I already loved this series…
But then it added another favorite troupe of mine…

Amnesia. Okay, here me out. There’s just something so romantic about one person’s relentless pursuit to help another recall them. Ah, to be fair I just love when someone puts effort into a relationship, & it’s more noticeable in amnesia plots. But enough trauma dumping 😂

Aileen & Claude’s relationship is tossed for a whirl when Claude losses his memories and is basically forced to forget his past. Aileen, however, being the headstrong woman that she is pursues him and tries to make him fall back in love with her in hopes to return his memories. What pursues is funny, heart wrenching dramatics that will have you begging to know more.

I cried, I wept, I feared (for Almond mostly), and I found myself desperate for the next volume and desiring the outcomes.

The ending perfectly summarized the plot of this novel, yet still left yearning. Overall, I cannot stop gushing over this volume and the scene in the summerhouse. 🫣

You know I must be enjoying this series because I normally stay far, far away from present-tense narration. I still don't like that aspect of it, but the way that Nagase plays with the "villainess is heroine, therefore heroine is villainess" trope more than makes up for it - while we got hints of it in the first two books, now it's all in the open that Lilia thinks everyone in the "game" world is an NPC, and that's starting to backfire on her. This makes good use of it by having the plot take place in a fandisc that works with elements of the first game in the franchise that volume one used; we can see how Lilia and Aileen handle the plot rehash with their new knowledge. Each book in this series seems to get better and better; hopefully it can keep that up.

I’ll give this 4.8⭐️ I don’t really have much to say. I feel like this volume didn’t have much, but at the same time, still have enough going on that made it good all the same. The comedy in romantic comedy was given more emphasis; what with Aileen’s schemes and attempts to bring back Claude’s memories. The final boss this time was a bit lackluster IMO, same with his background. Maybe that’s ‘cause he’s only from a fan disc like what Aileen said? That ending though? I kinda was expecting it but not really? Like I hoped I was wrong but I guess I was right LOL. I feel a little sad that some of my favorite characters from volume 2, like James, didn’t get much screen time this time around. But since he’s one of Aileen’s retainers then he’s bound to keep showing up in the next volumes, right???

I’m excited to find out what happens in the next volume. What other schemes does Lilia have install for our Aileen? Although I really am starting to tire of her already… sorry not sorry. It would be a nice change if the next problem wouldn’t be something she plotted just ‘cause she knows the otome game too well. Also, will we finally get to see a proper wedding night?! Will Claude let loose?!? I’d love to see that hehe

It’s so funny how Claude is so strikingly similar to my fiancé. Even he admits that whenever I show him a line said by Claude or stuff he does to Aileen LMAO maybe that’s why I love this series so much. Because Claude reminds me of my hubby A LOT. Minus the demon king title and powers

Wedding night bliss?

You're concludes the final arc in the anime season 1. In the anime this was my least favorite story, so far in the books it's still about there but it was definitely better in the book than it was in the anime. I do like the idea that there are more volumes following this volume. It's not very common for romance or romantic comedies to have stories after the wedding. It's usually just a happily ever after. Somehow it makes the relationship the journey and the friendships made along the way feel less significant than the big wedding. I feel like a wedding is a significant event in one's life journey but it's a little cliche to have it the pinnacle of your story. I'm pleased that it's only a small part of this volume as a reward for her three volume journey but it's also not the end of the story.

I won't spoil much but I will say one thing, I was so exhausted on my personal wedding night that I think I fell asleep when I got home. I don't think anyone who's had a busy wedding would be surprised that you didn't need at least a nap at some point. Also, I didn't eat at my reception until the very end when my uncle handed me a plate full of food and sat me down to eat it. If somebody hadn't to forcefully put food in my hands I probably wouldn't have eaten at all at my own wedding reception.

Fantastic

Okay, this has to be the best volume. Reason are the Prince Claude forgets about his brazen fiancé. So she will do just about anything to make him fall in love with her. Yet instead we have another guy who loves her. But she looks at him as garbage. My favorite part is when she calls her ex-fiancé waste bin, deposable waste. It’s a name well deserved. Meanwhile, the saintess is still a cunning little *****. Also, we realize that Prince Cedric and Prince Claude are a bit too similar in the romance aspect. In short, this novel is going to keep you entertained, so what are you waiting for, start reading.

★★★½☆

The author mentions in the afterword that she struggled with this book in places (I’m paraphrasing), and I could see it here and there. There were pacing issues. However, the book had memorable moments throughout. The dialogue was my favorite aspect. Also, this book featured a much better ending than the anime. If you’re a fan of the show, do yourself a favor and pick up this light novel series. If you are unfamiliar with LNs, this series is a good one to begin your journey. Although it’s premise is a bit tropey, the execution is very original, especially when compared to other LNs.

前段其實看的有點痛苦,雖然我很喜歡失憶哏,但恢復記憶之前還是很痛苦啊!!!
但兩個人一見面,就恢復喜劇的步調,超級有趣。

This cements the protagonist as a psycho. She still believed that she and Aileen are the only 'real' people, and everyone else is somehow an NPC that doesn't matter. It is, quite literally, a game to Lilia. So she does get a little 'shocked' when the characters 'go off script'. And apparently Aileen is a stickler for cannon. Personally I found the ending very satisfying.

Things get intense in this volume and it was an exciting way to ramp things up. The dynamics between Aileen and Claude get changed because of the amnesia and seeing the way it all played out, wrapped along with the politics that got brought into the situation, was really interesting. I even teared up during a certain scene that I will not spoil.
This series is quickly becoming a favorite of mine

Took my time reading it due to the amnesia plotline. Also because of the wait for the next volume. Overall, I like how Sarasa Nagase does not drag out the story and she just lets each part finish in a satisfying way.

This was actually a really cool reincarnation fantasy/romance. It reminded me of Why Raeliana ended up at the dukes mansion. Cute ending :)

Last volume spiced things up in this series. This volume gives you the consequences of that in amazing ways.

Lilia in this volume was a fantastic antagonist. So much of this volume had me on the edge of my seat. Poor Aileen in her attempts to get Claude to remember her and accept her as his fiancée suffered a lot this volume. Claude, this man was something else this entire volume.
