Shared Gardens

Rate this book
Shared Gardens brings the Garden Trilogy full circle. Claire's journey in search of her birth-mother is chronicled in this intense fictionaliztion of the authors own story of abandonment and adoption. Alice's story of The Swan Garden and that of her daughters in Garden of Nails , are brought together from Finn's perspective, the child deprived of family by antiquated views of morality. It is heart-breaking. It is maddening.

I was born in Castlepollard, an Irish institution that housed pregnant women, then forced them to give up their babies. I was then sent to St. Patrick's Orphanage in Dublin. Is stayed there until Iw as almost five.
I was adopted to the states (California) when I was just shy of five. I am grateful to my adoptive family for the care in getting me healthy and providing what I needed to continue to grow.
After a lot of really hard work, I graduated from college, with a degree in English Literature, and a teaching credential. I taught high school literature for 10 years, then I went back to college and received a credential and RSP certificate to teach special education, where I taught high school sp. ed. for 15 years.
After 25 years total of teaching, I retired from my teaching career, I began a new one: writing.
My first novel is The Swan Garden, was published by HBEPublishing in 2016. My second novel, Garden of Nails was published Feb. 2018. I am currently editing my third novel, Shared Gardens, coming out Winter 2018, which will complete the Garden Trilogy
I live in California, with my husband, 2 dogs and 3 cats. I have two adult children, both involved in education. I also have 3 grandchildren 2 teenagers a swimmer and football player and our 4 year old is a ballerina princess..
This is my life right now, and I could not be happier.

A 449 page novel based on real life events. The third installment of the Garden Trilogy depicting the efforts an adopted woman goes through to find her biological parents.

The heartbreak, the interference, the dejection and the emotional trauma the woman goes through are covered at length in this installment. However, also covered is the drive of the woman that refuses to accept defeat.

All three novels are stand alone novels that are so well written that each reader will probably give you a different sequence in which to read them, but you can’t go wrong by reading them in the sequence they were released. That being 1. “Swan Garden”, 2. “Garden of Nails”, 3. “Shared Gardens”.

These are powerful novels that deal with the who, what, where, when and especially the why that many of the world’s adopted try to find answers for.

Kudos to Anne Biggs for enlightening us to this one woman’s journey.

This 3rd book in Anne's Garden Trilogy was outstanding. I couldn't put it down. Our book club at Palm Village Senior Network has read all 3 books in the last 3 years and had the privilege of having Ms. Biggs join us. The trilogy is grea,t but Shared Gardens is a stand alone novel about the heartache, suppression and misunderstanding of the process of adoption and its mental/physical stresses for all involved. Well done Anne!

Anne Biggs brings an amazing story to its conclusion with Shared Gardens. She takes the reader on a heart wrenching journey as Claire searches for her birth mother in an attempt to find herself. The desire to feel loved pushes her forward as she encounters hurdles that must be navigated along the way. If you’ve enjoyed Anne’s previous books you will not want to miss this one, it is her best book to date.
