I had no idea that Malachi is so embedded with honor-shame language. This paraphrase of Malachi features this underlying cultural dynamic and helps me to see how God through the prophet used shame to reprove his people. This booklet is part of a series of social-cultural expositions, not translations, of books of the Bible. This one is exceptional.

Really intense.

The shame and honor was so strong here. It's God's will to always have us triumph in honor while Jesus takes the shame.
