A mansion, an empty safe, and a murdered couple. For Major Crimes Sergeant Brad Braun, it’s the first day back in the field after taking a bullet.
The second that Braun steps foot on scene, he banishes any thoughts of this being a home invasion gone wrong. Whoever entered the home appears to have done so with the intention of killing anyone in sight.
But the first home is just the beginning. Within twenty-four hours, the sergeant is staring across a similar blood-soaked scene. An undesirable trend begins to emerge.
As Braun circles in on his suspects, he quickly realizes the kind of people he’s dealing with—aggressive, ruthless, and incapable of showing regard for human life, even for one of their own.
The closer Braun gets, the more that disregard for life may apply to him.
I started reading books by E H Reinhard last July 2024. Just after foot surgery and couldn't walk. I ran across the series of Lieutenant Kane (Dedicated to Death Series) read all 4, then the Series of Cases of Lieutenant Kane. Read all 6, proceeded to Agent Hank Rawlling Series of 6 books. Found another series The Lieutenant Harrington, 6 books and now the series written under the name of Erik Racker which at the time I did not know the two names were the same author. I quickly figured it out by a Google search. I enjoyed the books originally because they were quick reads. Then I realized after the first book that the author is really good. All the books are action packed and I had a hard time putting them down. I started walking again and I'm still reading them.
The Sergeant Braun Series, 5 books in the series. I really enjoyed them, yes I am doing a review of all 5 books. They flow so well together. If you are after the criminal being a CIA operative who is a double agent for the KKK who just happens to run the mob, this is NOT the books for you. There are no absurd twists, nor are the characters angst-driven with tragic pasts who spend more time lusting after each other than doing their jobs. These are police procedural done right. Good honest law enforcement doing a hard job well. Each book follows Sergeant Braun and the main case for each book. Do not forget to check out books written under another of his pen names E.H. Reinhard they are as good.
The second entry into this new series is just as exciting as the first. We get a better feel for the continuing characters. The plot is fresh and an action packed drama. Getting ready to read the third .
I really enjoyed this book. Sgt. Brad Braun is a homicide detective in Tampa. I especially love the lighthearted banter among Braun and his co-workers. It lightens up a dark subject.
This story is about a couple of people thinking they can get rich quick robbing houses of rich people. Well you will see how their plan goes awry right away. I liked all the sections about how the police turned clue after clue. I ordered the first book. Great writing.
You are in the right path in your life, but you want money, lots of it then retire before 30years. You need to work for it not take it making a bloody mess!
Was looking forward to this second book but unfortunately, it wasn't quite good as the first one. The storyline was promising but sadly didn't really deliver. The main characters are great, especially the banter between them.
