Mecha Origin #2

As the Cog Turns

Rate this book
Wulff's cogs are in a jam because of Ursy, his best friend's little sister. Only she's not so young and bratty anymore. And she's got a nice set of gears.

However, Wulff has no intentions of stealing her upgrades. Nor is he interested in bedding her, even if she makes his parts steam. He really should stay away, and yet he enlists her aid in tracking down a treasure.

A mission that's going fine until the kiss.

Now, he can't help seeing her in a new light, but Ursy isn't interested in a relationship, even as she invites him to her bed.

Problem is he wants more than just a temporary meshing of their parts. He won't settle for anything less than her heart.

~ New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author

Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.

As The Cog Turns by Eve Langlais

2nd book in the Mecha Origin series. A steampunk sci-fi romance. Can be read as a stand-alone adventure, but best read after the first book for more background on the characters, gears, and world-building.

Ursy was chasing after her big brother and his gang of friends since she was a little girl. Wulff used to think of Ursy as a pesky little tag-a-long but lately he has noticed what a beautiful woman she is. Traveling together in search of gears has the two reconsidering the siblings attitude into a more intimate relationship.
Now if only they would admit their attraction out loud to each other instead of living in denial.

I love Wulff and his willingness to follow Ursy and his understanding of why she hits in reaction to frustration or anger. He’s also adorable in his jealousy.

Entertaining and amusing. An easy, fast and sexy read.
There is an overall series arc on the gears they are chasing, so this couple gets their HEA, but not all is resolved. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

As the Dog Turns

This author has got the most fantastic imagination Her characters always have awesome personalities and many are strong determined women who could kick butt like any man. Her description of her characters and surroundings always give you a clear picture of what she was thinking. This book is the story of Ursy and Wulff who are secretly attracted to each other but thinks the other one isn't and their journey to danger and happiness.

Love love loved it!

Awesome story, with action that continued until the very last page! As I was reading, at the end, I truly had no idea how Ursey and Wulff would get out of their troubles, and was as surprised as the couple with the outcome. All around, entertaining, well written, and easily captured my attention!

I loved the protesting, too much, between Wulff and Ursy, until they both finally, said, whatever, and accepted their fate to be together! The play on words, circumstances, and lore was so much fun, nearly as much fun as the banter. The mystery deepens though, and can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series to see where it takes us!

Loved it!

I loved how the couple went from secretly liking each other to doing it quite openly. And the plot thickens!

I really liked this introduction to a fabulous new world. I read the rest of the series, although I felt the ultimate ending was a bit deflating, it was a very fun ride.
