Too general. But how come the writer knows I like stuffed penguin! I did have one when I was a kid. Like out of all animals =)) I also have thought about hydroponic veggie.. I also already bought clear quartz.. maybe Aquarius ppl are superstitious somehow? I, however, disagree with how the author tries to make everything air connects with Aquarius..“Aquarius is an air sign—which means proper breathing is especially important to your health and well-being” Like people from other signs don't need breathing =)))
I am not certain what I was looking for in this book but recommendations such as playing the kazoo or flying a kite was not particularly helpful. Maybe it’s because I am always looking and reading. I did not find this book to added to my current knowledge base.
The author doesn’t put much effort into this book. The first half is excellent, exciting but the second half copies ideas like for simple taking written course, just like she said for Gemini and libra and weather watching.
The author doesn’t take much to study the air signs thoroughly.
I didn't hate this book. I really enjoyed the beginning half. But I'm very much a beginner with stuff like this. But I feel like I was able to learn a lot about my sign which was really cool. It helped me realize that I am much more of an Aquarius than I actually thought I was.
But the send half of the book was a bit so-so. There were a lot of interesting ideas; I liked that it was showing that self-care can really be anything from listening to music, to decorating your room or car. There were a couple suggestions that were a little farfetched, or that I felt like they didn't really explain why it was applicable to Aquarius. And there were a couple of suggestions that made me raise an eyebrow, especially smudging. I'm not Native, but I've heard a lot about how smudging is an actually sacred thing and if you want to cleanse your space with smoke, you can totally do that, but don't use sage. Now, I'm not trying to get mad on anyone's behalf, I just don't think suggestion that anyone use 'ceremonial sage' like it said in this book is the best thing to suggest. You can cleanse your space with smoke from incense sticks and there are plenty of other alternatives to sage.
Overall though, I thought this was definitely interesting and had some cool ideas. I know it was pretty beginner and just an overview, but I think it would have book cool if there are were other parts about if you're an Aquarius moon or something like that.
This was given as a gift and it allowed me to be more open-minded to the qualities of an Aquarius. I don’t follow horoscopes but the thought of my birth aligning with Uranus pretty amazing. This book has given me new activities to try out (although I was not fond of all of them) and I look forward to my self-care through those rituals. The only reason I took off a star is because I don’t believe everything it says when it comes to an Aquarius’s personality (and this could just be the rebellious, non-conforming Aquarius in me) but I did not agree that Aquarius are not born leaders or are not discipline. That being said of course it could just mean it’s not a skill set we are not naturally good at. So that opens the possibility that you can attain those qualities through hard work and consistency. Overall, a fun and insightful book!
It was as if I was reading my own autobiography! There were so many things that I learned about myself. Like why I suffer from insomnia! There were also some reassuring values that are true to my heart. Like always finding ways to help others and solve problems. Its a motivator to stop and take care of myself so that I continue making a positive impact in the world <3 Gifting The Little Book of Self-Care to all of my close friends.
I’m gonna give it 4 stars because I’ve been unbalanced for some weeks so it was good to re read things I’ve known but forgotten due to many things that we deal with in life. I got this book to find new info which I did. I can understand the low ratings on this book like I agree there are some things in this book that I can’t apply for myself. Overall I enjoyed reading facts about my Aquarius sign.
I'm gifting this to a fellow Aquarius ... I love it (not ALL of the suggestions, but overall a great book of information), and I decided to buy The Astrological Guide to Self-Care ... it has ALL TWELVE ZODIAC SIGNS! (... because I'm curious and wanna read about all of them now, lol)
Why I'm interested in this book at the first place Self-care is the new "chill" (niche), no? 🤷🏻♀️
What do I think of this book... now that I've done reading it A quick read, with two main sections. The author is an astrologer, so first half of the book is about how to incorporate self-care with astrology personality.
The second half dedicated to recommending activities/interests for fellow Aquarians.
I was amazed by some of the recommendations - I am currently doing it, and/or it's a part of my favorite hobbies!
+ Highlights of stuffs that intrigues me: Yoga - camel pose Acupuncture Black popcorn Cardamom in coffee Ragtime Music Frankincense, Myrrh, Cedarwood Raga Music Play a Kazoo
I found a lot of cool stuff in this book that I can do to refresh and restore my mental and physical health However, there are some ways that I can not apply it for myself.
