Jocelyn York is not prepared to celebrate the winter holidays. With many presents still to buy, a tree still to decorate and travel plans to make, Jocelyn's to-do list is a mile long. Add to the top the seemingly insurmountable grief from learning that her husband Grant, an infantryman for Her Majesty's Army, was killed in action just six months ago. You can safely guess that Jocelyn is not in a joyous spirit.
Andrew Barrington has been honorably discharged from the army and is re-entering civilian life for the first time in seventeen years after a serious injury has left him unfit for active duty. Coming home with a promise from his friend who was killed in action, Andrew has one final mission he must compete: Return Grant York's dog tags to his widow, Jocelyn, along with a final letter. Andrew considers this his final tribute to his friend; a duty he must fulfill.
As these two broken souls collide under the lights of Pemberley, their hearts must decide if their common bond will bring them together or tear them apart.

I really enjoyed their story. It's a perfect, realistic build up; I quite like that there's no insta anything. A great story of two broken people with realistic views, trying to heal themselves. This ends leaving you eagerly anticipating the next book, it's the perfect place to leave off for part one of their story. I can't wait for the next book to see where it goes.
Wow! This was a great introduction to the world of Addison Kline books. A lot of the time I struggle with novellas, because I'm always looking for more. But Pemberley ended in just the right spot. I am so excited for the next installment. I knew I was hooked, when I started tearing up in the first couple of chapters. I have a feeling this couple is going to soar to one of my favorites. :) It doesn't hurt that the story takes place in England, because I'm always a sucker for a story that has a English setting. I always feel like I'm being transported there in my imagination. I will now not so patiently wait to see what happens with these beautifully broken characters next.
I cannot wait to see what’s in store next for Jocelyn and Andrew. What I liked most about this book is it is NOT an insta-love. They admit they have feelings for each other, but it’s a let’s sit back and let things settle.
OMG!!! Addison Kline sure knows how to make you cry!!! The emotions she invokes, through her characters is amazing!! Can't wait to see what happens in her next book!!!
