Pippa Parkin thinks she has it all under control...
For teaching assistant Pippa, life in her home town of Penmenna is reassuringly predictable. Between managing the Easter Egg Hunt and dealing with her annoying but well-meaning family, Pippa thinks she has it all sorted. That is until gorgeous new substitute teacher Kam Choudhury arrives at Penmenna School, and turns everything upside down.
Pippa and Kam are instantly drawn to each other, but their priorities and their working relationship make it very hard to be together. Can they find a way to reconcile their differences and find their Happily-Ever-After?
This heartwarming romance is perfect for fans of Tilly Tennant, Holly Martin and A. L. Michael.
📚 Series: Yes, but can be read as a standalone. 📚 Genre: Romance. 📚 POV: Alternating third person. 📚 Cliffhanger: No.
I have to admit I was drawn in by the beautiful cover. It was the cutest cover and I was glad my request to review was approved.
Pippa Parkin, a teaching assistant, and Kam Choudhury, the new substitute teacher experienced instant attraction after a quick conversation at the school parking lot. But their working relationship, and life, basically, is trying to get in the way. This story is a slow burn journey of a promising romance in beautiful Cornwall.
This is the third and last book in a series, but it can be read as a standalone. The students are definitely cute and funny. There are lots of funny and quirky stuff, actually. It is a good and light read.
Much thanks to NetGalley, Canelo and Kitty Wilson for this complimentary copy. This review is voluntary and opinions are fully my own.

Summer Love is the third book in the The Cornish Village School series. I have been eagerly waiting for this book all year!! I was glad that the author included Head Rosy Winter and games teacher Sylvie and of course Marion Marksharp from her previous stories.
Pippa Parkin was the Teaching Assistant at Penmenna Primary School. Pippa was happily single but her mum Jan was desperate for her to meet Mr Right. When James, Pippa`s childhood friend returned to Penmenna, Jan tried to match make and even shopped for a wedding hat. However James had changed since childhood and Pippa thought he was arrogant.
Pippa was happily single until newly qualified teacher Kam Choudhary came to Penmenna to cover maternity leave. Pippa and Kam instantly bonded, Kam was smitten, but he had a five year plan to get a full time teaching post and didn't want a girlfriend. After a one night stand Kam sent Pippa a letter declaring his love, but unfortunately Pippa did not receive it. Kam felt rejected and promised himself not to mention the letter to Pippa. Pippa meanwhile didn't understand why their tentative romance had ended so abruptly.
I liked Pippa and Kam, but I adored their overbearing mother's. I loved Geeta Choudhary and enjoyed the story of when she sat behind Kam on his first date. The best part of this book are it`s quirky characters and I liked Flynn the dog who visited his dead owners pub every night for a bowl of water and pork scratchings.
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and couldn't wait for the third book to come out. The cover was so attractive and I wasn't let down as the book was amazing and simply so well written I didn't want it to end. Was hooked from the first page and so great to be back in the Cornish village. It's heartwarming and funny and full of romance and families and work life and social life balance and being happy with the right person. Loved it so much I can't wait for another book hopefully to come out in the series. Pippa is a classroom assistant at the village school but is busy organising the Easter egg hunt her mum is desperate for her to find me perfect but she says she's not interested. In Fact her mum is desperate for her to go out with a local boy who she went to school with and grew up with but she's trying to make it clear to her mum that she doesn't like him and it won't happen. She's working and meets the new teacher who is covering a teacher on maternity leave and it's a make called Kam and when she sees him she has an attraction straight away. She starts going out in the evenings and when she gets totally drunk one night he takes her back to his but won't take advantage but what will happen when she wakes up and is sober will things change. He writes her a letter writing his true feelings for her and says if she feels the same to let him know and they can see if a they can separate work and social life and get to know each other. Sadly Pippa doesn't get the letter and can't work out why he's gone cool on her and has stopped texting her she thinks she's lost him. One day near the end of term as he's due to leave she gets given the letter and can now understand why he went cool virus it to late for her to make amends with him and for them to be a couple or not and will he be able to settle in the village and get a full time job or is it just to late and he thinks it is best to move on. Will both their parents be happy for their children or will they be left disappointed. A perfect read simply brilliant and worth far more than five stars highly recommend it to anyone.
What another fun read this proved to be - a great addition to the series! Pippa Parkin lives and works in the Cornish village of Penmenna where she's a teaching assistant. She first encounters Kam Choudhury when he is attempting to leave the school after a job interview there. His car won't start and she's dressed up as the Easter Bunny!! There's instant mutual attraction between the two but they're working together in the same class . . . . a situation where relationships will be frowned on! Anyway, Pippa's childhood boyfriend is back in the village and seems to want to rekindle their relationship. What will Pippa decide to do? Actually will she have any chance to make her own mind up as her Mum, Jan Parkin, can't resist matchmaking!
This is a lovely story of Cornish village life, with great characters, community events and interfering families all adding to the mix. As if Jan isn't enough, Kam's Mum, Geeta Choudhary, and his three sisters all get involved in this heartwarming romance. There's lots of banter between the siblings, matchmaking from both parents and a missing letter to cause misunderstandings! It is great to catch up on some of the characters from earlier books in this series, though Flynn in particular deserves a mention, but don't worry if you haven't read the others as I believe this will also work well as a standalone. I really hope there will be more to come in this series as I really want to know what's going on with Marion Marksharp - I'm sure there should be some revelations about her to come! I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this delightful location and its community again and have no hesitation in highly recommending it.
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.
I am loving this series so much, and enjoying every moment I get to spend in Penmarra amongst the teachers and pupils of school.
For an initial meet cute, what better can you get than Pippa in an headless easter bunny costume, attempting to fix Kam's car!!
I loved the connection between Kam and Pippa from the start, its just that as they are going to be working closely together they know they shouldn't act on it.
Add in two sets of interfering parents, another potential man for Pippa, and some adorable antics in the school are you are left with a rather pleasing story that is full of laughter and enjoyment.
Even scary PTA lady seems a bit more human in this one, even if the glimpses are few and far between.
A thoroughly enjoyable story, and I can't wait to see what happens next at the school, and its community.
Thank you to Canelo on Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Pippa Parkin is a Teaching Assistant at Penmenna School, a primary school in the idyllic Cornish village of the sane name. When fellow colleague Lynne goes on maternity leave, there's speculation as to who will be the substitute.
It turns out the ideal candidate is Kem Chaudhry, a man from a Hindu family in Middlesborough who finds himself in Penmenna after a breakup.
Pippa also has a man in her past, in the form of James who is still around in Penmenna. Will working together be too complicated for Pippa and Kem?
Summer Love is the third and final installment in the Cornish Village School series.
Old and new faces are in the book and it is fun, realistic and relaxing.
Thanks to Kitty Wilson and Canelo for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review as well as my space on the blog tour for this title.
I love this series! The setting, the lovely Penmenna is so vivid and gorgeous that again, I was transported there the second I begin to read.
On meeting both Pippa and Kam, both different in their own ways, I was again drawn in and confident that I would like them. There are of course many other characters, some likeable, many memorable from the other books, some not so likeable. I have to admit I jumped a little bit more for the events, activities and scenes with the children and the general bustle of the school, and although I really loved Pippa and Kam separately, their relationship for me could have been left as the rest of the story was enough for me to absolutely love this book. Very much recommended while this can be read as a standalone you have to have to get back to the first of the series!!) Thanks to Canelo and Netgalley for the book in return for an honest review.
Pippa and Kam, well, let's all admit that we know these two will eventually get together and that's just why this is a good read. As with the last book in the series, I admit that this one hits my sweet spots, starting with the Cornwall setting. Don't worry if you didn't read the earlier ones- while characters from those will pop up, the story here is a perfect standalone. The village is delightful, the students well pitched, and the story is delightful. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good relaxing read.
I fell in lovely with the lovely cover and then I fell in love with this book. It's heartwarming, well written and entertaining. The characters are likable and fleshed out, the setting is lovely. I look forward to reading other books by this author. Recommended. Many thanks to Canelo and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
Overall a good read. I’ve read one other in the series and preferred this book. There was a good flow and interesting, likeable characters. I always like to see old characters stories updates in an series. Moments of hilarity and plenty to make you smile about. An enjoyable summer read.
Happily single Pippa Parkin is a Teaching Assistant at Penmenna Primary School. Her mum Jan is desperate to change her status into "in relationship", so when Pippa's childhood friend James returns to to Penmenna, Jan tries her hand at match - making. However, Pippa has other plans and maybe, just maybe, they involve the new substitute teacher Kam Choudhury? There is this instant attraction between them, however, Kam had a five year plan to get a full time teaching post and didn't plan and distractions, and Pippa understands this but well, heart wants what it wants, right? After a night spent together, Kam sends Pippa a litter where he declares her his love but Pippa doesn't receive it, until it's probably too late!
This is the third and, as far as I know, last part in The Cornish Village School series, and I bitterly regret that I haven't read the two previous books! Yes, I think you can read it as a standalone, and while characters from the previous stories do pop up, the story focuses on Pippa and Kam and you really don't have to know what has happened in the two previous books. But I want to! Going immediately on wish - list, those two babies.
The characters were so well - drawn! Sure, they were a bit too far fetched sometimes but altogether they were quirky, bouncy and full of life, and not only the main characters, but also the background ones. Pippa and Kam were great as leading persons, but I also loved their overbearing mothers, Kam's sisters, Pippa's family and the whole rest. And Flynn the dog deserves a honourable mention! There is so much humour and love between the characters, and they really come to life, thank to Kitty Wilson's light writing. It was a real delight to get to know the Penmenna crowd.
It was incredibly light - hearted read with the best banter between the characters in the world. The writing style is conversational and welcoming, full of warmth and humour and it flows so seamlessly forward. Altogether, it was a simple, heart - warming, full of gorgeous romance book about (interfering) families, friendship and community. You can of course predict the end and know there are going to be some challenges to overcome on the way to the happy end but it's really well written and entertaining, a real joy to read. Recommended!
Copy provided by the publisher in return for an honest review.
I absolutely adored this book! It was so good to be back at The Cornish Village School. I so adored the blossoming relationship between Pippa (the TA of the most cutes little school in the world) and the new teacher, the dashing Kam. I inhaled the book in one sitting - I think this is the best way - just for the pure joy and the entertaining plot. I felt like I am coming back to my favourite holiday destination. I was also lovely to see where all the other characters from the previous two books are at and how they are getting on. Kitty Wilson's writing style is witty, engaging and so heartwarming. I loved this book!
Heartwarming, adorable, cute, lovely, so sweet. Can you tell I adored this book ! It’s such a well written lovely book, brings a smile to your face. I hadn’t read the others but I didn’t feel I was missing out on anything at all. Fabulous read with lovely relatable characters. Thoroughly recommended as a happy read.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Fabulous feel good, magical, mystical, joyous, amazing, fabulous book. Loved it. This boom will make you smile and is a great book to read when you don’t want to think too hard. Fab.
A book of an idyllic Cornish village and school, with a romantic story at its heart, this is a novel which hits many targets for a relaxing and entertaining read. Although the third in the series, this book works well as a stand alone novel, as each book is built around different main characters. There are characters who are mentioned in every book, but it is certainly not essential to know their stories. In this book, Pippa is a teaching assistant in the first class, and much is made of her extravagant personality and her singular dress sense. She meets Kam, who is hoping to establish a teaching career in Cornwall, and who soon becomes more than just a colleague. Both of them have families who are keen that they should settle down; indeed Pippa’s mother Jan has a prime candidate in mind for her daughter, James, who is capable of showing two faces. Kam’s family from Middlesbrough are also keen to see him with a wife, preferably nearer than Cornwall. Both Pippa and Kam have significant friends who despite their idiosyncrasies want the best for them, and will make suggestions. The central focus of this book is answering the question: can Pippa and Kam ever be together when so much seems against them.
The book opens with Piipa, in half of her Easter bunny costume, meeting a young man who has apparently just been interviewed for a part time temporary job at Penmenna school. It seems that Kam is attractive and has a sense of humour that matches her own, but there is no guarantee that they will ever see each other again. Meanwhile, Pippa must cope with the terrifying Marion Marksharp, chair of the PTA who tries to rule teaching staff and parents alike. Then her friend Lottie, who wants to be a taxidermist, is on hand with friendly advice. Her family reintroduce the son of a family friend, James, who seems an ideal potential match. However, it soon becomes obvious that he is concealing a terrible ego. Kam, meanwhile, is soon totally smitten by Pippa, but aware that his five year plan does not allow for diversions into romance. Can any relationship survive such pressures?
This is a book of real humour and realistic dialogue. The characters are memorable and well written in every detail. The obsessive mother who cooks compulsively, the children who panic about the school hamster, Sir Squeaks-a-lot, the community pub and the local festivals, all have the ring of truth. The area is so well described as being full of beauty, beyond that which is seen by tourists. Pippa is a well drawn character, with her sense of humour and interest in vintage clothing. The plot is not explosive, but well paced and worked out, even with its obvious hiccup. The dialogue is realistic and funny, reflecting the characters well. This is a terrifically entertaining book with plenty of telling details and contemporary interest. I recommend it as a lighthearted read to fans of contemporary fiction.
So good to be back in the Cornish village of Penmenna, for my third visit.
Pippa Parkin is a teaching assistant at the village school and life for her is reassuringly predictable, which is just the way she likes it.
But things are about to change, as new substitute teacher, handsome Kam Choudhury, arrives at Penmenna school and turns everything upside down.
Pippa and Kam are instantly drawn to one another, and that's not taking into account that at their first meeting Pippa was dressed up as the Easter Bunny, complete with large floppy ears.
But priorities and their working relationship make it very hard for them to be together, despite their slightly over bearing, if very well meaning families, determined to be involved in their respective lives at every single turn.
None of this is helped by the reappearance of a ( not altogether welcome ) face from Pippa's past, and a big misunderstanding on both their parts.
Is it possible for them to reconcile their differences, and find their happily ever after ?
If you're familiar with the previous two books in the series, you will definitely recognise all the characters going about their lives in the village.
If you haven't read anything by this author before, then I highly recommend you do, I don't think you will be disappointed.
I'm already looking forward to the next book in this fabulous series.
The content of this book is lots of things I love and could relate to:- I’m a teacher who found many of the classroom moments and antics in this book very relatable and laughed at the trueness of some of the mishaps- yellow paint being one! Ive love holidaying in Cornwall and liked that I could relate to some of the places mentioned, my house rabbit is called Pippa so when reading that the character Pippa was dressed as an Easter bunny within the first chapter I was instantly interested and it is a fun, lighthearted cute little story. So I loved this book but equally I did not love it as much as I thought- the way it was written didn’t always leave me wanting more or give me that ‘hooked’ feeling, although I wanted to read it and find out more I didn’t find myself walking around the house reading it whilst going about my every day chores. I will read the others in the series and did find it a likeable book but perhaps a little disappointed that it wasn’t as ‘wow’ as I wanted it to be although this could’ve been my expectations. All round an easy, lighthearted read that’s perfect for the summer holiday.
As soon as I started Summer Love, I felt immediately at home back in the village, catching up with some familiar characters. Pippa is a lovely addition with a quirky and individual streak and an endearing family to get to know. Kam arrives in the village as an outsider but is soon welcomed in. I enjoyed meeting his family too. As Kam and Pippa realise, they have a lot in common, especially their mothers' desires for their futures. At heart, we have a pair who are kind and sympathetically drawn.
There are plenty of humorous moments in the story. All the siblings offer their own views on life in the village and there is plenty of banter and chat which gives it a credible feel. How the school puts up with Marion, of the PTA, I am not sure but I have a feeling that there is more to come in her story- I am hoping we get to read it. Beautiful Cornwall features as ever. You can't beat this for a summer weekend read.
In short: Sun, sea, friends and family goings-on in beautiful Cornwall.
I've not read any of the other books in this series but I don't think I needed to in order to enjoy this book.
It's fun to read something completely unlike other romance fiction books and there aren't too many books like this with a school setting in the background.
How Pippa and Kam met at the start of the book is hilarious. Pippa's wearing an Easter bunny costume ready to hide Easter eggs for the school egg hunt. She realises she's left some eggs in the car when she sees Kam's car broken down in the school car park and sends him to her father to have it repaired. Their connection is instant and as soon as they realise they'll be working together in a professional capacity they know they shouldn't act upon it.
Both sets of parents are hilariously determined to marry off their children, though it seems like they don't mind who to at times! Kam's mum in particular is a hilarious character.
An enjoyable light read, which you can easily read as a stand alone. Highly recommended!
So romantic. Really loved this book. I transported me to sunny Cornwall when I needed it.
The two main characters are madly chrushing on each other but either is too scared to talk of it which leads to misunderstandings along the way. Oh my. It was so sweet to follow these two - Pippa and Kam.
Really well written with totally believable characters and a great pace throughout the book. Loved every page.l

Such a lovely book about pippa parkin and kam chloudbery meeting in a car park as a bunny to them working together trying to keep professional although it was love at first sight and then pippa got the wrong letter and kam ghosted her although it was all a missunderstanding and pippa confesses her love in a school feild event dressed as a joker I loved this book romantic but not overly romantic such a great read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ would recommend for anyone

This the third book in the series set in a small village school in Cornwall, my favourite part of the world. This time it is Pippa, a Teaching Assistant, and Kam, a new teacher on maternity cover. Full of humour and romance it paints a picture of this community that I'd love to join, especially if it included a pint or two of Rattler.
I picked up 3 books in The Cornish Village School series by Kitty Wilson. This is Summer Love and follows the story of Pippa and Kam. A really enjoyable read featuring the lovely Cornish town of Penmenna, great characters and a good story. I'm looking forward to reading the other two books I have now.
I really enjoyed this book but found the end a bit hard to believe and to be honest a bit cringey but up until this point really enjoyed the story and the characters. One thing that bothered me was the book was littered with editorial mistakes, typos as well as spelling mistakes which personally really bothers me when I’m reading. Still a nice read but not my favourite.
Unfortunately this had just too many editing issues.. spelling mistakes.. grammar errors.. words missing from sentences.. and whole parts of the paragraphs were repeated all be it slightly reworded.. like she could have said the same thing in about 20 fewer words.. almost as though she needed to up the word count …not one of her best in the series.. I prefer Holly Martin’s romance books.
This book was wonderful - it made me laugh so much. I started to giggle during the first few pages and carried on... the author's turn of phrase is just so witty. But it's also a lovely, touching, love story - a perfect holiday read.
This book makes you feel warm and comfortable as soon as you start reading it,you feel like you are there in the village with all the chats enjoying it like the are. A great feel good amusing read thank you
I loved the story about Kam and Pippa. Although they worked together they couldn't help there feelings for each other. This is the third book in this series. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Another great book in ten series about the Cornish village school with this one focusing on the summer term. Pippa a teaching assistant falls madly in love with a new teacher Kam but there are lots of ups and downs. A wonderful lighthearted read.
