Gathers awkward, inappropriate, and confusing statements made by President Bush, and discusses what they reveal about his thought processes and political ideals
"I'm delighted that Barbara Bush is with me today, and I--she got a good, clean bill of health yesterday from Walter Reed Hospital, I might add, and then--But I'm taking another look at our doctor. He told her it's okay to kiss the dog--I mean--no--it's okay to kiss your husband, but don't kiss the dog. So I don't know exactly what that means."
Much funnier, and much more bizarre, than his son's bons mots. Though George the First couldn't compete with his vice president for hilariously stupid quotations (e.g. "What a terrible thing it is to lose one's mind, or never to have had one...")
Because I am exactly the kind of elitist snob who enjoys laughing at someone who sounds like a moron, but holds a degree from one of the most influential private schools in the nation.
I don't really remember H.W. being President, really. However, he was the president shortly after I was born. I've heard a number of things about his presidency (not to mention stuff about his VP). Most of this little book was funny. Kind of interesting to find out you wouldn't be wrong in saying the Apple didn't fall far from the tree. His son said odd stuff, too. Idk. I liked it.
