With an arranged marriage forced upon me, I do the only thing a rational twenty-year-old would do. Resist. Funny thing is, the queen doesn’t enjoy being disobeyed. With no other choice I flee my kingdom, hoping to stay hidden and far away from relationships with the opposite sex.

Enter Flynn Right, gorgeous and obnoxiously charming bounty hunter. He doesn’t know who I am and I’m trying not to fall for him but every wink he sends my way weakens my defenses.

Two things I know for
1. Flynn Right is my kryptonite.
2. My mother, the queen, won’t let me go without a fight.

This book contains adult themes and language.

I devoured this book in one sitting! It was amazing! The way the world was divided and how the magic for each section fit them was great. I loved the way the relationships developed and evolved. I NEED to see how this story progresses.

I decided to try this author upon a recommendation from one of my favourites and I could not be happier for discovering her. This author is amazing, writes great stories and creates a world that just draws the reader in. Her writing is beautiful and I read this book in one go, and got completely lost in it. I hope I will manage to convey my love for this author's books here.
This book is incredibly sweet, and wonderful and colourful. The characters are well developed and the author's writing is beautiful. I was already well into the second book when I realised that I needed to read this story first to get a better idea of the world, and what an amazing world it is! I also realised that although it is not necessary to read these in order, reading this book first gives a better understanding of the world and contributes greatly to the enjoyment of the series.
Some parts of this and the next book, overlap and the characters show up, which makes this series even more exciting. For example Winter from the second book makes an appearance and Flynn from this book makes an appearance in the next one.
This book tells a story of Ezme, the unloved daughter of the Blue Waters Queen, who is trying to escape an arranged marriage forced on her by the Queen, and she meets Flynn, a bounty hunter and an array of interesting characters. The characters are amazing, and some of them so lovable, while some of them are pretty scary.
There is so much love, affection, friendship, as well as secrets, betrayal, suspense. Overall, this was an incredibly exciting book, amazing read and I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next. Now back to the next book The Wanted. I have a feeling this author already became one of my favourites.

I devoured this book, loving the well thought out plot and intense world building, I can’t wait to read more!
Ezme is a well fleshed out character who develops greatly throughout the story and the characters around her are more than just plot points but thoroughly developed personalities of their own.
The twists and turns throughout this narrative keep you glued to the book and eager for more, it is very easy to devour in one sitting. This magic filled world and it’s kingdoms are something I will definitely be returning to.

This book was amazing!! This story grabbed me from the start. Ezme's mother wants to mandate who she will marry. So Ezme runs away from her kingdom and her controlling mother. This is just the start of her adventure. This book is filled with mystery, realistic characters, twists, and romance. It's well thought out, entertaining, beautifully written, and I was thoroughly impressed and can't wait to read more from this author.

Queens, mermaid, and treachery oh my

The book started out slow for me and I had a little bit of trouble getting into the MC but I am glad I finished it. Was a good story and Ezemeralda will make a great queen

I definitely enjoyed The Waters! Learning about the different kingdoms and the lives of Ezme and her friends was a joy. Ezme and Mia escape from their kingdom so that Ezme can become more than what she is. She is able to escape her controlling mother and enroll in school on the land. She finds out that life is not what it seems. She doesn't know the full extent of her power or her mother's. She flees from her arranged marriage and meets a dangerous(ly attractive) man. Finding out how to be a better person for her kingdom and finding out the truth about her family takes Ezme on a wild ride.

Mermaids and Magic

Loved the story/plot, the world, the pace (never a dull moment), relationships, twists and themes. The author built a very imaginative world and hope to read about the other realms soon!
Please note as the disclaimer states: This book does contain strong language and adult scenes.

Ezme life is turning upside down. Her mother wants her to get married and dictates who she should marry. Ezme see no choice but to run away. Getting away isn't easy and is just the beginning of the adventure. There is mystery and romance on this adventure. The author has created an interesting world filled with magic. I look forward to reading more from this author.

3.5 stars

The first half of this book was perfect. Perfectly paced. Perfect reflection of character growth. Perfect storyline.

About the middle of the book, things became muddied. The characters acted differently, almost regressing. The relationship between Ezme and Mia changed. The relationship between Ezme and Flynn felt incomplete and rushed, almost forced. The storyline seem to fall apart.

Hence the 3.5 stars.

Will I read the other book? The book that seems to come first, before this one? Maybe. But not asap as planned.

So good, absolutely can't miss reading!!

I was extremely excited to get my hands on this book after reading The Wanted. It's definitely a different twisted on a standard fairytale. It's amazingly entertaining and well written. Aside from the MC's Flynn and Ezme, there are definitely reoccurring/cameo appearances from characters previously brought up in The Wanted. I loved how there was some interaction. The author does an amazing job at creating a world that can easily be imagined.

I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Great author!

I’ve read pretty much all of the books by this author and I’m in love. I’ve never found an author that I liked more than one of their series before! I’m an avid reader and I love the writing style that Rory Miles has and I highly recommend this book and their other series that are out!
