Your Escape Into A World of Dark Mysteries & Spicy Romance.
Bryce Simpson did the only thing he could. He spurned Marjorie Steel. Even though he’ll be living on her ranch, he is determined to stay away from her. She’s worthy of more than he can even think about giving, especially now that long-buried memories are surfacing and he’s learning that his father’s sins may go even deeper than he imagined.
Bryce’s rejection destroys Marjorie, and she descends to a dark place she thought she’d abandoned forever. She emerges stronger, though, and is determined not to let heartbreak rule her life. Change is the answer, she’s sure, so she makes plans—plans that include a handsome personal trainer she meets at the gym.
When Bryce and Marjorie are thrown together, though, their ravenous hunger for each other takes over, leaving both of them more vulnerable than they realize.
#1 New York Times, #1 USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Helen Hardt's passion for the written word began with the books her mother read to her at bedtime. She wrote her first story at age six and hasn’t stopped since. In addition to being an award winning author of contemporary and historical romance and erotica, she’s a mother, an attorney, a black belt in Taekwondo, a grammar geek, an appreciator of fine red wine, and a lover of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. She writes from her home in Colorado, where she lives with her family.
Woah.... what the hell Helen? Why you gotta do that? Why you gotta end it like that? And why the hell am I even surprised? You do this every chance you get, and everyone knows you are the Queen of Cliffhangers! Gah!
Alright, so where to start? Firstly, if you are new to this series/author, you need to know that this series cannot be read as a standalone and you will have to start from Craving (Book 1) to get any sense of what’s actually going on. This series is not for the faint of heart. It tackles some pretty intense topics and could possibly be a trigger for some...
And now, holy crap... I am at this author's mercy when it comes to this series of books. I have been from the start. Ms. Hardt knows how to pull her readers in and keep their attention from start to finish.
I'm not sure how I am going to review this and keep it spoiler-free, but here goes...
Marj had always come across to me as an out-going, fun, loving, kind-hearted character, and she is all those things, but as we dive in deeper to her part of this insanely intense, all-consuming and crazy story, I see a much deeper level to Marj, one that kind of hits home for me in away. Her brother may have been the one that has gone through the worst of the worst when it comes to trauma and all this hell that has consumed this family through their childhood and now as adults.... But Marj also struggles herself with everything that's happened... and I feel it leaves her with some underlining issues. Well, of course, it would. Especially after the way, Bryce left her at the end of Breathless (Book 10) and the way she copes with it was heartbreaking and so damn real for me. I sure as hell did not see it coming though... But she doesn't stay down for long. She gets back up on her two feet, fighting to be stronger and not let this heartbreak eat her alive, and she makes plans, plans in which she hopes will help her rid herself of these feelings she has for her brother's best friend... She meets someone new at the gym and starts to move forward... Or so I thought...
Bryce? I am torn when it comes to him. Apart of me wants to reach into the book and slap this dude upside the head after what he does to Marj. But the other part of me? My heart breaks for this man. He's been through hell and back just as much as the Steel family. After finding out the truth about who his now-dead father is and was, he struggles to let go of it and find peace in his life. He holds guilt among so much more emotions, and that guilt has planted itself deep and left him with some deep-seated issues that are now affecting his everyday life, and especially his love life.
These two together? Well damn... They can't deny the way they feel about each other, and as much as they fight it, it's still there and even though Bryce is trying to keep his distance that is seeming to be very difficult, not only because he is Marj's brothers best friend but because he can't keep away her. His heart lies with her, and he can try and fight that and push her away all he likes, but the heart wants what the heart wants...
Nothing is as it seems for this family. Just when things start the ease and the water around this family calms... Something major happens and throws everyone off guard, including myself!! just when I thought this family had been through enough... Ms. Hardt throws me off my game and delivers a plot thick with twists and turns, mystery and suspense that had me on the edge of my seat gripping my kindle so tight that I am surprised it didn't snap in two.
What does the future hold for Bryce and Marj? If there is a future for them. What has the author got up her sleeve?
As always, Helen blows my mind and weaves her words together and delivers another amazing installment to the Steel Brothers Saga. Be prepared for the unexpected. Be prepared for this author rip your heart out while it's pounding a mile a minute and then... THEN she will leave you on one hell of a cliffhanger and questioning your own sanity...
One thing I can say is... READ. THE. BOOK!!
UGHHH, Hurry up, January... Hanging by a thread here.
Miss Hardt certainly know know how to write suspense. With all the drama, Ravenous is better than the previous book.
I usually do not like the character feels sorry for themselves. In this case, Bryce. But listening to the whole story I know it is necessary for Miss Hardt to make it that way. Good thing Marjorie is a a character who can stand on her ground.
No no no no nooooooo. I'm not able for this ending at all. The suspense, tension, sexual chemistry it's all on overload !! Can't wait for the next book.
Holy MoFo! That ending was like reaching the edge of a cliff without even knowing until after you’ve taken that last step and fallen over that edge.
Ravenous continues with the high levels of suspense and mystery one would expects from the Steel Brothers Saga. With each installment, including this one, the characters and it’s readers are one step closer to answers as well as still uncovering clues that lead to more questions. One step forward, two steps back...and all that.
This series has been one of the most intriguing I have come across. Marjorie Steel and Bryce Simpson are the last two characters to work hard at uncovering the truth of everything that happened to and because of their families. Both plagued with their own sense of guilt they’re a perfect match for support and love is in each other. Their foundation has been building for a lifetime and in RAVENOUS they’ve finally come to terms with their feelings and Bryce is ready to stake his claim.
But so much is still ahead to uncover and their happily-ever-after is still over that horizon they’re trying so hard to reach. With the help of her brothers and their wives, I know they’ll get there and finally find the peace they all deserve.
Helen Hardt continues the Steel Brothers Saga with arguably my favorite book in the series--a story that has sealed in Bryce Simpson and Marjorie Steel as my favorite couple of the saga to date. What an incredible pair of people--and it's not because they're that perfect. It's because they're both that IMperfect. Their humanity, complete with flaws and insecurities and mixed-up conflicts, is what had me turning the pages, fascinated and captivated with their growing attraction. In so many ways, the pair are dealing with similar things--ghosts of their past and parents who made mistake to taint those ghosts--but they're also facing things on their own that aren't pretty or easy to fix. In short, they're struggling to be better people, and learning that a person doesn't have to be whole or flawless to fall in love. It's a moving message, told by beautiful, sympathetic characters. I was utterly enraptured with this book--and now am truly ravenous for more!
Oh my gosh this book is sooooo good. Let me start with this is the 11th book in the series and you MUST have read the other ones first or you will not understand this one!!!
Now that that’s out of the way!!! This book is phenomenal, helen never ceases to amaze me at the awesome twists and turns she sends her books in!
Bryce and Marj’s connection runs super deep and neither of them can stay away from either other. There’s only 1 problem Bryce doesn’t know how to get past the fact that he is his father’s son! How will that impact this story! You have to read to find out.
But I will tell you that the chemistry in this book is super hot! And this book leaves you turning the pages so fast that it feels like a whirlwind all over again!
I absolutely cannot wait for book 12! I need it like NOW!
Bryce and Marjorie's story have taken all the Steel craziness to another level. And it's not over. Poor Bryce is so tormented by the ghost of his father and all the secrets left behind. And Marjorie is trying to find her place in life and where she belongs, but love could find her a place at home. There's still all the push and pull from the last book, with so many mysteries revealed and still unravelling.
This is such a big story- definitely not a stand alone. I am addicted to the weird history and happenings amongst these characters. I feel connected to them and I'm dying to know more. Even though each is a full length book, with everything covered, they feel like a chapter then done and waiting for the next. I love it but it drives me crazy! I seriously recommend the whole series if you haven't read it yet.
OMG.... What did you do Helen Hardt? Can you say " mother of all cliff hangers" ?And I have to wait three months ( Jan 2020) for the next book!! That about sums up this latest installment of the Steele Brothers series... The plot gets thicker and thicker. Just when you think you've figured it all out... nope you're wrong! Along with all the previous questions the Steele men and their wives and now Marjorie have to figure out : who the grey hoodie man is? What's in the envelopes that Bryce found out? What Is Colin hiding? The ultimate mystery.
OhMiGah!!! Helen, how can you do this? How can you let me read this whole book (and love every word) and leave me hanging on this proverbial cliff like this?
This book has everything you are looking for. Helen Hardt, fills many genres at one time. Love. Action. Suspense.
Because of what I've said so far, there is no way I can give Ravenous, anything less than 5 stars.
Wow! The mystery continues. Helen does an amazing job with the new twists and turns. The characters truly come to life. I was so drawn into the book that I read it in a few hours. I just couldn't put it down.
Things are really getting HOT between Bryce and Marj and they will have to work through new challenges to save themselves and their loved ones. Will Bryce be able to work past being his fathers son and having happy memories with someone who turned out to be a monster? A monster who has hurt those he loves.
What an ending, I want book 12 now. I just can't wait till January is here. The Steel Brothers Saga is AMAZING.
Breathless was the previous book ended with Bryce telling Marj they can't be together. Plus us learning someone is after the Steel family and Bryce. Someone is watching them but we still don't have no clue who it is. This book begins with that person again watching them.
Bryce and Marj can't find a way to stay out of eachother arms. She is tired of him changing his mind. So she tries to listen to Jade advice to move on. Their theory the fastest way to get a new guy is at the gym. The first guy Marj bumps into tells her he is a personal trainer. Marj personal trainer is giving me bad vibes. He asks to many questions and she doesn't think nothing about it. Not me you know someone is watching your family. What do we know about this personal trainer nothing? Sorry if I was rich i would have had him looked up.
There were some parts that I was getting tired of Bryce feeling bad for himself. He says he going to get some help but doesn't.
Now in true Helen Steel series fashion this book ends with a cliffhanger. This cliffhanger had me screaming and dying to read the next book.
This series from the very first book has gripped me like no other. Just when I think my emotions have finally settled down from the last book, they are cranked up yet again with Bryce and Marjorie's continuing story. I feel deeply for these two as I am so passionately invested with all the Steel brothers, and now with their sister Marjorie.
Bryce is so in love with Marjorie he feels the primal urge to protect her from further hurt and turmoil. Bryce does what he thinks is the best resolution and rejects her love. The trouble with that plan is that Marjorie knows that Bryce loves her and she will not accept his rejection and digs her heels in. Bryce knows he cannot breathe without her. She is his and no one else's.
The new revelations in this book are mind blowing. The suspense is compelling and gut wrenching. As always Helen Hardt leaves us hanging to find out the final outcome of this amazing story.
Wow!! The queen of cliffhangers at her best!! Ravenous is the amazing continuation of Bryce and Marj’s story. It sucked me in right from the start and wouldn’t let go. I was captivated and can’t wait for the epic conclusion! It can’t come soon enough!!
Initially, I really loved this series, but as it wears on, I’m beginning to resent the pace and stretch of this plot.
This particular installment had me drumming my fingers with boredom over the many repetitions of love and doubt between Bryce and Marj. Over and over, and then suddenly, voila! And the joking and repartee while their mother is missing - no tension, no police activity, WTH? I will read one more and if it’s as paltry in forward motion as this one, I’m done.
In “Ravenous,” which is the eleventh book in the Steel Brothers Saga, Helen Hardt presents the continuing love story between Marjorie "Marj" Steel and Bryce Simpson. At the close of the previous books "Breathless, " Bryce and Marj tried to avoid their mutual desire for each other however by the end of the book, both had fallen in love.
At the start of this book, Bryce feels his a broken man unworthy of Marj's love so he leaves her a note breaking things off with her. Marj doesn't reach to the letter well at all. She is hurt, upset and confused since she felt that Bryce returned the love she gave to him. As Marj tries to recover from Bryce's rejection, she returns to self harm as a way to dull her pain. As much as Bryce tries to stay away from Marj, in the end, his love for her wins out and they eventually resolves their differences.
While Bryce and Marj do eventually profess their feeling to each other, danger still lurks in the background and the more information Bryce discovers, the more people's lives are put into peril.
I really enjoyed this novel and as usual, Hardt has created an addicting read that once you pick the book up, you can't stop until you reach the final page. I like the alternate narration as well as the steamy but not over the top sex scenes.
Yes, this author has done it again. I have read a few books from this author and she always blows my mind. This is the eleventh book in the Steel Brothers saga. You have to read all these books in order or you will get totally lost. When I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately and I could not put it down. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible book.
Bryce Simpson still has demons that he needs to overcome. He knows deep down that leaving Marge alone is the best thing for her well being or is it? Bryce still can’t stop his feelings for his best friends little sister. Will Bryce be the man that Marge needs or will he bring her into a dark place she forgot about it?
This book was really good helen Hardt can write really good books know I have to wait until I get my money to buy the other 2 books. I really didn’t want this book to end on the way it did but it did and I have to wait I really hope I get my money on Monday so I can buy the other 2 books before I can start reading legacy but I can’t and Hoopla doesn’t have the other two books after ravenous and that sucks. For the ladies that want to read this and haven’t yet I would because really good. I don’t want to put any spoilers just in case people hasn’t read it but really if you haven’t you really should but if your going to make sure you have the other ones after ravenous because I wish I did. I love helen hardt books all of the ones that I have read.
Wow! Helen Hardt you definitely titled this book correctly. Marjorie and Bryce are Ravenous for each other. Little sisters hot story continues. The Steels thought the bad days were over. Marjorie thought she found love with her older brothers best friend Bryce. That’s not the case. A dark cloud still hangs over the Steels ranch. Bryce is afraid to bring Marjorie into his world. A heartbreaking beginning, thanks to the ending in Breathless, and yet another cliffhanger of an ending. I can’t wait for January and the continuation of this story.
And the plot thickens..... This was much better, I didn't find the main characters as irritating as they were in the first 2. I had originally thought that Bryce had come across as self-indulgent but I didn't put that in the review because it seemed to harsh but Bryce says it himself in this book. I also understand how you can make it all about yourself and forgetting the big picture. I think I've figured out who is who in this one but only time will tell. On to the next.
The story continues to unfold. So much new information, its just amazing. Things between Marjorie & Bryce get HOT. Helen Hardt has definitely out done herself. I can't wait for January to get the next book. This is a must read series that will keep you on your toes.
This whole series is driving me crazy! I love the story and the mystery, but I'm not a patient person. But I will not stop until I Inc the answers to the mystery!
This is the eleventh book in the series it’s a continuation of Bryce and Marjorie. You’ll need to read the others for this to make sense. Just like the other books in the series I couldn’t get enough and when it ended I wanted more!! The author is the queen of cliffhangers so this one ends on one and now dying to know what is going happen! Overall I loved the flow, the twists and turns the many questions left to be answered with the twelfth book. I honestly can’t wait for the next one and flew through this one it’s definitely a must read! I’ve loved the Steel Brothers Series and getting to see their sister get her turn is awesome!
