This is the first book I’ve read by Michelle Dare and wow! The world she built within The Ash Moon was phenomenal. She had me entrances from beginning to end. I loved the characters, not sure who is my fave between Orion and Ford. They’re both so different and their personalities grab you and pull you in. You just want to know more about hers characters. Ford will have you laughing but Orion will have you swooning. There’s so much going on that you can’t help needing to know what’s coming next. Each turn of the page brings us something new and exciting. I really enjoyed reading about these characters and can’t wait to find out what is to come next in book two. Michelle Dare definitely has an eye for YA Paranormal Romance and has become one of my fave authors to read!

For the most part I enjoyed this series but by book 3 I was pretty over the "just an average girl whom every hottie falls in love with." It started to feel like a repetitive circle of everyone telling her how wonderful she is and how much they love her but can't have her. I get it, she's unlike any girl that ever existed. EVER.

The Ash Moon

We are introduced to Ariane.... she is at a book signing for her favorite author. Little did she know that everything she thought was fake in the books she loves so much was real, and her life was going to change from that meeting.
She is set up by her favorite author to meet Orion. Ari doesn't understand what she is feeling but knows she is pretty much obsessed. Rion knows what is happening and takes steps to make her his.
Of course, like with any good paranormal romance, nothing is ever easy. Ari is being hunted by her grandparents' old pack. Because of this, she meets different paranormals along the way.

Ford is Ari's first encounter with a vampire, and their first encounter is very interesting. They definitely have chemistry.... I feel theirs is more natural than Rion and Ari.

Ari is still struggling to grasp all of the new information being thrown at her. Before she can get a hold of everything, she is blackmailed into a dinner by a rival pack. Everything goes to pot, and it ends with a death, an all-out brawl, and a blackout.

Needless to say, I am so glad I have the bundle of this trilogy because I need to know what happens next.

The Somber Call

Ari is riddled with guilt of her actions the night of the dinner gone wrong.
Wake is introduced, and I feel so bad for him and am glad Ari is standing up for him.
Orion's mentality towards Wake really pissed me off, and I was so glad to see it mended.
A secret family history is revealed after a tragic death, and Ari becomes more focused as she gains more understanding of the paranormal world. This doesn't stop her from making mistakes as most 18 years old would, but she seems to learn from them.
Final question: Can she turn a brother against a brother? Lines will be drawn as they edge closer to war.

The Crucial Shift

Ari and Rion finally decide to complete their bond amongst all the attacks because they know tomorrow isn't promised, and they want to take that time out for themselves. There are so many unknowns they are bombarded with that they don't really get time to rest, and no one close to them is safe.

The Avynwood Pack and Allies won the pack war with tremendous loss. I was on an emotional rollercoaster, and I am glad Dare added some funny scenes to put a bandaid over my aching heart. I also enjoyed seeing the bonds between Ari, Wake, Rion, and Ford strengthen. I was especially happy for Wake because he has been and is still going through so much. I am impatiently waiting for him to get more sunshine in his life because he deserves it more than anybody.
This trilogy ends with a HEA..... for now.

The Ariane Trilogy are a fantastic set of stories that grow and develop so well.
The Ash Moon
This is a four-star story that shows promise. I decided to give this a go on audiobook as I had read the author before and enjoyed the story, so when I was looking for something easy to listen to on my drive this seemed to fit the bill, I don’t know if it was the speed I was listening to it, as I did have to speed it up as I just couldn’t cope with the slow speech, or the characters themselves but it took me a while to get into it, Ariane just seems to immature for her age at times, and a little wide eyed, but then in the next breath she is fully accepting everything, and ogling everyone around her, then back to oh no I’m too young in the next breath. It does seem to have gotten better the further along I went, and I am now halfway through number two in the trilogy and that’s better still, it still has its moments, but overall, it’s okay. So, I went with a four overall for this, as I didn’t love huge chunks, but then I did love other chunks and it does seem to be getting better, if you struggle at first keep going, and if its audiobook turn the speed up slightly, it works wonders.
The Somber Call
The second instalment of the Ariana trilogy was a little better than the first in my opinion, but it still felt a little rushed, some parts of the story go into very deep details, but then other details are like boom major plot line, and its over in a couple of lines, that disparity meant that I struggled in places, yet then other places I was so hooked I sat In my car for almost an hour as I just couldn’t move as I needed to know what was going to happen next. I have enjoyed the first two stories in the trilogy, and am excited to get my teeth sunk into the next instalment, as the final battle is coming and I am excited to see who will turn up.
The Crucial Shift
What an epic final battle, this was one of those stories that will surprise you, the battle itself was strong, and the way they all face it, will blow you away, there are moments that will break you, but then you see the bonds between Ari, Wake, Ford and Ryan, and those bonds fix you back together again, making your whole in a way that you didn’t see possible.

The Ash Moon Review:
I'm so glad Michelle decided to write this YA paranormal romance! There aren't enough words to describe my love for this new series. I have been a fan of Michelle's writing for years and love everyone of her books. This new series pulled me in. I couldn't put it down. There were many twists and turns. It was impossible to guess what was going to happen next. The writing will suck you into Ari's emotions and keep you engaged in the storyline.
This is not a standalone and ends in a massive cliffhanger.
Told in Ari's POV.

The Somber Call Review:
The Ariane Trilogy is fast becoming a favorite YA Paranormal Romance. The writing is fantastic and the storyline keeps you engaged. The second book in this trilogy is an emotional one. It will have you both laughing and crying.
Not a standalone and ends in a cliffhanger. Michelle has a special talent with leaving you wanting for the next book. Even if you're not a fan of cliffhangers, this series is worth it!

The Crucial Shift Review:
Not a standalone and the final book of Ari's story. This series is amazing! The Crucial Shift is full of twists and turns and action packed. Hold on for an emotional rollercoaster. I couldn't put it down and needed to know what happens next.
I loved Ari's story and am super excited that Michelle is going to continue with other character stories.

MUST READ SERIES

THE ASH MOON
I absolutely love Michelle’s paranormal books. Every time I read one of Michelle’s paranormal books, I never want too put my kindle down. I love everything about this book, the story, the sexy AF shifters and of course the vampire Ford. Ariane and Orion have an undeniable connection that I can’t get enough of. I can’t wait too see what happens next especially that ending. I need the next book ASAP.

THE SOMBER CALL
Absolutely a MUST READ. I absolutely love Ari, Rion and Ford. My heart crushes for Ford but I know Ari belongs to Rion. This series just gets better and better and definitely tugs on your heartstrings. With Travis still coming after them, they need every paranormal on their side. Amazing characters that will have you wanting more books of these characters especially Wake. Amazing 5 Star read and the ending OMG I can’t wait too read the next book.

THE CRUCIAL SHIFT
I am absolutely in love with this series. The characters, the story, everything about this book I love. This series will definitely pull on your heartstrings, will make you swoon for Rion and Ford and I’m so excited there will be a spin off series. Michelle has a way of making you feel like you’re in the characters world. Another amazing series that every paranormal lover should one click.

I have no words that would truly say how good this Trilogy is.
This was an amazing paranormal story. Ariana ( Ari ) is a normal high school girl that loves to read, so when her and her bestie get to meet their favorite author everything changes. Orion ( Rion) knew the minute he saw Ari she was the one. These two live in different worlds but their worlds collide and now they have to trust each other to get out of the mess they find themselves in. Yes this book ends in a cliffhanger but thank god book to is out. Such a great story.
BOOK 2 is a continuations of thr Story between Ari and Rion. The wolf war is around the corner and they need to build their pack. Ari finds out more about her parents pass and thinks start to click into place.
So as Book 2 end its picked right backup in book 3. The war between packs has come and it's a fight till the end. The bond between Orion and Ari is strong but with the help of their pack and Ford they have a winning chance but will they be able to beat Travis and Benedict. Can the Avynwood Pack finally live in peace. Grab your copy and find out.

I can’t get enough of this world! Michelle you are a genius, this concept of writing is simply amazing. Absolutely fantastic characters that I love already. Such a unique storyline. The personalities of the characters are so much fun. Truly spectacular!

The Somber Call

Omg I have shivers up my arms!! This whole world is captivating. I can’t get enough. Excellent action and adventure. Brilliant writing skills from Michelle. This is a must for your book shelf or library. Make sure you have enough time to read without interruption as you won’t be able to put it down!!!

The Crucial Shift

Amazing, truly amazing. This has EVERYTHING. Action, adventure, humour, love, hate, revenge...oh it’s just so so good. I really wanted to call in sick at work so I could read this 3rd and final book! But I also never wanted it to end. I can’t tell you how much these three books consumed my life. Highly addictive and highly recommended. Michelle, these are your best work so far. I’m looking forward to seeing where this shifter/vampire/fae from these books go on to.

One the best!

This trilogy is one of my favorite supernatural books. I blew through the series once before, so quickly I could not put it down. This time, I read slower and enjoyed everything - But, I know I’ll be re-reading this series over and over again!

World building is epic and seamless. You are immersed into this new supernatural world along with the Ari - so it never feels unrealistic. As the books progress the weirder gets more normal, so it feels normal - which is pretty incredible especially in supernatural books

The characters are beautifully flawed, strong willed and most important strong loving.

The best part about this is, you can tell a reader wrote this. Because I think every reader dreams of their favorite books being true and real. 💜

Wonderful clean paranormal romance!

I'd highly recommend reading this series to others! This is an amazing trilogy that has a lot of action but is clean enough that I had no trouble suggesting to my 7th grade daughter! As soon as I finished it I immediately gave her my other Kindle to read it on and she was immediately laughing about the same humorous points that I loved! Then, because I liked this so much & because the author also wrote a spin-off series, I immediately borrowed the first two books and I've already finished those! Now I had to start reviewing so I can start exchanging those two for the next one's because I am loving them too! Simply fantastic!

So not for me.

During whole book the heroine was bossy and not considerate and then when she was considerate, she was whiny. Drove me crazy. The love story wasn't enough to keep me either. I just couldn't buy it because of her. I didn't finish. I skipped to the end of book three and was glad I didn't waist anymore of my time. Eeww.

MC is immature and doesn’t learn

I liked Ari well enough the first book but as the story progressed, I found her stubborn, naive, impulsive nature reckless rather than endearing...unlike every single character in the book.

Overall this read like a tween book. Simplistic story, convenient plot devices.

Fantastic read

I don’t often read many paranormal books if I’ve never heard about them but this one had me hooked from the first page and I couldn’t put it down. Having said that I also just purchased the trilogy in paperback so I can share it with my niece because she’ll love it too.

Absolutely LOVED this series of books. You will fall in love with these people and their world. Dive right in and you will never want to leave. The Avynwood pack series takes up where these leave off and you are in for a treat. Fabulous world, amusing characters and plenty of humor and action as well as romance.

I really enjoyed the premise of this series - that a paranormal romance reader found a true mate in a wolf shifter as foreseen by the author is intoxicating to a paranormal romance reader! But the plot line is enjoyable and reasonably steamy though not as much as other books in this genre. I definitely prefer a bit of spice in my sauce... but I still recommend this to paranormal romance fans!

This was a good shifters series. It reminded me a lot of the Twilight writing style and is definitely geared toward early YA readers. Good story lines and the writing flowed easily. I am pretty intrigued to read more books, but am on the fence whether I will because I need more adult action.

Wow instalove to the Max..
And the wolf book thing? That was hard to believe. I have read a lot of shifter romances, a LOT, and I hiiiighly doubt with their desired secrecy they would be okay with something like that.

That was a really good three stories! So believable, even if it wasn't possible. I thought Orion's behavior was a little overly aggressive, but I don't know many wolves. I liked the fact that they could shift back and forth without wrecking their clothes, unlike Cherie Alsop's werewolves.

This was an awesome series! It had vampires, shifters, and fae! What more could you ask for? Oh…mates, more than one interested partner, bff’s, and the list goes on. The only thing that would have made this better was more smut.
