Kenneth Weston's name is a household term...that is, in households of crazy rich brides. His design house, Weston Creations, is known for one-of-a-kind wedding and formal gowns, each more stunning and elaborate than the last. It's taken a careful balance of creativity and business sense, and Kenneth is always very much in control.
But one thing he can't control is time. His mother is dying, and everyone agrees the only reason she's holding on is because Kenneth isn't settled and happy yet. So he approaches this as any busy billionaire would, choosing a bride from an online forum. Katie McIver is nothing like what he wanted in a partner, but he can't deny the attraction. This internet-famous soap-maker is bubbly and outgoing, and Kenneth knows his mother will believe he's at last fallen in love.
Katie, on the other hand, nearly maces him when he shows up at her home with a birthday bouquet. She had no idea all those emails weren't spam! It's going to take Kenneth opening up about his real motives to get tender-hearted Katie to agree to marry him and solve all his problems.
But he's about to discover that marriage to a complete stranger isn't quite the brilliant solution he thought. His family might be fooled, sure, but hers can't even be told. And the longer Kenneth stays in his sleepy little hometown, the more of a struggle it is to maintain the careful balance he's always prided himself on.
This bargain may not be what they expected, but during the Easter season of new life, Kenneth and Katie will get a lesson in love, family, and just what "forever" really means.
This was a sweet temporary marriage of convenience romance. Kenneth wants his terminally ill mother to know that he has found love, so that she can finally let go and be at peace, so he has his assistant help him find someone to be his temporary wife. Katie thinks his emails contacting her about this are just from another scammer, so she is skeptical at first about his proposal. They are both artists, he with his dress designs and she with her soap making. But he has to be in control, plan everything out, and tries to leave feelings out of it, while Katie is very expressive, loving, and emotional. I loved her soap making videos. It makes me want to try it. I loved that she agreed to this arrangement not just to help her sister out financially but because she saw something special in Kenneth. His mom’s passing was sad, but I feel like a symbolic rainbow came out to shed color over everything and bring them peace.
A delightful Easter read with many Easter holiday traditions and story which evokes laughter and heart ache. Billionaire's Bargain is a blend of two ranches (River's End and Quinn Valley), two wild big crazy families (Weston and McIver), and two hearts (Kenneth and Katie). Caroline Lee weaves in old faces, like Jaclyn with fun Easter bunnies and faces from Quinn Valley. Will the business deal between Kenneth and Katie, the soap maker survive the stress of life? Will Kenneth's wish come true? Received and ARC for my honest review.
Kenneth needs a wife fast and he knows who he wants. He’s made a list and now he shows up at Katie’s door to propose. They are totally strangers but she accepts any way. Will their short marriage bring something good, even a lovely HEA? This is a great emotional story, Katie is just the woman Kenneth needs to handle what’s coming on his path. I loved reading about the soap making process. This book is written with so many details, you want to smell the soaps and see the colors of the gowns.
More than most romances, this book truly captures both heart and feelings, especially of men. So many women need to help their make partners learn how to express their feelings. Many women need to learn that lesson, too (I'm trying not to be too sexist here), but the journey from intellect to heartfelt is an amazing one. Caroline Lee has brought a true depth of feeling too Quinn Valley. Oh, a special thanks to her for the cross over of Jacqueline at her bunnies!
This book was very personal to the author and you can feel like. The raw emotions it invokes actually made the love between Katie and Kenneth feel much more authentic.
Besides the excellent writing, I loved this book for how relatable the characters' lives were. I feel everytime I read one's off her books, I say it's the best one yet! Caroline Lee doesn't disappoint
And I'm very excited to visit the world of soap making thanks to all the tips supplied in the book!
Billionaire's Bargain is a beautifully written book. I truly enjoyed reading it! It is a heartwarming & emotional story. Kenneth, wanted to make his mother happy. After an extensive search, Kenneth chose Katie. She is a bubbly & sweet soapmaker. He made a bargin with Katie, to give his mother peace, so she would know that he would not be alone anymore. Another great book in the series. I loved everything about this must read story!!
Caroline Lee has another winner! This book reminds me of an old fashioned mail-order bride—updated to the computer age! Kenneth needs to find a temporary wife and after much research finds Katie. This short read will have you laughing, crying, and leave you with a warm heart. Be sure and read it to get all the details. You will love this clean, uplifting, short-read in the Quinn Valley Ranch Series!
Caroline Lee has hit a home run with this book! It is so good. I was in the middle of reading another book but set it aside to read this book this morning and I am so glad I did. There are so many emotions with this book. I was laughing, smiling, frowning and choked up with tears in my eyes. I love all the River's End Ranch books and now the Quinn Valley books but this is hands down the best! Thanks Caroline Lee for sharing with us!
Susan Weston is dying and all her son’s (Kenneth) money is unable to stop it. Convinced she is just waiting for him to marry and be happy, Kenneth sets out to find the perfect match for a fake marriage. Katie McIver likes her simple life and really isn’t interested in Kenneth’s “proposal”. What follows is a story that tugs at the heart strings and still has humor. It is an enjoyable story and I totally enjoyed it even if it brings a few tears to the eyes.
A sweet, heartfelt read that will have you laughing through tears!
An arrangement that started with the best of intentions, spirals out of control once feelings are involved. A story of love and loss that will have you crying and laughing through your tears. A reminder that we must be open to feel, both the joy and the pain. I'll always think of this story every year at Easter and smile.
This starts out with Kenneth picking Katie's video from a dating website. He has a short timeline to get married in. Katie figures he is a scammer when he offered 100K for a short marriage. She accepts so she can help out her sister. As usual, life and feelings get in the way. See how Katie helps Kenneth through a very tough time and makes him realize he loves her as much as she has come to love him.
Love this book. I like the real feelings, a down to earth billionaire, and bubbly Katie. And I'm thrilled there was not a vicious woman chasing Kenneth as is the case in many billionaire stories. The multimedia aspect is a really nice addition.
This reminds me of the love you loss when you loss your mother how you try to make the world seem perfect for your mother in her final days. It had me in tears its 20yrs since I lost my mum this year and this story reminds me off how we all felt
Emotional Beautiful And Unexpected Journey To Love
This is a rare gift to anyone who will read this book as it's an amazing and emotional journey that will touch your heart and soul with those rare an powerful moments as well as have you enjoying their endearing and unconditional love story as we go through their journey to love and family.
Very rarely do I cry about a book but this one I won’t ever forget. Such a wonderfully and completely written love story and about life. After learning this is based real people was amazing. God has blessed you with such a wonderful gift, thanks for sharing it with all of us.
Another wonderful book in the series. What a great way to cross over with the Weston's again. Kenneth needed a short-term wife. Katie believed marriage was an important step not for a temporary solution. She agreed anyway. But what happens when feelings get involved?
Would you marry a stranger for a small fortune?? What if he had a good reason and he was a decent guy? AND you can get out of it very soon after and keep the money! That's a sweet deal!!! Right??? Uh... Well.... Lol. You have to read it to believe it! Very, very good book! My favorite of Caroline Lee's books to date!
Katie and Kenneth's love story is unique and original. I found myself glued to the pages, waiting to see how it would all turn out and how the two families would react to their 'merger'. This is another wonderful addition to an amazing series and I can't wait to read more from both Caroline Lee and Quinn Valley.
Caroline Lee writes stories that really make you feel. Make sure you have tissues, you can expect to cry in some scenes, smile in others even to laughing out loud in others! I always become invested in her characters! I enjoy catching up on old and new friends! A MUST READ!!!
It's fantastic from beginning to end. So many heart wrenching scenes, some fun soap making (you got me hooked!), and of course romance. My favourite book of the series by far. Highly recommended!
Wow, this book was so good. It brought out the emotions. It brought tears to my eyes but made me laugh and left me with a smile. I absolutely loved Katie and Kenneth's story.
This will be my favorite Quinn Valley story. The Quin family and cousins are all delightful but this one touches the heart with true emotions of pain and humor. But mostly love and family.
This was the first book I have read by Caroline Lee but, I am sure it won’t be the last. It is so sweet and has a HEA story you can fall in love with. I couldn’t put it down and devoured it in a day. Enjoy!
I know I keep saying this with each review but this series just keeps getting better! I loved this story and all the emotion it created. Good thing I had a whole box of tissues. Kenneth and Katie made my heart grow ! Well written and so full of feeling
I love them all really, but this was my favorite book! It was easy to read, fast pace, with tears and comedy! Now I want to make soap too! Loved it, I was sad to see it end!
I really loved Katie. She is so 'real' and down to earth. The whole family, both her and his are engaging. Love Jacklyn's appearance. So true, that healing requires feeling your feelings. A nice read.
Another cute and entertaining story about two people who entered into a pretend marriage for the sake of his dying mother. Light hearted fast moving short story before reaching a happy ending.
In all honesty, I finished this book a couple of weeks ago and I had gotten it through KU, but I am going back and purchasing it. Caroline Lee has poured a lot of herself into this book and if you don't cry, you don't have a heart.
This is a very touching story of someone being patient and loving in pulling someone through grief. This is a very sweet story and one of the best in this series.
