After a wild work-sponsored Halloween party, entomologist Sam McLean wakes up with a spotty memory—and a pointy set of fangs. Sam’s one-night stand wasn’t just dressed as a vampire; she had the bite to match. Somehow, Sam's unconscious body ends up at the OOPS office, where paranormal crisis counselors Nina, Marty and Wanda give him the down-low on accidentally becoming a creature of the night.
What he got was an eternity of trouble.
Dealing with a newbie like Sam is no easy task, but things get even more crazy when Phoebe Reynolds—a woman who claims to be Nina’s sister—storms into the office and causes a catfight that ends when Phoebe is accidently bitten by Sam’s recently formed fangs. Now, the OOPS girls have two fledgling vamps on their hands, and their powers—and the attraction building between them—are unlike anything they’ve seen before…

The girls are back this time with a strange vampire dropped on the doorsteps of the OOPs office. Other than having one crazy work party Sam wakes up in a dress after a one night stand to find out he's a vampire. As if that's not enough one of the councilors sisters just so happens to show up and he bites her butt. Now a stranger Phoebe is a vampire thanks to an accident but that's not all they aren't like any of the vampires in the area.
As the group deals with the surprise new vampires Nina has her own issues with her sister who she didn't know existed and is now a vampire showing up. While Phoebe didn't expect her sister to welcome her she hoped that they would have a chance to talk. As they learn that the vampire who made Sam mysteriously dies they start to investigate the company he's investigating learning that they may just be the ones who are making the vampire and time is running out.
I love that the prior girls keep showing up in each new book but we do have a couple that takes center stage. The chemistry between Sam and Phoebe is hot but at first she thinks he's in drag lol. It's a good thing that changes and they pair don't have to deny the attraction between them. Only Sam has a secret that may change everything that is if they make it out alive.
I've been a huge fan of the Accidental Friends series each book just keeps getting better and has new supernatural beings plus we get the prior characters intertwined. The urban fantasy concept is one of my favorite add in a happy ever after and a little humor it all just works out perfectly. I really enjoyed the twist on the vampires in Accidentally Dead, Again it jut works great. The characters are well developed and easy to connect with I just adore all the girls and the guys have all redeemed themselves. One of my favorite series each novel is captivating hard to put down and a beautifully written happy ever after. Highly recommend.
So, again I didn't like this book quite as much as the others I've read (along with #5). Maybe it's because I'm reading all of them together and they do become somewhat repetitive?
One thing I do love is the familiarity I have with the characters by now. Overall, Nina is my favorite, maybe because I met her first when I started with book 2, only because of a challenge. I love it when I keep seeing the same characters and I feel like I know them.
One of the funniest scenes in this one is when someone gets bitten on their butt. LOL Okay, I'm sorry, but I found that hilarious. At this point, though, the books are becoming more predictable. I know something is going to accidentally happen to someone that makes that person change into something very different. That being said, I still like the series and this book actually had a bit of a switch up on its predictability.
I really liked this one I lot. It was fun that it started out seeming like the typical goofy paranormal romance, just another book in the series with the familiar friends bickering and lots of silliness. But then there are twists. Several good twists, and layers. For one thing, there was Phoebe, who wasn't the fluffy Barbie she appeared to be. She had substance and steel, a temper and a lot of passion. And a big secret of her own. And I really liked the idea of how Phoebe and Same were actually accidentally turned, the mystery that they had to investigate, and the jeopardy that they were in. And then there was the reveal about Sam and the layers that that added to the story. And then a few more twists got thrown in at the end for good measure. As usual, Dakota's light fluffy book wasn't just a silly story, it had a lot of stuff going on to keep things interesting during the laughs and adventures, and tons of heart and soul. She's just a smart chick, she knows exactly what she's doing and she does it really well and it's always a pleasure to watch her stories unfold.
I also loved that she thanked her Facebook friends and Tweeps in her dedication. And I enjoyed all of the soap opera references and TV references, it's definitely all in good fun. Anyone who does follow her on Twitter or FB knows that she really does enjoy silly TV and isn't mean spirited about it at all. I don't think she's mean spirited about anything except people who are, in fact, mean spirited, like evil ex-husbands (see the ex-Trophy Wives books) or people who are cruel to animals. And if you don't follow her, I highly recommend it, she's just a lot of fun. Her commentary about shows I don't even watch (Housewives!) is hilarious and she's just a lovely, fun person.
This one would have been better for me had abrasive Nina not been so front and center. I have grown tired of her and how she swears worse than a sailor and hates everything.
I did like both Sam and Phoebe and found it interesting that they both were hiding big things. I laughed with how Sam made Phoebe a vampire, I would hate to admit how it happened had it been me.
I think the best part of the book was the epilogue. It showed how everyone in the series is just one big family.
I have loved the other books in the series, but I really couldn't get into this one. I figured I needed to read to meet/get-to-know the new characters so that I could continue following along, but it was painful.
I have adored every Dakota Cassidy book until this one. Accidentally Dead,Again seemd forced. It did not flow like her previous work. I wouldn't reccommend this book except to die hard fans. Soory,Dakota! Love ya but this was a bomb.
Frustrated. Cassidy got sloppy in this one and I can't tell if it was just REALLY poor editing, if she was wanting to finish the series and was told no, or if this is the downward decline that happens when you try to make a series last longer than it should. Some mixed up details, some repeated thoughts/conversations that clearly were not meant to be repeated. Sentences that are cut off/were on a different tangent/meant to be expounded but then left hanging. As usual, the story was out-there paranormal and dramatic and her romance scenes keep their usual flare, if lacking creatively now. But the writing itself was poor and the pace, while still quick in the book itself, felt so much slower. I struggled many times to keep reading. Officially ending my time with the OOPS brigade.
I prefer this one over some of the others because it incorporates themes that resonate with me. The FMC has early-onset Alzheimer's, and while I don't have that, I watched my father deteriorate from Alzheimer's in the final years of his life.
The rest of the story revolves around Nina learning she has more family than she thought, and the problem with vampires dying off mysteriously. The search for the cure and all the hijinks that come along with it, along with Nina, Marty & Wanda, and more.
For the love of all that's holy, no one ever refers to the FBI as The Agency! The Bureau, yes, but the agency? Never. That the CIA, Dakota! Get them straight because it matters. Now, aside from the ridiculous mix up between FBI and CIA, this book continues Cassidy's formula of funny, quirky romance arising between suddenly paranormal characters in the midst of a mystery as to how they got there. It works, but the constant mislabeling really killed things for me.
The paranormal girls are back again!!. The Girls go to investigate were some New Vampires are comming from and why they are dying very fast. The story was good and funny like the other books, but very much the same as the rest of the series. I have to say it took me a little longer to finish this one maybe because is very repetitive 🤷♀️. The ending was very nice!!. I'm going to read the next one but I have decided to take a small break and read other stuff first.
I found this on the dollar rack. This was fun and very much like a soap opera of the vampire variety. Very fast paced but the overload of cliches really dimmed the book.
There's nothing I can say that I haven't already said about this series. It's one of my favorites, and this book was a great addition to it. I laughed often and got teary-eyed a few times at the end. I'm a happy reader right now. :)
The story has an action packed storyline with an engaging cast of characters and evil doers. Along with almost impossible solutions to their predicaments. Yet it all works!
Managed ONE chapter before I decided to tape up the 50 cent copy I'd just been given and put it down. I will send it to my SIL in the hopes that she will enjoy it more than I did as this is closer to her genre than mine.
Predictable, as ever, with similar plot lines as the other books in the series. Cozy read with fun characters, there was less of the obnoxious Nina crap after the initial opening... she was toned down a lot. I hope it stays that way.
Made it one chapter in and just couldn't keep going. I'm sure that, overall, it's just as fun as the previous five but DEAR GOD I'm so tired of reading the original 3 bickering incessantly and slowing down the entire story to have a verbal catfight.
I enjoyed this one until it got to about 60%, I got annoyed at the silly choices that the main female character made. And I feel there is just to much waffling on that is unnecessary and just book filler, it made me start to lose interest.
I really enjoy Dakota Cassidy's books! They are so entertaining. I listen to audible versions while I am out on the road. I find myself making the facial expressions being described by the narrator LOL!!
This is by far the best book in the series. The redundant formula used in all of the previous books was finally altered. The only things keeping this from a 4 star rating are the constant long soap opera references and, as usual, the constant annoying bickering.
Excellent paranormal romance. You will love the entire gang that gets bigger with each passing book. This one I couldn’t believe the surprise villains at the end. I never would have guessed it. Enjoy
Another fun outing with our group of OOPS ladies. I found that I didn't like Nina's sister Pheobe as much as some of the other previous characters. I liked that it was two-for-one on oops, but it was still good.
This one definitely kept me interested. The epilogue was a little lame but the story itself was pretty good although there were some Goofs at the end that made me go huh. This series is getting better.
