"English Its History and Its Significance for the Life of the English-Speaking World" by William J. Long resents the whole splendid history of English literature from Anglo-Saxon times to the close of the Victorian Era. It's a useful and interesting guide for students as well as teachers of English literature, specially European and American, despite over a hundred years passing since the time of its first publication.
A recommendable book for those preparing for advanced English Literature exams or those with an avid interest in literature!
William J. Long surely has a knack for writing. But it seems like the topic of women's liberties and achievements repels him like a cockroach to a bug spray.
While the book kept me on the edge of my seat by telling me about the fascinating lives of famous authors, it is left incomplete due to the omission of writers born without the male sexual body part.
Overall, 3.8 stars solely because it is an intentionally unfinished book of the history of English literature.
