My father asked me to keep the strangest parts of this story to myself, but I've always worked my thoughts out better when I put them on parchment. So, this journey begins the day an angel informed me I would have a baby--before I was even married.
From making goat cheese to disappearing for three months, I traveled further in the next few years than I had in the fourteen years before them. But my spiritual pilgrimage was only beginning.
"You'll call him Jesus," Yahweh's messenger told me. And the old man in the temple let me know a sword would pierce me with many sorrows. Jesus was only the first of four sons I would mother, but his life changed us all. For the better? But not without conflict.

"I loved the story! It is very powerful to think about how Mary would have really felt. It really made me stop and meditate on that for a while." - Kelli Simonds, author Seven Attitude Changing Postures of a Christian
"This is an excellent fictional account of what it might have been like to walk in Mary's shoes. The author did not take any verses out of context, but simply allowed the reader to see the human side of Mary." Barbara, winner of Goodreads copy
Even as a child, Sharon created worlds where life might pose challenges but where unlikely heroes wielded magic for the good of all. In the end, ordinary people won the battle against darkness.
She did grown up things like graduate high school and college, get married and have kids. But she never strayed too far from the door into the mystical realms of story.
Once she had children of her own, they traveled to Narnia with her. She made it her goal to introduce them to her old friends. With them, she made new friends at Hogwarts and rode dragons with Eragon. Together they embraced the joy found on the other side of the magical portal: reading.
Sharon sings stories and weaves spells to transport others to that fantastical place where the weak are heroes. A land where quest completion requires strong character, not a mighty sword arm. Sharon believes three things: Magic is mystery; Hope offers the greatest help; and Success comes to those who refuse to give up a dream. Visit me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sharonleehug...

5 things to look for in A Pondering Heart 1) A mother's expectations and struggles 2)Walking with Jesus day to day 3) Insight into 1st-century Judea 4)Going back to the scriptures to re-read the accounts 5)How Jesus' siblings could have reacted to him.
A special story by author Sharon Hughson. The descriptions of what Mary may have felt as she learned of her special place in the life of Jesus are amazing. The author explains this story is fiction based on fact. There are questions at the end of the book which allow for personal reflection or group study. Great read.
