Join Kit and her new husbands as they face the high courts of Hell to answer for River's dual nature as a Hellhound.
This is an epilogue novella and it's strongly recommended to read the full Kit Davenport series, including the bonus scene in the box set, for context.
I’m not really sure what the point of this short story was supposed to be. It was stated that it was a novella/epilogue, but all it did was leave us with way more questions and no answers.
Like what happened between Lachlan and Lucy? She was dating his twin brother. Why on earth to they have a hell hound for a pet when River just got part of his soul cut out? Who was sending all the threatening notes? What was the point of Ari and Shane? Why hasn’t that demon woman been dealt with since she keeps breaking several rules?
Not to mention all of the other questions from the original series that have yet to be answered. Ugh.
Omg I’m so sad, this was such a tease. A unfortunately quick but 100% enjoyable novella with Kit and her guys. As with the rest of the series it was hot, hilarious and well done. Even considering the short nature of this, it was surprisingly accurate in portrayal of the characters we know and love. Kits coffee addiction is almost worse than before, the twins continue to work best as a team (if u catch my meaning) and Kit is still the same old badass-take no prisoners-bitch we know and love. And the ending was hilarious and left me wanting more.
Fantastic quick read..enjoyed checking in with everyone again and getting to the bottom of Rivers situation. Everything ended so perfect. A must read after reading the Kit Davenport series.
Completely unnecessary addition to the series that resolves nothing and only adds more confusion to the original story.
Entire parts of this make no sense: When did Lucy and Lachlan become connected? She was dating Finn? Wasn’t she also not supposed to leave her realm? Why is Lahash allowed to run amuck when it’s noted (repeatedly) she’s breaking magical law? Kit herself is a healer, why couldn’t she heal whatever “damage” occurred from River’s “procedure”?
This is an epic novella that answers a few lingering questions. Fair warning, the ending DESTROYED ME. I initially felt so bad for River I almost rage-quit the book but Cole's reactions were so hilariously perfect. Awesome little addition to the series!!
This was cute. I did wonder about the four dark horsemen and rivers situation in the last book so I’m glad to have that wrapped up and answered. I do think this brought some questions up thought that are now unanswered but it is what it is.
ummm what was the point of this book, exactly? i thought it would be some intricate sex scene but no. they traveled to hell and disconnected river from one of his animals but for what? couldn’t it be just the end of the series? i wanted to finish this not so good series on a nice note but it ended with a cliff? in an extended epilogue? wast it for a spinoff of lucy’s books? was it really necessary?
also i hope i’ll never read a book with phrases like this:
I wish this were longer! I miss Kit and her guys and would love if the author ever decided to go back to this world. In this little novella, we deal with River's hellhound side and hell's threat to bring him in. I liked the couple romance scenes we got, but it wasn't enough and since this was so short we lacked a lot of details about the plot.
Please expand this Ms. James! I would be forever grateful!
Troppo veloce. È stata una novella carina, che ha chiuso un cerchio, ma ha anche lasciato un sacco di cose in sospeso e per sé non è sufficientemente sviluppata.
It was a fun little story. Left some particularly interesting questions unanswered, though. Like, what happened between Lucy and Lachlan (Finn's-Prince-of-Hell brother)? Also, how did they end up with potentially a hellhound puppy? Also, I'm dying for a little short story about all these manly men dealing with pregnancy, birth and an infant. I can just picture them crowding around a crib gazing lovingly at a tiny baby, and they make an adorable picture! LOL
If you liked the series, pretend this doesnt exist
Giving this 2 stars is generous. Nothing happens. I read the full series, and this is for me a terrible ending. It's not a happy ending at all. The ending to the original series was happy, and now this novella brings a bad situation and then just goes with it. Now AFTER the series is over, we're left with a cliff hanger and a stupidly sad ending.
2 stars mainly because I feel bad going it only 1 star. I did get to read a tiny bit more from the group.
I understand its a novella.. But 36 pages... Seriously. And why did we have to have a complicated plot for just 36 pages! I wish there was more... It would've been nice if it was just a book of them living happily ever after and the whole book was the after math of the war and them living it up on vacation.
Instead!!! You have more questions... 1- I wanna know when she has a baby and that goes. 2- who is trying to kill them 3- how is river after the hellhound is taken out 4- i want more twin sandwiches
I just want more.

Too many unanswered questions “a story for another day “. It’s the end, there’s no other day. Should’ve been the epilogue to the final book. If I never hear “twin sandwich” again it’ll be too soon.
Full disclosure, I have not read the series before reading this novella. I'm guessing this was after the series ended cause, they are all settled into their lives. Kitten is the ruler of the supernatural on the human side and she has six husband. All I can say is dang, six husband's!!!! In this story madame Fox and her six husband's are going on a vacation to Australia for Valentine's day. Their vacation gets cut short by someone going missing and having to go to the hell to find them. I really like all the characters personalities and I liked the storyline. I wish it was a little bit longer, but it was a good story regardless. This is random, but at one point kitten talks about drinking 14 cups of coffee in one day and it blew my mind. I don't know why this stuck with me. Like, if I drank 14 coffees I don't even know what would happen to me. Are their people that actually that much coffee a day? Any way, it was a good story and I definitely recommend it.

This novella was better than the actual last book in the series also I love Cole and man the prank he pulled on River at the end! LMAOOOOOOOO. But there clearly wasn't enough world-building because Kit was going around as Madam Fox and the whole world was accepting that casually a whole new race of superhumans exists and not getting envious or not thinking of them as test subjects? Yeah right as if that would happen. If it were the real world, there would be hate crimes, discrimination, racism, and experiments on this whole new species. Like the governments would be running some real dark operations and stuff on them. Plus with the introduction of angels and demons in the last few books, people would be turning real religious and/or cultists. But let's be glad it isn't the real world.

It was nice to duck back into this series (albeit briefly) and catch up with Kit and her boys but nothing really happened. I read the book in one sitting and although it was only a short novella, I was hoping for more from it. The storyline seemed unrealistic and not very well thought out but the characters remained true to themselves and were just as fun as before.
I think this would have been better if I had given some time before finishing the series and reading this novella but I went straight from one into the other and the novella just didn’t hold up.
It gets 3 stars because of the association with the previous series.
Not sure what the point of this Novella is. I normally don’t read novellas since they are not long enough to tell any real story and honestly very few actually help the bigger story. This Novella reaffirmed that belief. It started off well but then rushed to a quick HEA ending. I don’t think the author intends to come back to these characters for full length books in the future so it just seems odd to have a novella now after the series ended and not at all fulfilling for the reader.
This is a great novella to add to the Kit Davenport series. I would have liked more but with the way it ended, I'm kind of hoping there will be another novella to follow. Thanks, Tate James for giving us more of Kit and her hot harem.
We find Kit and her men in the future trying to manage the world knowing about the supernatural. Kit is in charge of them all and it's a lot of work. So the guys take her on holiday and while there the trouble they've been waiting for shows up.
River's Hellhound past has caught up with them. Even though it's got nothing to do with River, Fenrir's crimes are all Hell is concerned about. Now they must try to save River from Hell and get back to the earthly realm.
Can they convince the judges of Hell to let River go or will they lose him to Fenrir's crimes?
49 pages ????? WHYYYYYY! i .. must ... have .... more ..... I really wish there was more and that the ending was the ending river thought it was ( but not) but also, it was sorta perfect. EXCEPT, we didn’t ever get a GROUP ACTION as in all 6.. ya feel? that would’ve been nice 😏 there’s always next time tho! also, i feel kind weird bout the whole ‘seperatio thing...i don’t know all i know is that I NEED MOREEEEE
Yass! Who doesn't love a little more from Ms. James about Kit and her guys, especially River! This novella helped answer a few lingering questions at the end of the Kit Davenport series and gave those of us who fell in love with each of these characters a few more moments with them. Ms. James is a phenomenal author and this is my favorite series by her to date. If you have not read it, you are absolutely missing out! <3
