This collection of short stories, vignettes, and essays are various samplings from nearly four years of blog stops, out-takes, and musings. There are a few shorts that never made it into a larger novel and even some essays describing the great works that inspired Nicole Clarkston. Most of the scenes are connected to one of her published works, but are not included in the book. At the beginning of each segment, she has included a short word to establish context.

This was clean but steamy due to scenes that did go into the bedroom post-wedding night.

If you're like me, when you really love a film, you are tickled to death to find out there are special extra features to enjoy afterward. The Vignettes by Nicole Clarkston is just such a bundle of extra scenes, deleted scenes, character interviews, essays, etc for a few of her books.

I enjoyed delving more into one of my favorite North and South variations, Northern Rain, and the P&P variations London Holiday, These Dreams, and Rumours & Recklessness.

Definitely for fans of the books who want more of these books and characters.

I was searching my Kindle to see if I had an unread Austen variations left and found this book. While it is all well written I can't say that I loved it. It really wasn't what I was looking for. It is what the title says, brief vignettes that never made it into a book for one reason or another. Why I didn't like them was simply because I wanted more story. It would just start getting going and then, boom! Done. So if you just want to read Nicole Chlarkston's writing then this is great. But if you want a whole story, this isn't the book. You may get a little background about a story and an unpublished glimpse of it though.

These short bits of literary yumminess reminded me of why I love Nicole Clarkston's books so much and have inspired me to reread some of them. She is unmatched for swoony, romantic scenes that melt the reader into a puddle.
