He watches me from his window.I put on my best shows for him because I know he likes what I do.Blood, death, and sometimes things I know I shouldn't. I study him from my balcony and remember the things he likes best, always careful to show him what I know will bring him back out for more.I'll do anything that will keep his attention because he's different. He doesn't know it yet, but he's going to be my hero. It's his fate. We're the same kind of monster, he and I, and I'll make him remember what's at stake before it's all said and done. He's my only hope.Just one more final game before the hunt really begins. It's only fair.

In only 79 pages, this Author crafted a mighty fine snippet of a horror/thriller. I needed some darkness in my life, & this was just the ticket. I read this in one sitting, I laughed, I was shocked, I was intrigued , and then I was speechless as I finished.
Beware, triggers galore, this isn’t for everyone. Horror lovers only, with just a small dash of Paranormal.
This was a serious WTAF did I just read type of story that I didn’t know I needed. As per usual for Yolanda’s works, I went in blind and am so glad I did. Strangers is a rather macabre tale of two strangers who are more intertwined than even the reader initially realizes.
I was fascinated by the voyeuristic exploits of these two neighbors - the whole I’ll watch you while you watch me thing was actually pretty hot!! Each performance drew me in, each encounter left me a little more confused, and each time breadcrumbs started to light the path.
Orson and Fiona are two fucked up peas in a rotten pod. Sometimes you’re born wrong but in this case they were made into monsters by evil people, or fate, I couldn’t really decide. All I know is the afterlife for these two is going to be like the devils playground full of miscreant exploits and unabashed sensuality.
What a story! I certainly did not see the ending coming, and that’s what I love the most about Yolanda’s books. Fiona’s story certainly starts “with a bang” so to say, and after that, the plot only thickens as more and more blood is getting shed. I loved the interaction between Fiona and Orson and the little games they played with each other through the windows of their opposing apartment buildings. Both are deliciously dangerous and I kept wondering who’s going to be whose “toy” in the end. However, even here Ms. Olson managed to surprise me with a completely unexpected twist! An awesome read, perfect for all fans of dark fiction.
Strangers starts off with a bang, trapping you in this haunting story from the very beginning. It's like an insane ride through a house of horrors and you think you know where it's heading. Until you don't.
I absolutely love twists and turns and I feel that they really keep the story interesting. And the twist at the end of this story? It nearly gave me whiplash! Holy crap! I thought I knew what was going to happen, or at least had a general idea, but, in typical Ms. Olson fashion, I was completely and utterly wrong.
Strangers is a quick read, but it's so dark, bloody, erotic, and chock full of story, you don't even realize it. While the ending definitely wraps everything up, it still leaves you wanting more. It left me speechless and almost gasping in shock. I didn't see that ending coming in the slightest, but it was fitting
While this is only the second book I've ready by Ms. Olson, it definitely will not be my last. She is an incredible story teller with an absolutely twisted mind! Just like me! I love it!
W.T.F.....if you are looking for a dark, disturbing story that leaves you asking yourself “what in the f....just happens here!?” Then look no further!
I don’t want to give too much away, but the twist is epic and dare I say, equivalent to the twist in Bones that left me blindsided and at a loss for words. You got me! You got me...again!
This story was just what my dark side was craving! A story that pushes my limits, making me uncomfortable and questioning my need to feed that dark side, but certainly satisfied the itch!
It goes without saying, if you’re new to Yolanda’s work, make sure that you really want to jump into her dark and gruesome world...this is not a world you just wade in, she will pull you under and drown you with her wicked ways....and you’ll pay her to do it!
Fiona & Orson are strangers.. they watch each other from their windows across from each other. What happens behind those windows though, now that might be the definition of dark and disturbed! Nothing is what it seems in this twisted horror story. “What does it take to wrest the devil out of Hell to play with the wicked?” This is not a romance...this is something else and I loved every dark, twisted, horrific minute of it! Told in dual POV
Yolanda delivers a powerful punch with this dark and gritty tale. It will leave you breathless while you beg for more. This is one suspenseful ride you don't want to miss!
This is only the second book I’ve read by her, and I can already tell she’s going to be one of my favorites. Her attention to detail and the way she just sucks you into her characters twisted and deranged minds just makes you feel things!
Not. What. I. Was. Expecting. At all. But so, so good. This book starts out fast paced, and it doesn't stop. It is a non stop amazing read into the dark, so well spun around these two characters, that you never see the punch coming. And if you know this author, you should be ready for it. Such an amazing book, and one that I so highly recommend. Fiona and Orsen will capture you attention from the bloody start, and don't let it go until the very gruesome end. One click it ASAP. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is story about 2 people. They live across from each other. They know about each other but have only seen each other through their windows. It’s a wild ride from start to finish. I truly believe one thing was happening then bam a twist. I actually had to reread the last chapters to get what happened because I was so sure I had figured it out but I was soooo wrong in a good way.
In Strangers you follow Fiona and her desire to please the mystery man, Orson, on the balcony that always watches the unique and bloody hobby that she does. Orson is intrigued by the beauty that allows him to view her shows until one day, they finally meet. But is it for the better or is it for the worse? The author took me on a horror, suspense filled tale with a glorious twist with these two.
Oh wow - I love how this story played out! Yolanda Olson has done it again - an intense story with a so many questions, an ending you can't see coming, and twists you wouldn't have imagined. Loved it!!
Hmm. I love Yolonda but this wasn’t it girlfriend! I was so into it until the plot twist… now I’m just sitting here unsatisfied to be honest!
I was so there until I wasn’t… but I’ll read just about anything this authors writes sooooo yeah?! I’m not that disappointed.
"He played with me, but he was too rough, too manic and he took my life. It's why she came back to him. It's why she wants to finish playing our game,"
“He was unnecessary cruel to me, but he paid good money to Les to use me and that's why I'm here. To make sure that he gets his money's worth because he finished me far too quickly”
^ like okay?! Lmao that’s the big ole plot twist?! Ugh fine. ^
This was one hell of a vibe read, like, more than reading it you kind of feel it. It's like getting to the first 'wait a minute' moment in American Horror Story. Those goosebumps you get when you realize something is majorly off but you can't place it. You're unsettled by something in the shadows but you're determined to pull the curtain back anyway. I was confused but creeped tf out anyway. Another review mentioned Black Mirror and I agree, it's a story that gets a reaction without neccisarily answering all the questions left behind. What a doozy!
This story is the stuff nightmares are made of... Fiona and Orsen are quite the disturbing pair. The ending is absolutely brilliant. You'll never see it coming.
The storyline of this was weird. I knew there would be gore and blood and bodyparts and stuff, that didn’t bother me. I mean I kinda cringed a little bit at the mention of intestines... but what ya gonna do. 😆 I just felt disappointed at the end with the way it turned out though. Oh well.
I Received this Book from Author for Honest Review. I’m giving this book 4/5 stars. Romance: 1.5/5 Not a Bad Thing! It’s just not really a front runner in here Dark: 5/5 Suspense/Drama: 5/5 Did not expect that ending at all. Dark Erotic: 5/5 No Spoilers. This book...is not at all what I was expecting, I was slightly confused here and there. Then I was absolutely fascinated near, and at the ending!
Honestly I don’t know what to say except that I found this book Totally MindForking(!!) and I really enjoyed the heck out of this.
I love reading a story by this author because she always keeps you on edge. Nothing is light. Nothing is half *ssed. It is always mind blogging, dark, and masterfully plotted. This story was no different.
The characters were not ordinary. They were twisted, dark, and complex in nature. They were strangers who wanted to play... I wanted to know how far each character would take it and what games if any would be played. I'm not saying a word but you would want to get to know this two strangers.
OMG the Queen of Horror has done it again Yolanda Olson never disappoints her readers which is why she will always be my number 1 go to for horror and twisted goodness And this books delivers just that from beginning to end Completely LOVED this book ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This book has everything needed to be an amazing book. I loved the ideas, and the story started with intrigue and interest. The pace was good for the first 2/3 of the story, and just when I was beginning to think OK now things are really going to start to happen between the hero and heroine BAM! At 85% suddenly the book took such a quick turn I didn't understand what was going on. I had to read and reread 2 pages as o honestly thought I'd missed so something. It could have been the best twist, but its execution missed the mark for me as it came completely out of left field. The last 15% of the book was then rushed, and did not fit the mood of the rest of the story. The heroine did a whole 180 in her personality, and went from crazed quiet killer to sighing "my hero" - wtf? No sorry, was the last part written by someone else? That's how different it felt. I wish the author had taken the same time with setting up and execution of the end, even adding a significant amount to the book, as I feel this would have made this a brilliant 5 star read
Creepy much? I think not, that's what Yolanda does. She thinks of the worst thing ever, and she writes about it. Her mind is a big brain of craziness, and we the reader's love it.
Strangers is about two people, that are obsessed with each other. They live across the way from each other and have stalker tendency. While they're having fun with each other, one is content on the thing's they are doing while the other one is really excited about it all.
Strangers is the total blown away book. It will leave you speechless.
Honestly not sure why I didn't put down after the first page. Guess I let my curiosity get the best of me and I ended up pushing through only because it's a novella. I haven't read anything this dark in quite some time and although I didn't love it as a written piece I do feel like it'd translate extremely well as an episode for Black Mirror. Didn't see that ending coming at alI, author definitely gets props for blowing my mind. But it left me with so many questions.
Another day, another Yolanda masterpiece, and honey, I can see why C is absolutely OBSESSED with this one. It’s an emotional rollercoaster, and let me tell you, I was gripped from page one. The plot twist at the end? Whew, it had me shooketh to my very core. Like, did I really just read that?! You know Yolanda’s out here throwing curveballs, and we’re just trying to catch our breath.
Now, housekeeping real quick: check those triggers, sweethearts, before they check YOU. This book goes there, and it doesn't apologize. Sensitive readers, proceed with caution!
If you’ve read Yolanda before, you know the drill – the characters either make you want to give them a hug or throw them into the nearest volcano. It’s a vibe. This time around, our FMC, Fiona, is serving meek and mild on the outside, but trust me when I say there's a little monster inside waiting to devour everything in sight. And don’t even get me started on the neighbor... Oh, honey, if you know Yolanda, you know they’re not just neighbors. Trust me, this is one setup you won't see coming.
Sorry, I can’t give you more without spilling the tea. But I’ll leave you with this: Fiona’s a true masterpiece of chaos, and let’s just say, things escalate in ways you can’t even imagine.
Well I didn’t see that coming back it’s undeniably good! Fiona is out of there and Orson well he’s the wild card. Considering all the books I have read by Yolanda Fiona is the baddest of the bad for her FMC’s thus far and I absolutely love her! Orson is unhinged but also so very empathetic! The plot twist though ooh the plot twist! I’m very happy I read this it was definitely captivated by these characters.
Strangers was an unexpected surprise. What I thought was going to be horror, then a dark romance, and turned into maybe a combination of the two? The story kept unraveling into something that I didn't expect. I loved how different this was and kept me guessing the whole way through.
