“Even the strongest must acknowledge the favor of the gods.” Buddy read with Nancy :)
“Risking yourself is what you do for friends.”
I really don't care at this point! This series is entirely way to freaking drawn out and I wanna cry because there is still one book left. Someone, please kill me NOW! I just need this torture to be over!! With that being said I am NOT going to write a long or even a very good review! I mean holy crap I am to the point where I really just don't care anymore.
Once AGAIN... It's lacking any originality whatsoever. The storyline, the world-building, the characters everything is just so bland, boring, UNBELIEVABLE, PREDICTABLE and not entirely thought out, in my opinion. It's like each book gets worse and worse! Everything is just sped over and the details are always lacking when they need/should to count. Ruler, Rival, Exile really irritated me and some of the stuff that happens is just soooooo stupid and so far fetched! I have lost ANY connection to the characters because each book after the 1st one (Slave, Warrior, Queen) I realized none of them change and honestly, they are all such freaking idiots! Where is the development??? I don't even care about my ship anymore, how sad is that?
Hmm. Well, I think I said enough here. I just don't care anymore!!! Moving on to my next/LAST review for this series thank the gods!!!
I usually find the penultimate installment in a series, be it a movie, book, or television show, to be my favorite. If I’m enjoying the direction the plot is taking, that second to last one is usually the best. But not with this series.
It wasn’t as bad as the last one but weirdly… empty? Considering how much technically happened, the pacing made it feel like nothing happened whatsoever. I was super bored all throughout. Also I’m sad and frankly a little upset that Felene wasn’t even mentioned. Like??? Not even Thanos remarked on her! Smh
But I did zoom through it. I didn’t even realize that I read it in one sitting until I looked at the clock and 3 hours had passed and I was done with the book. And I will admit that there were some interesting developments. I like the stuff with the queen and as usual, Stephania never fails to entertain. The sorcerer dude annoyed me at first but now I’m intrigued where his plot is going. I just wish it had been established earlier in the series for cohesion’s sake.
Considering the fact that this series should have ended like 3 books ago, we’ll have to see how the next and final book plays out.
Sobrevivirán , volverán a verse? Terminarán juntos? Sin duda que le doy 4/5 estrellas o un 8.8/10.
This is the seventh installment in the Of Crowns and Glory series. I really feel like this could have been four books, because they're all so short and could have been condensed into bigger, fewer books. In this one, we again have a lot happening but not happening. Nothing whatsoever gets any kind of conclusion, so sub-plot or side story. Ceres and Thanos aren't together. The Empire, Delos, and Rebellion have all fallen to Irrien, the First Stone of Felldust. The war is over but not the battle, Ceres has gone off on her own, Thanos is trying to save everyone by himself, and it's just basically the same thing over again.
If you have somehow really enjoyed this series, then go ahead and read one more to get the ending. I'm going to read it just because I don't like leaving a series unfinished. If you are reading this review trying to decide if you want to read these or not, maybe read books 1-3 then skip to book 8 because all you're really missing is fighting.
Ceres is still uncertain about her future with Thanos, and at this point, it's kind of heartbreaking. What more does he have to do to prove he is faithful and loyal to only her? I was with her back when she found out he was married to Stephania--who wouldn't feel betrayed by his keeping such a huge secret to himself? But since then, he has proven himself worthy countless times and her hesitation is starting to worry me. But they certainly have other things to distract them, like getting Ceres's powers back and preparing Haylon for the upcoming attack by Felldust. Meanwhile, Irrien's disdain for Stephania was great to see. It's nice to know not everyone is duped by her. The number of times she weasels her way out dire straits and into power is mind-boggling. I need to see her comeuppance or I will not be satisfied.
I felt like this one just didn't give me enough through the story. Everything great that happened was at the end of the book. Can Stephania just die already. She is a strong-willed horror, but at least she seems to live by revenge , and did she have to kill the healer? Ceres and Thanos are never gonna get to just reflect. It seems to be the same thing they go off to fight, get lucky and meet back together, and then back off to die again. I feel these characters that are still alive who shouldn't be are going to come back as an important part of the bad thing that will happen to all the main characters. I don't know why the Baby had to be grown, I guess I'll find out. Of course I will finish the series I have to know what is going to happen. Ohh and the deadly 12, really! They weren't worth the trouble.
So first complaint... 181 pages... $5.99... really..... Thank god i could get it from my library.. because I would have a hard time swallowing that pill for under 200 kindle pages. We all know the battle is coming. Thanos is stupid because hey I am going to get her to forgive me by proposing... because that has ever worked NEVER. A lot of writing and story line in a short book makes it feel super rushed to me. There were things in book that could have been given more back story but weren't. I do like these books. But now I feel like I am just skimming through and reading quickly to finds the important details because of lot of it feels like it is just filling.
Another fabulous installment of this fantasy series - I am very lucky to have been given it to read.
I think one of the worse characters for villainy is Stephania - unbelievably cruel, arrogant and evil...and she thinks she not unnecessarily unkind! She certainty makes for good reading and fits perfectly in the role of enemy on all fronts.
The battles keep going, the power-crazed are - crazy. There is magic, mystery and mayhem. It's imaginative and true fantasy, though could have been extended to the finale.
We can only guess where it will end - I know what I'd like but will soon find out.
So there wasn't much of the leading lady Ceres in this one I'm hoping that that Will be rectified in the last book it is supposed to be about her after all this one was approved the place setting up for the final show down. I'm hoping that in the final book that the people who are nothing but evil get there just deserts. I have enjoyed this series a couple of them have been slow but you have to keep going otherwise your going to miss a fantastic series for young or older readers and who said young adult books can't be enjoyed by everyone?
I love Morgan rice , love these series , they have romance, cunning , and did l mention fantasy my favourite, and Morgan rice is up there with my favourite author , l cannot wait for the last book in this series, l have read all of Morgan's fantasy books , and l must say , l have never been disappointed, well done Morgan .
I don’t like their way she writes short books with no real endings gets you hooked with a free one then a low priced sequel then ups the price of the next book, again and again and again! If she kept the following books at $2.99 a book I’d try another series but not till then! And anyway I have to speed through 60% of the books anyway!
this series is the Best thing i’ve stumbled across!! EVERY BOOK IN THIS SERIES IS A PAGE TURNER! i HOLD MY BREATH EVERY PAGE WHILE I CHEER CERES AND THANOS ON!! EVEN though i just started this one I HAD TO WRITE SOMETHING ABOUT THE ONES I’VE READ ALREADY!! OH MY GOSH THIS IS AWESOME I DON’T EVER WANT THIS SERIES TO END!!!
Another great book I listened to it every chance I got. I like that the narration changes from character to character as the story develops . Sometimes I wish we got the characters different points of view of the same parts of the story Instead of skipping to the next thing . Action-packed . The fighting as well described
I feel like hardly anything happened, maybe it’s just because of the slow pacing? Perhaps this book is all just set up for the final book? I did enjoy seeing Queen Athena interact with others in this book, we haven’t really seen her perspective before. The reversal of life in Delos is interesting but I think they showed it better in hero, traitor, daughter.
This story is getting eye rolly. People who should be dead just won’t die. I get having a lucky person but just about every main character manages to avoid death over and over. I’m finishing because there is only one more book but if this were to go on much longer I would jump ship.
Dragging the chain... i think i'll be quitting this series, these books are getting more expensive and less story. I don't mind paying for my read but don't string it out to make more cash.
