C.O.A. #2

Wicked Thing: Children Of Ankh Universe

Rate this book

In book two of our ass-kicking anti-heroes side series, Lexy of Ankh embraces her duties as an emotionless hitman for the smallest of the three partially immortal clans and even though Lexy is trying to make good choices, nothing makes it easier to get over the devotion she feels for her Handler, Grey. The three newest members of Clan Ankh are dropped into their immortal Testing, and as they begin their unsurvivable scenic tour through their worst nightmares, Lexy goes with the rest of Ankh to the Summit in another world run by Third Tiers. After being ironically partnered with a nemesis in the arena, the unlikely duo finds themselves bound by an intimate secret. Two clans survive the Testing and as always... the third remains trapped inside. The Ankh get absolutely wasted at a banquet where they have no rights and restrooms are death traps. They are forced to hang out with pure blooded immortals who enjoy fun hobbies like virgin sacrifices and cloning famous mortals for some rather dark entertainment. After a shocking list of plot twists and turns... we find ourselves back on Earth preparing for the rest of the shit show.

I was given an ARC from Story Origin and this is my honest review:

The Wicked Thing continues right where we left Lex in Wild Things concerning her struggle with her undying love of Grey but is trying to move past it or live with it. She also has come quite a ways down the path within her abilities evolving around her powers of being a dragon and attachment towards her fellow clan members. Lex is gaining trust towards her newly born family and evolving with them. The only let down about the story is the constant push and pull game with Lex and Grey. Yes we know they love each other and can't past that line of friendship. I feel this is stifling of Lexi's character growth because she is always self destructing. How can she be a dragon and not toe the line of dragon and handler. I do still look forward to the multiple demons and monster the clan will fight in the third story "Deplorable Me" I gave this story a 4 star for character growth and for the horrific imaginational monsters

As always, Kim Cormack never fails to entertain and engross you in her books! She is superb and masterful story teller! Her world is a highly developed world with sub plots that are grounded in a world we know , understand and can empathize with. Her dragon as she calls one of her character are exactly what a dragon would be if human in my mind. Nothing is what it seems in this world! Get drawn into the children of Ankh and all the books that follow!

Wicked Thing picks up right where Wild Thing leaves off. Lexy is becoming more comfortable being with others of her kind and embracing her inner Dragon with great zeal. Now there are new recruits to watch out for and prepare for their own testing. What a world this is. Monsters galore to dispose of while jealously protecting their own potential clan mates the three clans continue on their merry way.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Life is hard enough for everyone, so having to live it ad nauseaum and adding fated unrequited love to the mix is even worse.
Does it really exist - fate, reincarnation, divine justice?... Never mind, I had a good time thinking about it while temporarily dwelling in în the COA world, despite the editing errors.

So, go for it and enjoy!

We left Lex worrying about her love/lust for Gray. She finally is fainting trust within her ‘family’ and finding comfort within herself and her inner Dragon. This book is filled with suspense as Lex and the other Dragons fight the Lampiar

Wicked Thing is the second book in the C.O.A series.

I am so addicted to this series. It's super entertaining and I highly recommend if you enjoy adventure, dragons, fated mates, I love Lexy. She is such a strong and has huge character development. Between love and friendship, she has phenomenal growth. Looking forward to seeing more of Lexy's story!

Wild Things concerning Lexy struggle with her undying love of Grey and gaining trust to her new family. Everything that happened during this book was amazing and some shocked me that i wasn’t expecting at all. Kim did not disappoint again, with how she written, how she described their feelings/words.

Enjoyable but irritating typos

It's interesting reading the journey from Lexus perspective , a very enjoyable read. Unfortunately there are still a lot of typos including commas in the wrong place that break the flow of reading, which is both irritating and disappointing.
