In the smart, sexy tradition of New York Times bestsellers NEXT SUMMER and SOUTH BEACH, comes a new, sizzling look at tangled teenage romances set in a posh country club.
There's the filthy-rich spoiled princess lounging in her Versace gold string bikini. The uber-hot pool boy who never has his shirt on. The poor-but-beautiful girl stuck working behind the snack bar. The handsome tennis star whose even better at kissing. The tight pack of best friends who've been spending summers at the Club forever. . . AND the mysterious newcomer who throws everything off whack. This summer, their lives and loves will all intersect in the most juicy ways imaginable. Because, in the Club, no rules apply. . . except the rules of attraction.
Pool Boys-- I didn't exactly like this book, because half the time I was confused with what's going on. The author writes this book in a crazy fashion with tons of character, and it's very hard for me to keep up with. In this book, it talks about romance over the summer, about all these rich teenagers hanging out at The Silver Oaks Country Club. Brooke, and Charlotte both best friends, and both incredibly rich was staying at The Silver Oaks, just like every other summer. Their usual rich friends would be there too, but this year there's a hot newcomer,Marcus Craft. Because of Marcus's arrival it changes the friendship and relationships of everyone.
Quick read, finished in 1 day. It was entertaining enough for a typical teen book. Personally I think Brooke is a B*tch. She is only thinks of herself and prioritizes a boy over her friends, yet she gets mad at her friends for trying to branch out and make new friends. Brooke would rather stay in a small clique and gossip. Also why was it normal for the college guy to date Georgia when she was in highschool ?! I think he was a sophomore in college and she was 16/17
I loved this book! It was seriously SO much fun to read over the summer! There was so much romance in the fun, playful sort of way which I think is what summer is supposed to be like. Some of these relationships are summer flings, others turn into more... read it and see to find out! I'm sure if you're a teenage girl you'll love it!
Quick summery read. It's meant for teens, but there is some sex and alcohol in the book if that bothers you. Also a bit unrealistic story line as most teens are not in the country club set and running around all summer doing as they please.
I wanted a summer romance that wasn’t too serious and this was it. Sure, there are some dated references and it’s not the greatest piece of literature but I really liked it! While I could understand there may have been some character confusion as mentioned in others reviews due to the amount of people involved, I followed along just fine and found it to be a quick fun read for the summer.
i honestly did not expect much from this book when i picked it up as a joke, but it is a really great book. it has a great story line, and lovable characters. it’s kind of a beautiful story about friendship, and one of my favourite books ever!
Pool Boys is a very good book. I recommend it for anyone in high school or middle school. This book can kind of relate to us high schoolers because it's about relationships and drama. There are three main girls: Brooke, charlotte, and georgia. Brooke was described to look like Snow white. She was also my favorite character because she had the most actions in her stories. She was lounging one day by the pool at Silver Oaks County Club, when she spotted a very hot lifeguard. She was getting up to go meet him, when a beautiful girl came walking in and went over to flirt with him. Brooke got very upset. Eventually after Valerie, the new girl, left, the lifeguard went over to Brooke to talk. They hit it off instantly. What really made Brooke mad was the fact that her two best friends were hitting on him as well. So as the summer went on, more boys came into their lives. Bryon a main one for Georgia. They had been dating off and on for a couple of years. The last week of summer, the lifeguard threw a party at his summer house and he invited Brooke. They had been in a fight for awhile, but they had recently reconnected. At the end of the party, everybody fell in love. The end of the book kind of disappointed me because it was a cliffhanger. It made me mad that it didn't really share more. I was kind of hoping they'd make a second one, but they won't. I want to know how Brooke's relationship turns out in the long run. I think it'd be cool for them to make a second one with all three of the girls lives written out.
Silver Oaks Country Club is an exclusive place where secrets and scandals are the name of the game.
Brooke, Charlotte, and Georgia have grown up together and have always been best friends. No matter what. Then Valerie, the mysterious new girl, who seems to be all over all the pool boys, arrives.
Charlotte and Valerie become friends and are always hanging out and playing tennis together. Charlotte (referred to as "C") slowly shuts out her old friends. Brooke and Georgia feel betrayed.
Who likes who is the constant question in this book. It's very difficult to keep track of, too, because there are so many characters and the scenes change really fast. It was worth reading, but you have to pay attention all of the time to figure out who is doing what, and who they're doing it with!
In the Silver Oaks Country Club there lies beautiful rich spoil teens. A rich spoil princess lies in her Versace bikini and of course the handsome tennis player. On the other hand we have the pack of best friends who always been at the club and the newcomer who changes everything. That's because in this club there is no rule but the rules of attraction.
I like this book because it gives you a summer feeling when you know that summer is not near yet. It feels like your in the club with them, watching them because the story seems so real. A really great book.
Pool boys by Erin Haft was a really good and funny book. It is a summer story about 3 girls and their lives at a country club. All three of them are starting to grow apart. This book is about them working out their differences and remaining friends. Though I did not relate much to this book it taught me a lot. It really showed me that even though you may be changing and the people around you are also changing you can work past that and maybe even become even closer. I would recommend this to people who enjoy girly realistic fiction.
Rich girls story where one girl finds guy, guy's a jerk, still hooks up with him, other girl is mean to only guy who really likes her (and also wants to lose his virginity to her - real nice guy, ain't he?), but ends up with him anyway, gthird girl is the only one who is a redeeming character and ditches her friends for the new girl, who is not liked by the other two, and in the end all become friends.
I don't even want to spend the time writing a big review on this book - it was so terrible.
This was another 3.99 ebook that I thought I would take a chance on. I regret it. After the first chapter, I already hated it. The writing was childish, the characters were even more so and the dialogue was laughable. It was like a teenage soap opera but without the killing sprees.
Safe your time, money, and brain cells. Don't read it.
This book really annoyed me, it was paced quite slow and had no real plot apart from a bunch of girls who get hormonal and territorial about what they believe is theirs. It was boring to read and didn't offer anything that I would have deemed worthwhile unless you enjoy spending your time reading about who did what with what boy and how that girl should watch her back.
I straddle the fence on this story; I liked it because it was witty and had me laughing out loud half the time, but on the other hand, I felt that it was unrealistic and had no true climax...You know, the "end all, be all"?
Nevertheless, my favorite characters were Caleb and Valerie; Caleb was nonchalantly funny and Valerie was down-to-earth and too cool for words!
Another crappy one...the characters in this book were such stereotypes! C'mon peeople, let's put a little more thought into teen novels...young shouldn't equal stupid! This is an excellent candidate for "the dumbing down of society".
I did not expect to like this book because of 1) the cover and 2) the story but in the end I kinda liked it. It's more than the drama of some spoiled teenagers. It's about keeping old friendships and acquiring new ones. This book's not that bad, I guess.
Rich girl, blah blah blah, pool boy, blah blah, tennis boy, blah. Fell asleep and drooled all over it. I don't even think that valley girls would like this book.
I'm giving this three stars because I don't even remember what I thought of it. Obviously wasn't great and obviously didnt suck. I read t several years ago.
In the book "Pool Boys" Brooke, Charlette, and Georgia have been best friends since forever, and have been going to the Silver Oaks Country Club ever since they were little. Throughout the book the three friends go through a lot of heartbreaks, and tough times. When they're back for the summer there are two new faces at the club. Brooke has her eyes on the new life guard, Marcus Craft, and Georgia makes good friends with Valerie Packwood, a new member of Silver Oaks that could jeopardize the three friends friendship. While I was reading this book, one of the few things I liked about it was when the author would switch points of views, from one character to the next, it made the book more interesting because they were more opinions on the plot. Although one thing I did not like was how stereotypical the plot was, I could guess a lot of things that were going to happen. If you like books that have cliques you would enjoy this book.
