Rate this book

The harmony Elaria has found with her consorts is threatened when a black orb pulls her through the Veil to a hidden planet. Once there, she releases a dark god who was imprisoned by the Shining Ones. This god has a claim on Elaria that she can't deny, and his song is too powerful for her to resist. As she struggles to get home to her lovers, the Spellsinger is caught up in a deadly duet that could mean the end of everything she treasures most; including herself.

Amy Sumida is the Internationally Acclaimed author of the Award-Winning Godhunter Series, the fantasy paranormal Twilight Court Series, the Beyond the Godhunter Series, the music-oriented paranormal Spellsinger Series, the superhero Spectra Series, and several short stories. Her books have been translated into several languages, have won numerous awards, and are bestsellers. She believes in empowering women through her writing as well as providing everyone with a great escape from reality. Her stories are full of strong women and hot gods, shapeshifters, vampires, dragons, fairies, gargoyles... pretty much any type of supernatural, breathtakingly gorgeous man you can think of. Because why have normal when you could have paranormal?
Born and raised in Hawaii, Amy made a perilous journey across the ocean with six cats to settle in the beautiful state of Oregon which reminds her a lot of Hawaii but without the cockroaches or evil sand. When she isn't trying to type fast enough to get down everything the voices in her head are saying while her kitties try to sabotage her with cuteness, she enjoys painting on canvases, walls, and anything else that will sit still long enough for the paint to dry. She prefers antiques to modern furniture, tea to coffee, night to day, and Tom Hardy to Tom Hiddleston. No; Tom Hiddleston to Tom Hardy. No, wait... Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston to Tom Cruise. Yes, that's it.

Sooo much skimming .........

I adore Amy and her books, but she often takes her books/stories places I honestly don’t want to go and this story is honestly one of them.....
I’m up to chapter 47 and it been skimming soo long now, dear lord I’ve forgotten how much I’ve skimmed ....
I waited to finish the last book because I knew I wouldn’t want to be left hanging and I’m glad waited but I almost wish I could have skipped this book.... Elaria and her life take some twists and turns that honestly as a reader I sooooo could have done with out...
It hurts when a writer who’s work you cherish takes it places you don’t want to go.....
Spoiler alert 🚨:
That orb from the last book doesn’t just free Darcaxis a “god” and former love 💕 from Elaria’s “original “ life/life force but sadly also frees her original life force/personality..... and that personality is a female dog on steroids and was a big part of my skimming..... and her and Gage together .... I didn’t always enjoy his type of dominance w/her but as someone who has known real IRL dominates ? I’d kick her rear.... ( can’t say what I’d want to say) a true exchange is just that..... an exchange, nit a selfish self absorbed power trip and sadly that’s all the other personality is a over inflated power trip.... And honestly I lost a great deal of respect for all the characters here..... instead of clinging to this messed up female dog they should have kicked her to the curb and let Darcaxis have to deal with the mess he helped unleash .... he wanted Feane back all bad knowing what power hungry evil female dog she could be ? He should had to deal with it alone .....
I’m all for a good RH but just because it revolves around her doesn’t mean it has to be a female lead relationship, where the woman gets to call all the shots and the men constantly jump they hoops to keep her happy....
When this series first started it was soo much fun and it was balanced ,as in there was a balance between an action packed and adventured storyline but balanced with time fir love and romance.... while you still have romance,at times, often it’s just sex, sex and more sex and sex and romance isn’t the same ....
Sex is about the physical coming together of two or more ( at times) bodies but romance ( at least to me) is about the mental and emotional connecting of two souls and the way this was done felt backwards... supposedly our h loved Drac first and he was all that, and sadly as much as she loved her consorts and refused to give them up they were just going to have to lump it or leave .... no matter how much explanation went into this, it all felt soo forced to me.... this ancient “god” is back and everything is just supposed to fall back into place for him and while I can understand stand him not wanting to share his all or nothing attitude helped trigger the take over...
F
You know I’m not gonna try and explain this,I’m just gonna say : I. Don’t . Like. It!
I love the idea is a spellsinger and her merry band of consorts or husbands who go around saving others and making different worlds a better place but all these overly complicated and weird rear ways of adding another man to the mix, just annoy, anger, frustrate and sadden me....
I know this isn’t exactly new, while looking somethings up I was reminded of some of the early books in the “godhunter” series, and some of them went places that made me cry because they hurt me with where they went and f I re read them I make sure I skip whole sections because they are use too upsetting.... life is hard and hurtful bough at times I don’t need it from my book as well... for me my books are an escape from the pain, not to exacerbate it...
This book just disappointed me in all the characters, Elaria I felt was too demanding in what the asked of the ones who loved her and by blind to the dangers it caused, while the men I’m sure were supposed to look supportive only looked like weak clingy doormats willing to be treated like dirt just to remain in her favor ....
Add as many men as you like but don’t make this a female led relationship, where she’s this blind and short sided and only her wants matter.... Love can be a great many things, but it never makes victims or slaves, only we do....
Wanted to like this but I didn’t... the beginning was, ok, the middle sucked ( to me) and I’m hoping it gets better but I’m not happy...

Oh Goddess

I really enjoyed this book. I was really worried about our girl there for awhile, but as always things work them selves out. The guys were hot and devoted to Elaria and not given up on there love. Darc was a good addition to the story and he was not what I picture him to be, which is a good thing. I can’t wait for next book.

Wow

This wasn't my favorite book in the spellsinger series. Don't get me wrong, it's good but I didn't enjoy the amount of hate and turmoil that happened. I look forward to Elaria being more herself in the next book. I can't wait to see how her guys ban together without the RS keeping the alpha tempers under control.

What a wild ride!! Keep them coming!!

I love how intricately the music is woven into these stories. This book went through so many hoops but so worth all the love at the end. I can’t wait for the next one!!

Almost did not finish

That would have been a shame. Seriously believed through the first half of the story that the author had jumped the shark with this one. Where do we go from godhood anyway. The climactic end answered that. This series has been a fun ride.

Great!

This book was interesting and a little different than the others in the series. I don't want to give much away but the battle is more internal than external. Love it.

Good book

Lots of characters. Lost loves and fights to the almost death. The real trials of a harem and the logistics of life after you lose your mind. Loved it

Yes!! Loved that he was added to the rh!

I liked this book more than the previous one. It felt more like a complete story and not a mishmash of worlds colliding.

It was really good, I love how Amy Sumida writes, so imaginative. The only I didn't like was how mean the goddess was, but considering she is a goddess I do get it. It does have a happy ending tho 💜💜
