Sorry, I just couldn't help myself but decide to be a dork and read this. Being that my name is Ariel, I've ALWAYS gotten asked if I was named after the little mermaid or not (That's a yes for everybody wondering). Anyway, considering it's a kids book, I thought it was pretty well written for a younger age group. In fact, really the only things that irritate me about the book is that it does kind of cut some things out, and that there is another "Little Mermaid" book for younger children, and like half the pictures in both books are the same drawings basically just photocopied to each book.
once upon a time, there was a child, she felt sad,the man called name as emerald ask her"why are you sad?the girl answer,"i lose my mom"can you help me to find my mom?
Great book. Not a whole lot of reading to do, mostly pictures. The writing that there is gives a good story telling though. I really enjoy going back and reading some children's books.
A young mermaid princess yearns for a human soul and falls in love with a prince whom she rescues from drowning. She exchanges her voice with the Sea Witch in return for legs, experiencing excruciating pain with every step she takes. The prince weds another, mistakenly believing that she is the one who saved him. Confronted with the choice of killing the prince to reclaim her place in the sea, she declines and transforms into sea foam, yet she earns the opportunity for an immortal soul through her virtuous actions. The narrative shifts from a melancholic tone to one of adventure, highlighting themes of romance and heroism. Ursula is portrayed as a more whimsical antagonist, culminating in a heroic confrontation. True love's kiss ultimately rescues Ariel, guaranteeing a joyful conclusion and a human existence. The story underscores the importance of friendship, the value of one's voice, and the journey of personal development over the quest for spiritual salvation.
This is definitely a girl book about princesses. The color coordination with the story work out well. Since this story is under the sea then there are a lot of blue to coordinate water. This story has a few more words per page but it could be helpful for readers that want more storyline detailed to read. I like how the main characters are big on the pages and the words move around the page as the pictures are produced.
This was my favorite picture book when I was a toddler. I still remember being read the book and watching the movie to go along with it. The ridiculously large size of this book meant that the illustrations were also blown up and made the story that much better to get into!
The little mermaid is about when she lost her voice then she become a human then she met this guy prince Eric And they use to hang out she found the neckless she broke it then her voice and back then she had to go live her father

Absolutely LOVED this story! It follows the Disney movie 100% !! If you want to get your children interested in reading, this is the perfect way, having their favorite movies turned into stories!!
I listened to the Audible Original audiobook performed by Leigh-Anne Pinnock. I enjoyed the story and the performance, which was enhanced by some wonderful music.
