Author Robert W. Walker seems to possess actual knowledge about fire fighting and arson investigation and without the fabricated forensic hoo-hah of the other Dr. Dean Grant novels this one just putters along.

A man, busted teeth gives a present wrapped in paper to a lonely lady. A blow torch blinding the lady, burning out her eyes. The apartment ablaze. Fire could be a sleeping dragon, bidding it's time to full power. The body on the autopsy table, the internal organ completely dried out. The heart had burst open. The flesh and clothes formed one homogeneous mass of coagulation matter. Police knew it was arson. He was dubbed the arsons arsonist. He left no evidence. The killer needed to feed his need . The human eye has 137 million light sensitive cells. The eyes are the all-seeing, all-knowing. Flaming a blow torch into women's faces got him off. He would blow torch off ears, destroying breasts and vags. The blow torch was his dick.
