books of a surrogate agency.
Josiah looks after his gifted sister after their parents died whilst she was a toddler. Josiah needed a lot of money and fast to provide his sister with the future she deserved.
I loved this triad story. Even though others had a problem, I enjoyed the quips about French press and Keurig coffee, and I know people who are snobs about coffee and could relate.
I just started book two as I enjoyed it so much.
The Surrogate Omega Three Hearts Collection, Book 1 By: Susi Hawke, Harper B. Cole Narrated by: Kenneth Obi Series: Three Hearts Collection, Book 1 Length: 8 hrs and 21 mins
❤❤❤❤❤ Overall 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 Narration 📚📚 📚📚📚 Story Read at 1.50 speed on Audible
A tender story about the relationship of a married couple of alpha males, Dusty and Richard. They have a loving relationship but Dusty, who works from home, has always wanted a child while Richard (airline pilot, wanted to wait. The alpha males represent privilege, the 'haves'. Omega Josiah is doing everything that he can to take care of his little sister who can't read and is considered of low intelligence by her school. Josiah can't make ends meet now but he will do anything for his sister. He knows that she is very talented, bright and can learn but when her school wants to transfer her to a facility for those who can't learn, he has to do something drastic. A commercial on TV tipped the scale and Josiah seriously considers surrogacy to earn the money to help to send his sister to a good school, a really good school. The relationship that develops between Josiah's little family and the two alpha males is engaging and endearing. This is very well written, in the current timeframe and, although fantasy in an A/O universe, the story deals with relationships, family and social problems that are real. I sincerely enjoyed this story and will read more by this author!
I love Susi Hawke’s work, but this collaboration is perfect!
Excellent storyline and fantastic characters, especially little Samantha - she is a formidable character for a 7-8 year old little girl. The humour is great, had me chuckling throughout the audiobook but also the dynamic of the relationship between the ’thruple’ (the only word I can say to describe the relationship, rather than 3-way - sounds seedier otherwise).
The late, great Kenneth Obi masterfully narrates this great story, but I must admit, his characterisation of Richard and Siah had me reminiscing of Lucas Valloi and Rowe Ward (from Drake/Elliot’s Unbreakable Bonds Series), but the humour and mannerisms of both these characters reminded me of them - very endearing indeed 🥵👍😁
Definitely worth 5🌟’s across the board from me!
Highly entertaining and addictive - definitely recommend adding to your repertoire of audiobooks for repeat 🔁 listening 😁😊🥰
I loved the fact that Duddy and Papa Rich were a long standing couple. So often all the relationships are new. There was a history before the Omega, a history that both were mostly happy with.
SPOILER Skip this if you don’t want to know Which is why I was so frustrated at the divorce. I got why, hand fasting did not require it and Josiah gave no input SPOILER OVER
I am sure some would not call it a spoiler, but just in case.
The Omega was destitute and the Alphas came into his life in an organic way. But so much was never explained. Like the apartment, no one upstairs noticed it? Or working? Same thing with Samantha, the pets and so on.
Great start to a new series. LOVED IT! Richard, Dusty and Josiah are a great unique couple and grabbed me from page one. Rich and Dusty are two Alpha's with a connection that couldn't stop them from making a life together even though they aren't the norm. With trying to take the next step and be parents they met Josiah and his kid sister Sam. Josiah is so sweet and his story breaks your heart, his love for his sister he's raising on his own knows no bounds. Seeing how Rich and Dusty react to him and Sam differently was beautiful. Families are the ones we build ourselves with people who understand and support us. These three are sexy, sweet and the chemistry is off the charts. Loved the side characters too and can't wait for more.
I was in the mood for some sweetness and I liked the idea of this one. A surrogate omega is a different take on the genre but it only stays different through half the book then it's back to normal.
I liked the characters, Sam was a sweet girl and I liked her spunk. If the authors wanted to discourage people from ever drinking coffee from a Keurig or anything like that, it didn't work on me, I kinda want one now.
Was a bit much of the day to day stuff at the start, like miniscule daily routine things that didn't do much for the story. The drama was over the top and so obviously created to push the story forward instead of having Richard and Dusty working for what they wanted.
It was sweet, but it most likely won't stick with me further than this.
When Josiah decided to become a surrogate for Richard and Dusty his life was devoted to his little sister Sam. He was fierce in her defense that she needed the right school that would help her learn. The school would be costly and he makes the decision to become a surrogate. This story was very sweet but with life’s issues. So there was some drama, angst and above all love. Richard and Dusty are married alphas with Dusty desperate to have a baby of their own. When they meet Josiah there is a connection that they never thought would develop. This story had me laughing at times and there was some sadness but by the end the most important aspect of their lives was that they became one big happy family and of course a baby😍
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There were a few grammar mistakes but not too many. The only things that I had ‘issues’ with were a couple of the nicknames and the fact that Sam had no issue referring to Dusty & Rich as her fathers but kept referring to Josiah as her brother (while he is her brother, he practically raised her and since he’s “married” to her “dads”, it’s a little weird).
Anyway, I was glad the authors took the time to set up the Alphas’ need for the surrogate and the Omega’s need for money.
***** POV... multi first person
Standalone or series... book 1 of a series CAN be read as a standalone
Where to begin? I LOVED IT!!!! YOu jump right into the story with Josiah and sammy and then married Alphas Rich and Dusty. It's a must read to get the full effect and not by my report. Sammy brings out the love and smarts that all of the guys have and more at the ending. The ending made cry happy tears and wanting more to the story but it was excellent and beautiful. I will be re-reading this book for sure. AWESOME writing keep doing your thing and thank you both for another awesome read!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you like threesome relationships, this is a must read! I like the attention to detail and, of course, the reality of mood swings lol
Josiah is a sweet omega who needs looking after. Even though he's doing well on his own, the boy needs some lovin' and who better to give him what he needs than Dusty and Rich? I adore Josiah's niece, she's the most charming thing ever.
I'm happy to find that this is apart of a series. I hope all the other people met throughout the book will find their happy ever afters too.
These three are sexy, sweet and the chemistry is off the charts. Obi has the perfect voice for each of these characters! With so much going on and side characters the tone and flow are done brilliantly.
The Surrogate Omega is book 1 in the Three Hearts Collection series. This is a sweet, enjoyable mpreg story about two alphas in need of a surrogate, but what they find is so much more. Josiah, an omega and guardian to his 7 year old sister, looked into becoming a surrogate to get the funds needed to get his sister the education she deserved. He had no idea he would become the missing piece the two alphas, Richard and Dusty, never knew they were missing. Definitely recommend, and I am really for book 2. Narrator Kenneth Obi does a marvelous job.
Fun, well-written book featuring an alpha couple, Richard and Dusty, who hire Josiah as a surrogate to carry a child for them. Josiah is a young omega who is caring for his young sister after the death of their parents. When money issues become too much, he becomes open to serving as a surrogate. What will happen when these three men begin to develop feelings for each other that make it much more than a business arrangement? This book is feel-good, low-angst, sexy, and cohesive. An enjoyable and entertaining read.
This book was an awesome start to new series that cant wait for more to come. Fell in love with Josiah who will do anything to protect his little sister. When times comes to some hard choices he will always think of others them self. The dynamics of Rich and Dusty is so heartwarming. when these three meet there is the slow burn of attraction, will they be able to let down their insecurities to build a family? Highly recommend reading this book and can't wait for the next book in the series
Now I must admit I was a bit wary going into this as I was unsure on the angst factor seeing as two of the main character's were already married but the triad fitted together seamlessly. The heart, warmth, emotions and heat this story brings make for the perfect lazy day read.
Future story possibly set up and I'm intrguied to see where these authors go with it.
Dusty and Richard are alphas who are looking for a surrogate. When his sister needs a special school, Josiah decides to become a surrogate to get the money to send her. The three have an instant bond and attraction.
Hot and sexy. A touch of angst balances the story. Josiah’s bond with his sister is adorable. The natural progression of the relationship between the three guys and his sister was adorable. Fun, sexy read.
