"Kill them all" is about the religious genocide committed by the Church against the Cathars of the Languedoc region of France in 1209. Raymond V, count of Toulouse has to choose between saving the souls or the lives of his subjects.
In one night 25,000 souls were burned to death in Bezier with the "Kill them all, God will recognise his own."

my link textPerhaps only the sack of Jerusalem and Constantinople can compare with the genocide committed in the Laguedoc which started in 1209 and lasted for 20 years. The Crusade against the Cathars was justified as a "holy war" against heretics.
The pity of it all is that mankind never seems to learn from history and therefore is doomed to make the same mistakes over and over again. War never solves anything; it only impoverishes all - even the victor. Today, instead of religion we use excuses such as "peace", "democracy" and "freeing oppressed people from their own tyrannical leaders" and the "need to protect the free world from weapons of mass destruction," when in fact we all see reality from a different perspective, have different reference frame works or interepret religious truths in different ways. But regards ours as the only or absolute Truth./a>
