(Game Series # 1) For as long as Katherine could remember, Juan Alexandro Yuchengco has always been her dream guy. He's smart, kind, and could be funny when he wanted to... but the problem was, he never saw her as more than his sister's friend. And she's determined to change that.
She followed him to law school. She made sure that he's aware of her presence... and thankfully, her efforts paid off. Finally, Jax was looking her way. But life is never simple. Life is a game. It's either you win or you lose. It's either you get it all or you lose it all. Kapag akala mong nandyan na, biglang mawawala pala. Kapag akala mong iyon na, may iba pa pala.
But how will she play if all the cards are stacked against her?
I can only wish that Beeyotch will translate this whole law series in full English someday for a much wider audience that could appreciate it because it's really something else.
As for this book, I thought that this was gonna be heavier based on the things that I heard, but it wasn't really that heavy for me. It just had the right amount of angst and feels. Also, I enjoyed this a lot! The plot was pretty solid, and the theme is eye-opening and realistic. Though I would've loved it more if there were more court scenes because I was living for them lol. The tension and the stress in the court when Kitty was being grilled were only starting to get under my skin but they ended way too soon.
Anw, I know that this is the first book in the Game series but it's already the fourth one that I've read because I'm chaotic like that. This is also probably my favorite thus far. I appreciated Kitty's character development and growth here; she was so strong and I commended her for her eventual decisions and how she stood up for herself. Plus Jaxon was just very stubborn but also heartbreakingly self-sacrificing.
I'm also quite tempted to buy a physical copy bc I wanna read the longer version of Jax's POV. And maybe I'll read the webtoon, too.
TWs: domestic abuse, violence, murder, death of a child (mentioned)
Read this book with zero expectations nor the slightest idea of the plot, all I knew was that it revolved around law school. Looking back, the author of this book is the same author of For Hire: A Damn Good Kisser and Good Girl Gone Bad, a realization dawned to me that this will be one hell of a ride, "mapanakit"... I thought I was prepared enough from the heartache I went through from the aforementioned books but I was wrong. Nothing prepared me for what this book had. The plot was captivating! Not a single chapter was wasted, I could only ask for more. What happened during the lull of the relationship of Jax and Kitty? How did their lives go about? I wanted to know more about how they spent their time away from each other... What were they thinking about? Did they yearn for each other? If so, did they do anything about it? In the case of Kitty and Kier, I wanted to know more of the moments they spent. What else did Kier did for Kitty? How did they they spend their time together? I wanted to know more of Kier's feelings for Kitty... I wish the part where Kitty talked to Dr. Sena was longer. I wish there were more scenes, more details and just as much for how Jax dealt with being apart from Kitty... did he know about the wedding, did the thought of stopping it cross his mind? It's so bitiiiiinn. I am satisfied with the ending! Still, I want to know about the family life of the Yuchengcos. Also wanted to get the perspective of the family of Kier, epecially his mom. There's just so much more I want to know. I wish there were 60 chapters instead of 45. I wish the epilogue was longer. I wanted to know more from the perspective of Jax, especially on the latter events of his life. Does the printed version contain more? Really enjoyed reading this story especially the law bits! Makes me want to law school and find the love of my life there HAHAHA! Thank you dear author for sharing this story!

wish i saw more of kitty and jax outside of the case. aside from their relationship nung nasa law school pa, parang wala na masyadong scenes on their dynamics together as a couple. sana din mas maraming scenes as to how they spent those years after they broke up. it really felt like there is something lacking.
probably my 1234th reread and still i’d rate this ten stars if i could. ptg truly is the backbone and standard of game series. not even being biased when i say everything in this book is just greatly executed; the characters, the plot, the flow of the story, EVERYTHING. beeyotch poured her all in this book and none of the other books in the series compared to ptg (although ctg was close). the interrogation scene alone was 1000 times better than all the other gs books combined. i fear beeyotch peaked here and will never be able to write something as great as ptg again. jax & kitty you are so so loved by me <3
If I'm not mistaken this was the first book I read on the author's works. I loved it so bad. Especially the part where Jax is helping and defending Kitty on her framed murder of her own husband (now ex-husband) This will be a tough reread if I will one day. Nevertheless, I want to have the physical book copy!
OH GOD I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH I DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW TO START THIS 😭😭😭😭 I wanna cry this story is so so so good I love them with my whole life and I’m not even exaggerating they deserve the whole world 😭😭 Jax and kitty completes my life 😭 I really really love the pace of the story it’s not slow-paced but it’s also not fast-paced. everything is happening at just the right time 🥺 miss Ariesa Domingo I love you so much thank you for sharing this wonderful story and creating Juan Alexandro and Katherine 😭
from the first paragraph until the end this book really got into me 🥺 I normally finished books within weeks or even months but I love this so much it took me 3 days and I would stay up late just to know what will happen in the next chapter 😭
Juan Alejandro Yuchengco got me in a CHOKEHOLD from the start until it finished 😭 Jax is literally my ideal type and I think everybody does too. like who would not fall in love with THE Juan Alexandro Yuchengco???? 🥹🥹
when the angst started I felt so nervous I just wanted them to be always happy and be with each other without anybody getting in the way. but when Kieran got into this I never cursed him but I did despise him but when everything got cleared out in chapter 41 and I knew Kieran tried to save Katherine even though he was already stabbed he still tried to reach unconscious Katherine to protect her 😭😭💗
I hated how he treated her like trash. pushed her down the stairs, slapped, punched, and even kicked her but I'm pretty sure we all knew that he really did love her. if he wasn’t so abusive and possessive of Katherine then I wouldn’t despise him so much. he could’ve just ended up in jail instead of dying. 😔 he could’ve had character development. I felt so sad when Jax and kitty visited Kieran and their unborn child Kierra's grave 🥺🥺 none of them deserve to be hurt like this.
If I could give them the whole world, I would.
as for kitty, I love you so much:( after everything you’ve been through, after getting pushed, kicked, slapped, punched, and losing your baby you’ve chosen to fight not just for Jax or yourself but for everybody 😭😭😭
gosh, I could talk about this book for hours without getting tired of it. this is definitely my best and favorite book so far this year. 😭💘
once again, thank you miss ariesa.
I love you both so much Katherine and Juan Alexandro you’re now my favorite couple ever! 🥹 I could read your story over and over again if I could. after all the pain both of you experienced I just wish for eternal happiness and undying love for both of you. if I could talk to one fictional couple it would definitely be the both of you. I’ve already said this a lot, but I really really love you both. I don’t think there is an existing word that can suffice and describe my love for both of you. 🥺🥺
this is so long I’m sorry I promise I’m not exaggerating this is all that I’ve been feeling and my thoughts about this story. I would definitely recommend this to everybody. this is really worth the read. if I could rate it 6 stars I would. 🤍
anyway, mahal na mahal ko kayo. 🥺💗💞💘
favorite line:
★彡 (Chapter 42) “It's not your fault, Katherine. You know my father always told me that the moment a man raises his hand at a woman is the same moment that he stops being a man?"
★彡 (Epilogue) "Are you ready to begin the rest of our lives together, Atty. Yuchengco?" I asked.
"Can I file a motion for reconsideration, Atty. Yuchengco?" she asked.
I shook my head. "Motion denied. With finality." She laughed, and I swear, that's my favorite sound in the world.
This story starts when Katherine Arellano followed her dream guy, Juan Alexandro Yuchengco in law school. He is a total package, a smart guy, handsome, good brother & son. Basically, everyone's dream guy. All of her hardwork was paid off. AKA her following Jax around the campus, getting Jax's attention, and making sure that Jax is looking at her in a different way. No one saw that coming. But life is a game. Therefore, you must play the game.
This is definitely my ALL TIME FAVORITE wattpad novel. It features my favorite categories of law, Criminal Law. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaHHHHHHHHHhh I have so much feelings for this book!!! The story was written perfectly and the plot is just soooooo twisting. I definitely recommend this book. It made me want to pursue law.
OKAY I LOVE THIS BOOK SM AND IDK WHERE TO BEGIN WITH!!!
I honestly love Kitty and Jax's friend group so much.
Imagine, when Kitty needed her friends the most, they were all there to help her. When she was about to get married to that gago, they were all worried because they know na she still loves Jax.. They were there for Kitty the whole time. That is why I love them sm. From the very start talaga hanggang sa makalaya si Kitty sa kulungan, they were all there for her. Naiiyak ako everytime naaalala ko yung first time ni Kitty sa kulungan, they were all present.. feeding her and making her happy 🥺 They never left her side kahit anong mangyare and I know she'll do the same rin for her friends. Iñigo helped her so much rin nung law school kaya it breaks my heart nung nag away sila ☹️ they were bestfriends tas biglang ganun.. I understand both sides naman and I'm happy na they're okay na.
And the same goes for Jax. Yago, Rory & Cha was there when he needed them. I just finished reading 'In Love With The Game' and I can see na they super solid nila. When Jax needed help from them para sa case ni Kitty, because it was too much for him to handle, they were ready to help. Rory said pa nga na she'll resign sa firm if hindi siya pinabayaan ng boss nila na tulungan si Jax para sa case niya (Kitty's case) against the Ramirez & Sy's. Because she knows that Jax will also do the same for her if she was in his shoes. Yago went home sa PH to help him. Cha was there too, kahit na she's preggy, to help him. And they all knew that it was risky but they still took the risk.
Kitty's honestly my spirit animal. She's not a spoiled brat. She's serious about chasing her dreams—Law School & Jax. She used to be so jolly, brave & competitive.. not until Kier came and ruined her life. I hate how he changed her so much. Imagine going through all that pain. Losing your loved ones (parents na most of the time wala rin naman pake sakanya :) lolz swerte niyo kay kitty!!), breaking up with the love of your life, getting married to a man you don't love but tried to, going through all that abuse and violence, losing your daughter, getting imprisoned for months, abused again.. All the trauma that Kier, his family, her family (pamilya sa labas 🙄 fuck u mga Sy!!) and the people in prison caused her, it honestly sucks. She's too brave to go through all that. Present Kitty reminds me so much of Taylor Swift's 'Champagne Problems'. I'm so proud of her because after all that happened to her, she tried to heal and become a better person again.. and she did :) I love how she's practicing to be an atty and I know na she'll be a great one, someday :) I just love her so much and mahigpit na yakap sayo love 🤍
Jax.. I love everything about Jax. I love how he's so masungit most of the time but pagdating kay Kitty ang sweet niya. Like what Rory said, the oldies love him because super ma-respeto siya. I love how he helps her with her studies, every time. Nakakatawa because parang trigger word na yung name ni Iñigo for him but they still became close friends at the end. Same goes for kitty rin, least favorite classmate niya daw si Cha pero naging bestfriends rin naman sila sa huli 😂. Jax's really selfless when it comes to his family and Kitty. I love na ganun siya pero minsan naiinis na ako sakanya kasi he's really selfless pagdating kay Kitty. He'll prioritize her assignments muna before he does his and super draining nung ginagawa niya, esp if nasa shoes ako ni Kitty, masasaktan ako syempre because binabaliwala niya na studies niya and mas priority ako. When in fact, dapat ako gumagawa nito, not him. Even if he's mad at Kitty for leaving him, mas makikita mo pa rin na he loves her despite everything that happened. He'll do anything for Kitty talaga, ganun niya siya ka-mahal.
I love their relationship so much. I just remembered na it was New Year and Jax was with his parents sa ibang bansa and she was left alone sa house because her parents was w their families.. then Jax surprised her mismo in front of her house — he cut the trip short because he can't bear the idea of her spending New Year's alone 😭. It was one of my favorite scenes. Super attracted talaga ako sa smart and nerdy guys kasi grabe kilig pag sila bumanat. Expensive bardagulans every time they both tease each other. Ang hirap nilang mahalin, but it's all worth it. 🤍🤍🤍
As for Kier, sayang ka talaga. Okay ka naman nung una eh, so where did it all went wrong? Violence and abuse will never be the answer. Kier knew na she's still inlove w Jax but he still agreed to marry her dahil mahal niya. Plus, she tried to love him back rin and she even said na, at some point, she did love Kier. I don't tolerate Kitty's behavior when she was emotionally cheating on Kier when they were married (beginning), it's wrong, but like I said.. Kier knew and he still decided to marry her :) If he was mad at her because of that, his feelings was valid, but his actions could never be acceptable. If you really love her, di mo kaya gawin lahat yun sakanya so.. Slay in hell bitch 😄
From the start until the end, I super love their story. I love the writing style of Ms. Ariesa. I enjoyed Jax's POV so much because it was so unexpected na ang daldal pala ng inner voice niya and I didn't expect him to be really funny 😭 I need MOREEEE chapters huhu I can't let go!!!!
I could talk about this book for HOURS and without getting tired. One of the best stories I've read this year!!
I love you both Jax and Katherine, until we meet again my loves 🥺🤍
This story is definitely a 5/5.

Jax is the book's biggest missed opportunity because he could have been its deepest statement about love. He could have shown that love isn't about how much you give, but about how well you learn. He could have shown that the difference between Kier and him wasn't that one was good and one was bad, but that one learned and one didn't.
Instead, he's a dream. A wish. A man who never had to struggle, never had to change, never had to become.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗝𝗮𝘅 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 - ೃ⁀➷
The book spends over three hundred pages inside Katherine's head. We know her fears, her hopes, her contradictions, her healing. We know what she dreams about at night, what she flinches from during the day, what she whispers to herself when she's alone.
We get almost none of that for Jax.
Think about what we actually know about him. He's smart. He's quiet. He wears glasses. He drives a Range Rover. He has a sister named Joey who he tolerates. He has a friend named Yago who exists mostly off-screen. He likes reading. He's patient. He waits.
The moments where he could become real are always cut short. When he almost fails law school because he's prioritizing Katherine—we don't see his fear, his shame, his internal conflict. We just see the external result. When Katherine breaks up with him—we don't see his grief, his confusion, his process of accepting it. We just see him show up and beg and then disappear for years. When he's tempted to break the law during her trial—we don't see the moral struggle, the sleepless nights, the conversations with himself about who he wants to be. We just see Cha talk him out of it.
The epilogue tries to give him a voice, but it's too late. By then, we've spent the whole book seeing him only through Katherine's eyes. He's been the object of her gaze, her need, her healing. He hasn't been a subject in his own right.
Here's what I mean by missed opportunity: Jax could have been the counterpoint to Kier.
Kier is the man who loved destructively and never learned. Jax could have been the man who loved destructively and did learn. But for that to work, we need to see his destructiveness. We need to see the ways his love was unhealthy, the ways he crossed lines, the ways he had to change.
Instead, his love is presented as pure from the start. He's devoted, patient, and selfless. The only "flaw" is that he loves her too much, which the book frames as romantic rather than concerning.
But if his love was pure from the start, then what did he learn? What did he change? The answer is nothing. He just persisted. He waited. He was the same person at the end that he was at the beginning
That's not character development.

Let me lay this out clearly, because I think it's the most interesting thing the book almost does.
Kier loved Katherine in a way that consumed her. His love demanded things—her time, her attention, her body, her future. When she couldn't give what he demanded, he hurt her. His love became violence. He destroyed her to keep her.
Jax loves Katherine in a way that consumes him. His love demands nothing from her, but everything from himself. He gives and gives and gives until he has nothing left. He almost failed out of law school. He almost breaks the law. He waits for years with no guarantee. His love destroys him instead of her.
They're the same pattern, just pointed in different directions. One is abusive. One is self-destructive. Both are unhealthy.
The difference—the crucial difference—is that Jax learns to love differently. By the end, he's not consuming himself anymore. He's not sacrificing everything. He's not waiting passively. He's asking permission. He's creating space. He's letting her heal alone. He's becoming someone whose love is actually healthy.
But here's the problem, we don't see him learn this. We don't see the moment he realizes his love is self-destructive. We don't see him confront his own patterns. We don't see him choose to change.
It happens off-screen, in the Alaska years, while Katherine is healing. We're told it happened, but we're not shown it. And without that showing, the parallel with Kier loses its power.
Because here's the question the book never asks: What made Jax different? Kier also loved Katherine. Kier also would have died for her—he literally did. Kier also was capable of kindness, of devotion, of sacrifice. So why did Kier become the abuser and Jax become the healer?
The book's answer seems to be: because Jax is Jax. He's just good. He was always good. He never had to become good.
But that's not an answer.
The real answer—the one the book almost reaches for but doesn't grab—is that Jax had people who called him out. Cha yelled at him. Katherine left him. He faced consequences. He had to sit with his pain alone and decide who he wanted to be.
Kier never had that. Kier's family enabled him. Kier's money protected him. Kier never faced a moment where he had to look at himself and choose differently.
That's the parallel. That's the missed opportunity. Two men who loved the same woman, both capable of destruction, both capable of change. One had people who held him accountable. One didn't.
The book gestures at this but never states it. And without stating it, Jax remains a fantasy—the man who was always good—rather than a real person who had to fight to become good.
IF I could rate it 10/10, definitely would. Yep it's THAT good. I'm loving the plot already and then boom, the twist??!?! So unexpected. Beeyotch just really know how to made her readers feel all kind of emotions. Remember all the times I wondered what it feels like to be inside the author's mind, I'd give up anything. Like ano kaya naiisip niya habang isinusulat niya 'yon? How'd she come up with these mind-blowing ideas? No doubt she's studying law (tho she's already graduate now) habang sinusulat niya 'to. It also tackle some serious social issues such as injustice and violence, knowing it can be risky kapag hindi na-execute ng maayos but Miss Ariesa Domingo really did well. Katamtaman lang 'yung pacing, not so fast nor slow. No fillers. No Loopholes. Full of lessons esp sa Marriage, hindi lang puro kilig at kababawan. Jax and Katherine is the greenest of all green flags couple!! Sobrang healthy ng relationship (well, before the conflict)
IT SHOULD BE A TV SERIES.!! THE LINES ARE TOP TIER, THE PLOT TWIST, AND THE WRITING STYLE!!!🙌 SOBRANG NAKAKADALA DIN 'YUNG NARRATIONS LALO NA NUNG NAGKUKWENTO NA SI KATHERINE, 'TE YUNG HAGULGOL KO?!?!@((#($ YOU THINK YOU CAN BREAK ME? BRUH I'VE READ PTG FOR THE NTH TIMEEE ALREADY
IT'S THE BOOK I WOULD NEVER GET TIRED OF RE-READING AND RECOMMENDING. THE BOOK THAT TOOKS ME TIME TO READ THE OTHER BOOKS IN THE SERIES. MY ALL TIME FAVE AND THE REASON WHY I'M A BEECH. IF YOU DON'T AND HAVEN'T READ IT YET THEN YOU'RE MISSING.
I'D SACRIFICE MY NEIGHBOR JUST TO READ IT FOR THE FIRST TIME AGAIN.

The last time I read a beeyotch story was Seducing Drake Palma — basically a long time ago...
Okay... Let me just say it... Play The Game deserves the hype it gets.
Pinakilig ako sa story ni Kitty at Jax kasi parang kailan lang, hinahanga lang ni Kitty si Jax. I still remember how I shrieked nung umamin na si Jax sa kanya. Hell, I shrieked so loudly and that was night time, for haven's sake.
Teared me up as well.. And god, I still cannot move on na mahal pa rin talaga ni Kier si Kitty. I just felt like he turned violent kasi galit at pagod na siyang hindi mahalin. He gave his everything but nothing is reciprocated.. Parang nanalo nga siya kasi pinakasalan siya ni Kitty pero talo pa rin kasi si Jax parin yung mahal niya... and that's why he went mad.
I love the resolutions rin talaga. I love the characters' personalities... I love the plot – how it was properly planned talaga. You can see kasi while reading it na talagang painstaking yung process ng planning ng Play The Game.
Since my review contains spoilers, I'm assuming na ang nagbabasa ng review nato ay nakatapos na rin.. What do you think?
This is definitely a 5 out 5 stars story. It deserves to be hyped, to be known, to be read. ♡♡♡

At the beginning Kitty and Jax is your typical love story. Wherein the girl chased that one boy and then she fell hard but he fell harder.
But, I never expect the plot twist of this book. It is so nerve wracking a roller coaster ride, I mean. From the separation of people who love each other until they find a new love again they face different challenges in life until it happen again to return to each other's company. Sa unang pag-ibig.
To Kier, I would never tolerate your wrong doings to Kitty within your marriage. But, thank you for all the good things you have done to her.
At last, she finally back to where she belongs. Who? Her first love. Jax.

This book made me kilig, happy, sad, and mad at the same time. I remember I cried a lot when Jax had to go outside because he can't bear to hear Kitty's trauma and how regretful he is when he didn't gave a chance to listen to Kitty's explanation before.
And I was amazed with Kitty for being strong. Also , with Cha for being a good friend to Jax and for not hesitating to help Kitty.
Overall, I love this book! And for sure, I'm gonna read the other story. Ugh! It makes me wanna go to law school (why did i choose med? jk)
I'm encouraging all of you to read this book :)

i love how the story unfolds and yung boring slash slow ass build up pala has a reason bc the rest will be full of tragedy (😆) anw would definitely recommend this book and i definitely want an inigo in my life (i haven't read his story and idk if i would but yeah). -1 star because the story is surprisingly so short and kulang ang mga parts ng story so many unfinished bizzness wth youre so not cool for this, beeyotch. ending is so so rushed but whatever. fina-fucking-ly indeed ! ilysm jax, kitty, and cha ❤️🩹
This book is just freaking exceptional. The plot twist, the characters and how it ended is just amazing. It truly is one of the best in series and because of the first book I got enchanted in reading the rest of the series.
Imagine your ex-boyfriend being your lawyer because you are a suspect in killing your husband. Damn. This is heavy themed drama and I could not stop reading. I have actually re-read this twice and it still has the same effect on me. Truly an amazing book.
beeyotch i wasn’t familiar with your game 🥹 this is actually the first story i’ve read from this author since i just got back into the wattpad world HAHA. i loved everything— plot, pacing, storyline, writing style, everything.
the storyline is super good and interesting. this is the first time in a while that i’ve read something nonstop bcos i got so hooked. i really missed this feeling.
such a strong start for a book series ! ! i’m so excited for the next onesss 🙂↕️
my first ever beeyotch story and started strong HUH fuck u kier! i hate him but he didnt deserve to die imo (jailed, absolutely!) mahal nya naman kasi talaga si kitty :( he was just blinded by his anger (not justifying the abuse, tarantado pa rin sya) ABT NMN KAY INIGO, he's just doing his job... nawalan na sya ng kaibigan pati ba naman si cha at ng anak, tangina lang ha. ANW the special chapters are LT as fuck, ung pov ni jax LOL iihian nya raw puntod ni kier HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

4.5! book: very interesting, the author balanced both romance between two characters and other side characters while maintaining the plot of the story.
characters: i love how she portrayed kitty and jax, especially kitty since she's the first mature character ive truly liked.
I just remember bawling my eyes out in the middle of a morning class break and getting my eyes all red for the rest of the day. I just remember eating this book up like I was a hungry lioness. This is the reason why I was considering on taking PolSci (but never did lol too expensive). Thanks to this first book I fell in love with Game Series by Beeyotch.
OH MY GOSH 😭😭😭😭😭💗💗💗💗 THIS WAS SO GOOD!! It's not your typical Wattpad story. This was so different and better than what I expected. I couldn't stop reading it. It was just so entertaining. Law school scares me, LOL. AMAZING!!!!!! AAAAAA 🥹🥹🥹 All the plot twists and dark turns were not confusing AT ALL. The author's way of writing was just SO GOOD. KITTY AND JAX OMG 😍😍😍😍
I love how this book was very real— the court scenes, especially. The emotions in this book were too much, it made me stare at my ceiling for too long.
The part where Siobhan appeares to provide proof for the case was pretty lacking and unconvincing but overall, good job, Beeyotch!

This is still my favorite wattpad book years after reading it. This masterpiece deserves a bigger audience! Truly a must-read. It tackles different issues and showcases truly unique and complex characters.
bitin sa sweet moments between jax and kitty, but i really loved the court scenes and the conflict. nakalimutan ko name ng deceased husband ni kitty (deserved). i wonder, if only jax lowered his pride...
