Read with my son when he was in first grade.* A good book to work on words for young readers.

What kind of Emergency Room or Urgent Care can make this story end well? Fact is (at least, a fact in the fictional world where stuffed animals walk and talk), terrifying accidents happen.

However, this appears to be a picture book world. Which means that most likely, all endings are happy. And those walking-talking animals produce their own money, can buy whatever they like, and never have a parent. Come to think of it, no wonder animal books like this are so popular.

Scary-ish but true, Elliot -- the stuffed moose -- catches his leg on a nail. Soon his stuffing threatens to come out. Oh, horrors!

However, Elliot gets by with a little help from his friends.

Another cute story about Elliot and friends from Andrea Beck. This time Elliot's run into a bit of a snag - literally. He's snagged his leg and has a hole. All his friends band together to try to fix it with varying results. Can be a good lesson in understanding the virtues of knowing how to sew!
