At one time Jonavon Calhoun was all of those things but now everything was a mess. His life-long friendship with Elara and Kaelyn was in shambles along with his team. Things had gone downhill so fast he hadn’t realize it until it was to late. But there was no one else to blame but himself.
Trust was the easiest thing to give and the hardest thing to repair once it’s broken. It was up to him to fix his team but how do you fix something when you are guilty of the same actions?
Jonavon’s desire for redemption is met with world changing revelations as an alternate world spills out at his feet. Will he waver or stand strong when a life and another world are on the line?
The ground may shake, its balance altered but through it all earth never falters.
*I received a free advanced copy of this book from the author for my honest review.*
I really enjoyed this short story. I love how there’s the main series, and then there’s this smaller story interwoven into the world. It gives a better understanding of the different elements, creatures, and the villain they’re all facing.
This book was a very quick and easy read. It was fun jumping back into this world I’ve come to love so much. The overall story idea is so original and fantastic. I’ve been very lucky to have become a beta reader for Lela, so every time she messages me about a new book I get super excited. This one did not disappoint.
I’m not usually a fan of novellas, but these feel like their own series. It’s its own story, which connects to the others through the magical world of Gaai. This book is full of magic, romance and, of course, a lot of sarcasm. I love Lela’s balance between serious moments and humor. The references to pop culture always make me happy, too.
Jonavon and Clea were great. All the characters in these books are so loveable and real. There’s something relatable to each of them, and it’s easy to get attached. In fact, my favorite character changes with each book pretty much. Okay, just kidding, it’s still a tie between Thomas and Velkan. The latter of which makes an appearance in this book!
If you enjoy fantasy, definitely give this series a try. (They’re free on Kindle Unlimited right now!) It’s fun and very entertaining. I can’t wait to see what the twins are up to in the next book!
Child of Earth is an amazing story that picks up right where Child of Water left off. We learn more from Jonavan about his feelings and what exactly happened and we get to meet Clea, a person who will change his life forever. The characters are all amazing and I want to keep reading about them. This book is a must read
Child of Earth by Lela Grayce is a beautifully written addition to the Luna Medallion series, and a story I highly recommend. Even though this is a short story, nothing is lacking from the storyline. The interchanging POV’s from different worlds and characters (Clea and Jonavan) flows perfectly. I can wait to read more from this world.
I loved Jonavan /Clea story. This picks up where Child of Water left off. Clea is such a strong female who would do anything to protect those she loves. Jonavan is trying to earn the trust back of his two childhood friends. He chose to side with his " new friends" and not believe Elara and Kaelyn. I can not wait to read the next one. Will Kaul, Laddy, and Aynin be in that one too?
Perfectly smooth flow from Child of Water into this book. This book is full of just as much intense action and excitement, if not a little more, as Lela's other books in this series. So many well written characters and surprises in each of her books makes it nearly impossible to choose a favorite. Can't wait for the next book to see what's next!
This sequel to Child of Water compliments Aerion and Scylla great!! This world that Lela has created meshes together greatly and it just makes me want to read the next one even more!! A must read for the fan of this world!!
What a great short story. I loved the fact that it picks right back up where child of water ends. I truly loved jonavons story. The mysteriousness of him finding out more about himself. Lots of action and humor too boot. All around just great. Great job Lela
What a great addition to this series! I love getting more information on the characters in stories. This fills in some gaps I didn't even realize were there! Another wonderful story by a talented author!! Now, time to wait for another one.... 😁
Child Of Earth is an Enchanting N exciting fantasy full of adventure magic, romance N danger! Lela Grayce is an absolute must read Author her stories are always beautiful, unique N captivating! This was an awesome edition to The Lunar Medallion series!
Child of Earth starts exactly where Child of Water left off. This story is about Jonovan who feels like he has let everyone down. He grows throughout the story and becomes an amazing character who shows his loyalty through actions. Definitely an amazing read and can't wait to see what happens next.
A must read for fans of fantasy and magical worlds. Child of Earth is an excellent edition to this series picking up where Child of Water left off. I am still in awe of Lela Grayce's world building. One of my favorite series.
I love the continuation of the story from the first book. It picks right up where the other left off. The development of the characters continue making for a great story. I love unusual characters, my new one being kelpies! Can't wait for the next book!
Hut, Hut, Score! I Floved this book! I need more Jonavan, PLEASE. And ALWAYS need more of a special character that makes an unexpected appearance. You have to read to find out who!
Another great installment in the series! I love these novellas and their ability to deliver a powerful story (and teasers) in a short amount of time. I appreciated Jonavan’s acceptance of his mistakes and the theme of second chances and making amends. While the story focuses on Jonavan and his struggle for redemption, there are several character cameos that had me super excited! This is a moving story with a strong message that will leave you hungry for more from this world!
