The Gods Are Back in Town!
Well, to be precise, they never left...

Just because people stopped believing in them, didn't make them disappear, and Hades, Apollo, Ares, Poseidon, and Zeus are all as about town as they ever were. They just have different names...

Ziel Dearil is the God of the dead and the King of the Underworld. With his guardians at his side, demi-god Orpheus, and hero Icarus, he's been ruling his rather boring realm with an iron fist since time began!

Then, everything changes when Cressida Jonas walks into their world!

When Hades informs the multi-platinum-selling, multi award-winning singer that she's his wife, any normal woman might have run screaming for the hills. Cressida, on the other hand, sees this as an opportunity to get revenge on the man who wronged her eighteen months ago!

Falling for three guys was never a part of the program, just vengeance. But of course, the Fates have a way of messing with the best laid plans!

See what they have in store for Cressida, Hades, Icarus, and Orpheus in HOTTER THAN HADES!

So I suppose this is where I’d jump up and down squealing about how much I enjoyed this book. I loved it for so many reasons. Despite it being about the effects of rape it felt like a super warm blanket and hot cocoa. The guys are great, the story is engaging, and I did like the next book being teased throughout because they are pretty much standalone.

One of my favorite things about this book was the choice in guys, its not ‘here puny human have five gods that could smite you with one finger’ its one god and two guardians. Icarus was one of my favourite myths so I’m happy he got in.

- The Greek gods modernized right
- Multiple POV
- No coddling just support
- HEA standalone
- Ghost friend (I am very much into the ghost friends right now)

Bring on Apollo!

Hotter than Hades
The Gods Are Back in Town, Book 1
By: Serena Akeroyd
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott

Wow, this book is amazing, it swept me right in and held my attention captive straight to the end. Serena Akeroyd is a gifted author, the storylines and characters she created are interesting and imaginative. I adored the lead female Cressida, I admired her strength despite all she had been through, while parts of her were broken but she hid it well. I was intrigued by Nash right from the start, I wondered what his deal was, the real deal. I was glad that Cressida let him him, he was great for her and when he brings her to meet Hades and Christian, she is taken back at first but she handled all the new information quite well. I must say, OMG, what an impressive modern day take on the Greek Mythological Gods. I love how everything plays out in this book for Cressida and her Gods, Hades, Orpheus aka Nash and Icarus aka Christian. Great twist for her best friend Ella too. There is never a dull moment in this book, it is well plotted with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, humor, some great twists, heartfelt moments and hot romance. Serena Akeroyd thank you for this amazing story, I loved everything thing about it and I am looking forward to what comes next in “The Gods are Back in Town” series, I hope it is coming to audible soon.

I listened to the Audible edition, Kai Kennicott is a fantastic narrator and voice artist. She brings the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. Her portrayal fo the characters is spot on, they sound as you pictured them. Kai is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen🎧

Blew me away

I am blown away by the way this story was written. The characters were amazing. Cressy was a very complex character and with everything she went through it made her even more incredible. I mean seriously you could feel her emotions coming right through the pages. This is definitely my fav book of this year.
This is not like other books and I know it might come off a little cliche but it's not. The Gods are not in charge like other stories and in fact they are not just relegated into their own realms. There really isn't any pettiness going back and forth. There is some real drama but it is substantial.
I really liked Hades and the way the author wrote him he wasn't all that narcissistic and annoying. This is definitely a good read.

I need to talk to the Fates and see if they can add me to the "Wife of a God" list in my next life!

This series is everything I thought it would be and more. The concept of the Fates doling out wives to the Gods - who need guardians to balance their increased powers - is unique and intriguing, and the world that they live in is detailed and well written. I adored Cressida and her Gods. I mention this almost every review, but I'm constantly in awe of the author's ability to write strong females and then pair them with guys who are so totally devoted to their woman that you can't help but swoon over them. That dynamic is one that will win with me every time. Hades, Orpheus, and Icarus all have individual voices with differences that will make you fall for each of them. There are moments that will make you literally LOL and some that will bring you to tears. The emotional highs and lows are always what get me when I read this author. Highly recommend...and you might as well plan on picking up book 2 because you'll adore this series and need more!

Fun stand alone

Serena Akeroyd is a very versatile writer. Not all of her books will appeal to every one, but she has a knack for writing such wildly different stories that there's sure to be something for everyone. I loved her Quintessense series but this one wasn't a favorite.

There were several points were the narrative just didn't match the storyline. It sometime felt like she wrote this with a thesaurus in hand. Words popped up that technically fit but just didn't feel right.

The sex scenes were hot. I loved the guys' personalities, especially Hades. Ella was a lot of fun in the beginning and a great friend to Cressy. Also, it's always refreshing to read a stand alone. I love series but sometimes I want a stand alone that I can enjoy without devoting a ton of time to a series.

Basically, this ticked all the boxes, except for the usually wording. I definitely recommend this and I'll give it a solid 4.5.

I finished Hotter Than Hades last night. When I started this book, I was a little nervous if I'd enjoy it because i'm typically normally a middle of the road RH girl. (Even though I know way more about the paranormal and Greek Mythology than I care to admit, lol.)

I loved this book and I was hooked immediately. I felt Cressy's anxiety, pain and her glory. Let me say, I am all about the term "Book Boyfriends." Before HTH, I don't think I would have classified Hades, Orpheus and Icarus as possible men I wanted to do rude things to me. Nope, didn't think i'd ever drool over the God of the Dead and the one who flew too close to the sun. Holy skulls, those wicked men changed all of that. Cue bucket for drool. Yum-o.

I can't wait to get to book two and see what's in store for Ella and her Apollo. Very intrigued.......

Hotter than Hades

Cressy has been down for a while, with what happened in her past. Nash sees how she is on stage at her concerts and finds she is only closest with one person, her best friend Ella. That is until Cressy gets a phone call. Nash deems it necessary to take her to meet Christian and Ziel. What Cressy doesn't know is that she is dealing with an actual God, a demi-god, and a hero. What is in store for her is some total hot men making her see that they will be there for her no matter what! This book is totally worth the read! 5 stars. Loved it! And oh the way to use some ghost to protect the ones you love. I need me some more!

A nice story that leaves you wanting more.

I was instantly into the story and loved all the characters. Particularly, what was going on with the Cress’s best friend and her connection to Apollo; she was a mystery in an otherwise refreshingly, straight forward romance. It’s always nice to read a story with tough female characters who don’t wallow too much in denial when confronted with the supernatural. My only wish would be that it was over 3 books instead of crammed into one so I could enjoy Serena writing for longer.

This book was an epic story. I loved the use of Greek Gods, ive always been a sucker for books that have Gods in play. Kiel, Nash and Christian brought the perfect mix of sexy, protectiveness, power and love. I can not wait to read the 2nd book to find out what happens next and i just know i won't be disappointed.
I have a real soft spot for vengence after being victimized, and i adore that she was totally into it.
thankyou for another great book.
the narrator also did a wonderful job bringing the story to life.

Beautiful

To be honest, I had kind of expected this book to be super steamy with a touch of story, but I was actually so surprised (in the best way) to discover that this book has an incredible story. It is deep, emotional, intriguing and totally immersive. I loved it so much. Each character is totally unique and I couldn't help but fall in love with them. "Hotter Than Hades" is a great twist on Greek Mythology set in the modern world and I totally recommend it. Well done to Serena Akeroyd for another fabulous book.

This is one of my favorite Serena titles! I love mythology and this title brings all my favorite things about mythology back to life by bringing gods and demigods back. We’ve got full gods with demigods as their companions and protectors and demigoddesses as their counterparts. When it’s revealed why these pairing have come to be, I was beyond excited! I can’t wait for more in this series as Serena untangles more of the mythology and heats up the ancient world with these retellings and history lessons.

Hotter than Hades

I loved this book so much. I was hooked from the very beginning. Reading everything that Cressida suffered through broke my heart. I felt so bad for her but thoroughly enjoyed seeing her get her spark back thanks to the love and care of Hades, Orpheus and Icarus. How can you not love them? Each have a personality that makes them desirable. They are absolutely perfect. I can’t wait to read Ella’s story.

The book Hotter Than Hades lives up to it’s title. The heroine has had a rough time for sure (may be a trigger for some), but her heroes do a fantastic job stepping in, helping her come back into her own and exact revenge. Hades is the best—I love a good, imperfect, hot alpha :) I enjoyed this book a great deal and would recommend it to anybody that likes a fun mix of modern romance and mythology.

Greek Gods

I absolutely loved this book both reading and audio. Cressida is a very strong FMC. I must admit I fell in love with Nash before Christian or Hades. This story pulled on the heart strings in more way than one. I can't wait to read the next book by Serena Akeroyd.

I really enjoyed this story. Cressida has been wronged in her past and isn't herself. When she is suddenly made aware she is the wife to 3 men, one of them a God, her life changes for the better. Revenge is number one on her list. This story had me laughing several times. It's different from your typical mythological God stories. Who knew the Gods were still alive and messing with peoples lives. Her best friend Ella is the best.

Oh my gods, this book grabbed hold of me and didn't let go until I finished it. The gods are back in town and what do gods do best? Interfere with human lives. Here one human heart will captivate three hearts of gods. The road is not smooth, but so worth it. Heat and humour rounds up a fabulous book!

The Gods are here

This story is about Hades, Orpheus and Icarus. The story flowed, the characters were great and the writing was on point. When Cressy describes her feelings as a zit was awesome. Totally looking forward to Apollos book.
