The tag line says the extraordinary story, well i don't connect to that. Its just a plane story of a family, nothing exciting.
The plot is slow, regular and doesn't have a goal actually.
The narration was boring, as i said nothing exciting. Nothing different, i didnt find anything based on real life.
Editing is bad, atleast grammer could have been better.
I just found it boring.

Every family seems ordinary that is until you've heard their story. This book is about one such family, a family that doesn't have anything extraordinary, they are not members of a long line of actors or businessmen. They're just that, ordinary. The tag line promises you an extraordinary story which I have to say, it failed in doing.

Not only the plot is simple and basic, the storyline doesn't progress enough for you to feel that it's going in any direction.

It's a dramatic tale of a family and how they overcome the hardships in their lives. I do feel sorry though because the story is said to be based on real events of the author but the writing style and the characters didn't make me feel connected in any. I'd even say that characters seemed one dimensional to such a point that I couldn't even have bothered to feel anything for them. I blame the monotonous narration and dull writing style which distracted me even before I finished reading the first page.

The book could've been more inspiring and impactful if it was written more deeply. There are tons of grammatical errors which I couldn't ignore even if I wanted to. The switching of tense made me loose even an ounce of attention I was trying to give the story.

Since the plot isn't refreshing or enthralling, I was heavily depending on the authors writing ability to compensate for it which didn't happen.

It feels more like the author was telling us the story instead of making us live it. The dialogue delivery was unbearable too.

The journey the author was trying to take the reader to, simply ended before it even started, Atleast for me.

It could've been better if it was written in a more professional way and if it was edited so that it could've been more polished and maybe then it wouldn't have felt like I was reading the first draft of a script that belongs to a dramatic bollywood film.

I need something to work for me, Either a remarkable plot or relatable characters. I wish the author all the best for future.

If you are looking for fancy fiction story or any actor/business man struggle story. If you are looking for some amazing goal oriented story than search for other books because Kikki is a simple, totally connecting, not at all boring yes bit slow.

Kikki is all about how a family should be in this modern world. What is family? No matter what bad or good, small or big, achievements or disappointments. Family always stick together. No friends no cousins no guardian angels will stay forever but family will.

Yes it is an extraordinary story.
Kikki truly motivated me.

All five fingers are different but if you respect and understand than even Time can’t defeat you.

The story of Kikki lives in almost all the lower and middle class households in India where
financial constraints bring innumerable hardship, parents struggle to meet both the ends, don't even eat a square meal but still dreams for a better future for their kids and saves money to achieve it. Parents sacrifice their present for a better future for their children.

Kaushal Vijay aka Kikki tells his story, but it fails to connect. The writing doesn't breathes life into his story. I was not able to feel his and his family's hardship, couldn't bring myself to
emphasize with his struggle, couldn't care less about his career, to be happy or sad with him. It was a sheer failure on his part to present his story in the extraordinary manner.

Dialogues were not impactful, plotting was not interesting, faulty narrative style and glaring
grammatical mistakes further puts dent in the reading experience.

The memoir has been written in a passive narrative style. More like writing in causal speaking English where the author has jotted down events and incidents of his life like a journal. Without any insights and deep reflection, the narrative sounds monotonous almost predictable and
boring to read.

BOOK REVIEW

Book Name : Kikki
Author’s Name : Kaushal Vijay
No. of Pages : 178
Genre : Family Fiction
Target Audience : -
Age Rating : -
Approximate Reading Time : 3 Hours
Publisher: Frog Books
My Rating : 5/5

Everyone writes stories about extraordinary people, successful people and happy endings.
But, as we all know- they are not as real as they seem. Some people are present who work
harder and still fail but they never give up.This story about Kikki was one of them. It tells us
that despite the number of problems which we face throughout life can be overcome with
unity, hard work, determination and hope.

This book is a sort-of an autobiography of the author and also his debut novel, which
highlights the problems of a middle class family while the main idea of the book is to show
how to get through hardships with the help of your family and with their unity. The book
focuses on the author’s life from the time he was three years old until he’s in college. It shows
how the author falls and stands up despite his faliures and one day he gets what he wants,
with hope dimming and brightening just like the sun between rainy clouds.

The characters were very powerful and had a lasting impact on me. All of them were equally
interesting and are forever going to remain in my heart. The storyline was very intriguing
and relatable. The author’s writing style made even ordinary things extraordinary and could
inspire many struggling families. The trope I personally loved was when the bad things
happen and the family gets back to square one but still a small good thing- a ray of hope
keeps them going.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has or had a family or has a goal in life. This is
something very common in all households today but the author had the courage to bring his
story to the readers and he must receive appreciation for that.

Overall, This book is
something I’d recommend to each and everyone who has little hope left but still keep going
to fetch what’s better.

#qotd🌸 : which book made you cry?

Kikki🌸

"What goes around comes back around" a lyric from Justin Timberlake song " so relatable to Kikki's story.

When @kikkivijay gifted me this book I never thought I would cry in the end.

This is my first read of August and it's a plight of Kikki and family. How every situation made them stronger.

Kaushal aka Kikki born in Kota, Rajasthan lived a happy and memorable childhood until his father met with an accident. At a very young age Kikki understands how to be strong and mature. His father's illness breaks them into pieces every hope of recovery turned negative. But as a family there is lot of sacrifice, love and hard work. The story also reminds father is a gift from God and he strives to give happiness and comfort life for his wife and kids.

After his father's accident they realise having a good relationship with neighbours, friends and family helped them in many difficult situation. His mom works hard to run family , pay his father's medical bills.and save money for his education.

Kikki's family has lost everything but they relived with confidence and ray of optimism. Indeed his mother and sisters sacrificed a lot .

Kikki's dream to get a seat in NIT is truly a nightmare!!! Wait ! Does luck work for him? You should read this book to know how life take good turns.

Cons: I wouldn't appreciate the editing part. It should have edited properly..

All the best Kikki ❤️

🍂 Never did I thought that someone would have courage to attempt writing about one's own life even when they had to go through the circumstances like these. Firstly, I owe you a Thank You author for bringing this story infront of us.

🍂 This is a story of Kikki. A little boy who had to go through a lot of tragedies sailing through life. He was so small to deal with such circumstances. He grew up watching all the struggles they went through. Everyone in his family were working to let their stuck boat float again and that's a blessing that helps you to move forward. He felt like doing something for his family.

🍂 He dreamt of getting into an NIT for his engineering and studied so hard for it, seeing everything falling infront of him, it might be so difficult. But that motivated him to work even harder and help his family to rise up again. According to me, Kikki had become so mature in his little age as he had dealt with so many hard times.

🍂 But even after you do everything right, things do not tend to fall in place and that hurts the most. It was the time when he could not get admission in NIT inspite of getting a seat. He had to try for an private engineering college. That moment I felt, why do he have to go through this? Why?

🍂 Circumstances build you. True that!

🍂 Thankfully, his life flipped the side of it's coin and miraculously he got back where he was meant to be. The book ended on a happy note and I was happy about it. This book leaves behind an untold lesson of all the times, to love your parents because they are the ones before everything else.

If I've read anything dissapointing recently. Then this would be it. There was nothing new here. Same old plain sophomore sophisticated bland story. It describes about a family & nothing else.
Plot is monotonous, featish & slow. Narration is boring & cumbersome. It was so tiresome to finish it.
There was nothing interesting. Nothing new which could be deciphered out of the book.

Language was incompressible incomprehensible & way too simple. Even the editing was poor. I came across too many mistakes in various levels. Story doesn't connect with me in anyway. The way it describes in blurb & description to be realistic. However, I couldn't find anything that could lead me to real life.

The story basically involves Kikki who lives in a common home from a common place. Like how most of us fall in the cataclysmic catacombic caterpillary category of middle class where households hardly sustains anything for the children, let alone the entire family. The only aspect is liked is the way author pointed out the common man & his struggles to meet ends to lead a normal lifestyle. How often parents & other members of the family, fail to accomplish dreams & they also fail to accommodate their happiness. In turn, sacrificing everything for their children!

"When parents do everything they could to see the children successful and if children do everything they could just to see a smile on the face of their parents, miracles tend to happen."

Congrats to Vijay Sir for his debut novel✨ this seems to good to be someone's first. ☺
By hearing all the success stories of big people, we also want success but no one wants to go through the journey and hardships of achieving it. The story describes the reality of step by step work, hope, determination and everything to achieve what one truly desire 🌻
Kikki talks about everything that the author's family went through for him and his struggle to do justice to it. An extraordinary story of an ordinary family. ✨
This book blew my mind and it was relatable to such a deep extent. I think everyone will be able to relate to this as how much a family goes through to help your fulfill the thing your desire, even without you saying that and how much of importance they hold in our lives. I really enjoyed the narrative of this. They were a lil grammatical errors which didn't bother me much because the story was kinda inspiring to read✨

Definitely RECOMMENDED to atleast give it a read once!!!

Two words for this book - overwhelming and inspiring.

Kikki was a young boy, living his happy life with his parents and sisters when suddenly life starts to cruel up itself. The story conveys a beautiful message that no matter how thick the fog of darkness gets, we should never lose hope. We should stay honest to ourselves and keep working hard.

The value of family is another wonderful thing we get to learn from this story. Parents always try to give the best to us no matter what situation they are going through. They've never intended to get anything in return from us. They just pray for our prosperity and happiness.

The best part was the story 🌻❤, and the bad part was the writing errors, as few paragraphs made me sob at night while few dumped me into a reading slump. I've struggled to finish reading it as it was really slow paced.

I've read autobiography before and I would say I've always loved it as I get to know different aspects of life.

EVERY LIFE STORY IS UNIQUE 🌻

I recommend this to everyone because little Kikki is really an extraordinary story of an ordinary family 💖

This is an extraordinary story of a young boy named Kikki and his ordinary family..
Everything was going smoothly for Kikki and his family they used to celebrate every function of their family travel with family and friends. Then there was a turning point to his family when his father met an unfortunate accident and losses his memory. To this point on Kikki's family started facing financial difficulties, there was no source of income..
Then Kikki's mother started a small business that was tiffin service and she took hold of their financial problems and supported the family,
Nikki was feeling so bad for his mother who was alone taking care of the family's financial condition, he wanted to quickly get admission to the NIT and graduate with top scores and get a job so that he can support his family and ease the burden of his mother.

Finally, his all hard work paid off and he got admission to the NIT Jalandhar...

The author explained all the difficulties an ordinary middle-class family faces and how humanity still exists in this world...

Kikki's family was happy till his father met with accident and got paralysed.
His family was not able to manage anything with Kikki having two small sisters as well.

His mother supported his father by starting tiffin services to all near by students yet as they were not able to manage, there came a time when they sold their house to overcome financial problems.

But Kikki had a dream - to get success from all the problems his family was facing by hardwork, and strong will he finally got admission in a govt. college where he wanted.

Ⓦⓗⓐⓣ Ⓘ ⓛⓘⓚⓔ :

Strong heart of Kikki's family, even of his small sisters who didn't give up in a bad situation - one can learn instead of crying and blaming; when everyone work with togetherness, even bad phases has to go.

Nature of Kikki's mother, who did her work and support her husband without blaming and comparing others.

Last chapter's glimpse, when he got admission in a college; that description of happiness made me happy.

The things which can't be expressed by our parents, Siblings can only be understood by the situation was faced their parents.
I loved Papa's attitude towards life " your smile and jolly nature is the signature of your personality." is a much more reassurance that you are leading a beautiful life.
Truly said by papa :- " My mother is goddess for us ."
For MAA I have no words.. she is the best Better half as well as the best mother.
And the author Kaushal Vijay ( kikki) Hatts off to you brother.

Kikki is a debut novel by @kikkivijay that tells the struggles of an ordinary family striving hard to fulfill their extraordinary dreams. It is based on true life events of the author. It shows us that no good deeds are ever wasted, hard work always pays off, miracles happen and when all hope is gone, life takes a U turn ✨

For me, more than the struggles and achievements of the author, it was about the struggles and achievements of his mother. She is such a strong woman, a supportive wife and a fearless mother. I loved her so much and felt sooooo connected to her.

Couldn't have read the parts where the author talks about his dadi (grandmother) without puddles of tears in my eyes.

The language of the book is simple. Although, the narration could have been better. I believe @kikkivijay can do magic with his words. Can't wait for more of his work to get published.

It is a short read and I recommend this to everyone, but especially to the students preparing for various competitive exams. It is definitely going to benefit young students.

A story about a family where the author struggles in most of his adolescent years and how he overcame and handled all the adversities of life. The pages talk about how he finally outshines what he and his family dreamt of.
The story intrigues one as it involves trails of ups and down. It keeps the reader engrossed in the experiences of kikki's life.

This book is especially for all the people who are struggling in life. It will motivate everyone to work hard and make them understand that if Kikki succeeded in such an extreme complicacies then definitely one can.

KIKKI- An Extraordinary Story of an Ordinary Family by Kaushal Vijay
The story is about the life of an author and his family.
Kaushal and his sisters have seen and struggled a lot at an early age. He had to worry on how to minimize their family problems. From everything to nothing, the family has gone through a lot of hardships. A father, who had dreamt of a better life for his family, seemed to fight for his livelihood. A mother has been seen arranging funds for her husband's treatment and making tiffins for students to run their daily household expenses.

➡️Never give up,
➡️Learn to fight in the toughest times, and
➡️Motivate yourself to achieve your dreams.

This ia a story of a family who deals with day to day hardship and problems.
Nothing new nothing extraordinary.
Simple story with no twist and turns.
I was expecting more from this book.
I was not connected with the author.
I wish strory could be more impact full and encouraging.
