Camden has a tough shell. His history of neglect has taught him no one can be trusted, so he holds his foster family at arm’s length, and everyone else even farther. When a little flirtation starts up with his new boss, Brian, he has no expectation of that shell cracking anytime soon.

Brian has already been down the commitment road, and he’d crashed and burned. He’s hesitant to start an office fling, but can a one night stand cause too much trouble?

But the temptation of the forbidden relationship is too much, and soon the men find themselves sharing more than the expected—not just their bodies, but their hearts. But for their relationship to move further, Camden will have to share his deepest darkest secret… about the relationship that prompted the government to take him from his parents and the pregnancy he lost.

Captive is the third in a contemporary mpreg trilogy of three men with broken pasts who became brothers, thanks to the only man who gave them a chance. It can be read as a standalone. Trigger warning for drug use. Warning! This book contains adult situations, with adults doing adult-only things, so 18+ readers only! Guaranteed HEA.

Trigger warning: contains past references to miscarriage.

I can't believe how each book in this series made the trilogy story arc better and better. It was never explained until the Third book why Camden behaved the way he did. You are truly missing out if you don't read this series in order of publication #1 Beastly, #2 Poison, and finally #3 featuring the third Greaves foster brother in Captive.

If you love mpreg, loyal protective dads, including the Greaves Foster father, and how much the brothers really cared for each other even when it wasn't always demonstrated in the most conventional way. Then these stories are just what you are looking for.

Since I'd already read the first two books in this Trilogy I didn't need to read the book blurb and therefore had no idea what was coming. There were so many surprises and all types of revelations. Camden was not easy to like in the first two books. But once an understanding of who he truly was and why he took the risks that he did made him more of a sympathetic character.

This turns out to be a temporary Boss and Employee relationship with benefits. Neither wanted a romance each only planned on an One Night Stand, and stubbornly stuck to these sentiments until the desire to be together again became too much. Due to the damaged hearts they possessed they tried to keep denying any inkling of growing feelings.

As secrets are revealed with tendrils of trust being woven together their fear is still the overriding emotion. Fight or flight (flee / run away). But what if one of them wants the other to stay with him? Unfortunately there is too much emotional baggage to be able to assess the other's intentions. Each man is too scared to wonder - to hope that they feel the same about each other. And once the possibility of a child enters the picture everything goes haywire.

I am sad to see the ending of this Trilogy that I truly enjoyed. Please don't hesitate to read each story preferably all of the three Greaves Brothers books in chronological order.

Crista Crown continues her Greaves Brothers series with book three, Captive. And it's a great ride.

Camden's a wanderer till he meets his new boss, Brian. As they start a fling, they aren't looking for anything serious. But, soon, their relationship becomes more than they expected.

Their romance is hot and intense. I enjoy their age gap, as they both bring different things to the table. Both men have tough pasts that have left them scarred. Only together can they overcome their fears and move forward.

My favorite line is "a touch of forbidden combined with a challenge? It was a trap tailor-made for me."

Camden and Brian's tale is one of risks and insecurities. The miscarriage issue is well developed and touched upon in a great manner. The mental scars are long lasting and have definitely effected Camden's mental state.

I also love the wandering aspect of Cam's character. We all know that person who keeps looking for his/her place in the world, making this part of Cam relatable. It's emotional seeing him finally find his home.

Captive's a beautiful and riveting story of two men who aren't looking for a relationship. Crista Crown's whole Greaves Brothers series is a lot of fun and worth a read.

OMG! In love!

I have followed all of Crista's books including the co-written books. I'll be honest in saying that I was a little nervous in reading this series because I didn't know what to expect. I am not one for contemporary but I LOVED this series. Crista makes the reader go on the emotional rollercoaster with all 3 brothers.

In this book, you finally get to see what goes on in Cam's mind as well as why he is the way he is. You also meet Brian, Cam's boss and love interest. This book has set me on an emotional rollercoaster with Cam and I could not be happier with how it ended. Virtual high five Crista!

Interesting family i would say.Everyone has a past, deep hidden scars and fears. They have to tackle their fears , every time one cannot run. This series is based on that along with a lot of healing. As Mr Greaves said their family was built on love and trust, not paper and blood.
Camden was running away almost his whole life, seeking adventures until he met Brian. Things took a turn , every thing looked bright but that alone cant erase all the fears and the scars of his past.Maybe meeting the right person helps a lot in facing the fears head-on. Glad Camden and Brian got a happy ending and yeah Fatherhood was the only adventure he'd need again !

I enjoyed this book. The subject matter at times can be a bit sad, but the characters seem to work it out and you do get a HEA with this story. Cam and Brian are both people that avoid commitment like the plague, but as one thing leads to another they can't fight the growing feelings they have for each other.
The book also letsus revisit with the characters from the previous two books and it is nice to see them again. You could read this as a stand alone, but reading it from the first book makes it much more enjoyable! I would recommend this book.

Captive is the third book in The Greaves Brothers series by Crista Crown. Camden and Brian are great characters. Their pasts left their scars but together they may find a way to move past those events. I really enjoyed reading their story and seeing their relationship evolve from one- time fling to much more. Definitely a great addition to the series.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I didn’t like it quite as much as I did the previous book in the series. I think it’s because Camden was a hard person to warm up to. Also, it started to go down the whole Big Misunderstanding route but luckily that was nipped in the bud quickly. Overall, a really good book.

Beat book of series.

Best greaves brother book by far. Loved it. Cam and Brian are wonderful and meant for each other. I didn't think cam had it in him. Even though I knew it would happen but least with less fuss.

Not bad

I'm giving this a 3.5. I've enjoyed reading about the brothers, but I didn't like this particular entry quite as well as I liked the other books. I just didn't connect with the characters as much.

A great conclusion. The danger of being found out was exciting and the couple was electric. I loved how kind, caring, and loyal Brian was.
