Kiltie Jackson

Kiltie Jackson spent her childhood years growing up in Scotland. Most of these early years were spent in and around Glasgow although for a short period of time, she wreaked havoc at a boarding school in the Highlands.

By the age of seventeen, she had her own flat which she shared with a couple of cats for a few years while working as a waitress in a cocktail bar (she’s sure there’s a song in there somewhere!) and serving customers in a fashionable clothing outlet before moving down to London to chalk up a plethora of experience which is now finding its way into her writing.

Once she’d wrung the last bit of fun out of the smoky capital, she moved up to the Midlands and now lives in Staffordshire with one grumpy husband and another six feisty felines.

Her little home is known as Moggy Towers even though, despite having plenty of moggies, there are no towers! The cats kindly allow her and Mr Mogs to share their home as long as the mortgage continues to be paid.

Since the age of three, Kiltie has been an avid reader although it was many years later before she decided to put pen to paper – or fingers to keyboard – to begin giving life to the stories in her head. Her debut novel was released in September 2017 and her fourth book was a US Amazon bestseller in Time Travel Romance.

Kiltie loves to write fiery and feisty female characters and puts the blame for this firmly on the doorsteps of Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables and George Kirrin from The Famous Five.

When asked what her best memories are, Kiltie will tell you:

1. Queuing up overnight outside the Glasgow Apollo to buy her Live-Aid ticket.

2. Being at Live-Aid.

3. Winning an MTV competition to meet Bon Jovi in Sweden.

(Although, if Mr Mogs is in earshot, the latter is changed to her wedding day.)

Her main motto in life used to be “Old enough to know better, young enough not to care!” but that has since been replaced with “Too many stories, can't type fast enough!”

All books are available in ebook & paperback through Amazon.

Ohhhh I love the Lovestyle series, the first 2 were fab and this is more of the same, new characters mix with some we recognise ( this book can easily be read as a stand alone or of course part of the series ) and all in an modern romance laced with the authors very unique humour plus ‘insight on humans’ and all tied up in a big colourful bow!
It all starts with Jenny and a very unusual bus ride which leaves her thrown off a bus and stranded with a teenage girl and at the mercy of Jeff, who comes to her rescue, a chain of events then happens that includes secrets and shocks and surprises but alongside this a new shop idea for Jenny, moving home, a beautiful ideal village and the usual mayhem, laughs, tears and joy that are all part and parcel of this authors books
From spinsters with a ‘ to do list’ ( they have a different name for it 😃 ) to Hilda from the haberdashery all the characters are immediately in your mind, even the baddies!
The story comes full circle and ends with a.....well Im not saying as will ruin it but there is a twist and its good
As I said I love this series and this book and the authors writing, scene setting and ability to tell a really good tale which makes you fall in love with the characters as much as they are with each other
Bring on Book 4!

Fan-flipping-tastic!

Where to start? The third title in Jackson's 'Lovestyle' series packs a mighty punch! Fireworks, heartache, love & the power of family and friends fuse effortlessly into a simply unputdownable read. Here's an indie author who has earned her place as one of the best-loved contemporary romance writers, with good reason. Every character is so well depicted, and the plot is brimming with clever and unexpected twists and turns, leaving the reader - at times - gobsmacked. The perfect cosy armchair read, the perfect beach read, the perfect anywhere read! I loved it.

I was counting down to the release of this book, the third book in the Lovestyle series as I adored the first two books hugely. It was most definitely worth all the anticipation! It appeared on my kindle at midnight, and I couldn’t resist reading a few pages, until I looked up and realised it was one o’clock in the morning, I had been so enthralled by the book that I hadn’t realised I had been reading for that long! I dragged myself away for a few hours sleep reluctantly!
Kiltie writes brilliant characters, this book was filled with some absolute crackers! I love Jeff, I was so pleased to see him featured in this book, as I had warmed to him in the previous two books. It was also great to get to know Jenny better too, I thought they make a fabulous combination. I loved catching up with all the characters from the previous books, it’s like catching up with old friends.
I loved the surprises that cropped up throughout the book, on a couple of occasions I gasped out loud even! I laughed too at the antics of some of the older ones, and felt sad for some of the characters when their emotional pasts were revealed. As always a rollercoaster ride that keeps me entertained and emotionally involved from the start to the end, and for many days later, as I endeavour to recover from my book hangover!
(Book) Three is most definitely the magic number!

And she's done it again!! Another fantastic book in the Lovestyle series. It's funny, exciting, shocking and overly enjoyable from start to finish. I am a big fan of Kilties books and this has made me love them even more. Sometimes books should be left alone as the sequels don't always live up to the first. However I knew Kiltie would not disappoint! Waiting to get my hands on it was a killer but it was worth the wait!

As expected the story was a rollercoaster of emotions. At times my eyes were welling up and my heart broke for the characters. I lost count how many times I laughed out loud. Sadie was by far the funniest and my favourite character in this one. Her young mindset was both funny and heart-warming.
It was wonderful to see some of the characters from previous books and see how their lives are now. I love how they fit into the story so well but the main focus is still on Jenny and Jeff. With such loved characters making an appearance I'm sure that was a challenge.
Everything, from the characters to the locations, are described so well I felt like I was part of their adventure. It also made it so easy to fall in love with the characters. There was only one character I didn't like due to their horrible personality but I think having a character like that really adds to the story and makes it more believable.

I would give this book more than five stars if I could. I cannot recommend this (or any Lovestyles) enough. Whilst this one can be read as a standalone I would definitely suggest reading them all. You will be missing out if you don't!

I don't read too much of this genre but this one I absolutely loved!
It is the third in a series and I haven't read the other two but I plan to remedy that soon.
Loved the characters, loved the energy and just about everything in the story.
A fresh read for me.

Opening the front cover of one of Kiltie’s books feels like coming home after a long trip. Yes, you may have enjoyed the trip, but nothing quite beats being back in the welcoming arms of the familiar and the warm glow that Kiltie’s writing style generates.

As with the previous Lovestyle books, this reads perfectly well as a standalone, but I heartily recommend starting at the beginning, because you will see familiar faces popping up along the way, and I feel it’s nice to get to know them in the right order.

Reading about Jenny, and her secret bookshop dream, I felt instantly drawn to her. The way she describes her ideal bookshop, it felt like Kiltie had looked inside my head and discovered my own long held ambition. As the dream began to look as though it might become a reality, I felt as excited for Jenny as I would have if it was me doing it, and I felt lifted by the enthusiasm of each of the characters involved.

Once again Kiltie has created a cast of characters who feel more like family than fiction – the kind of family that anyone would long to be welcomed into. With the exception of one (who will remain nameless for you to discover) I fell in love with each and every one of them.

An Incidental Lovestyle is a book that made me laugh and cry in equal measure. I must have been driving one poor friend mad as I kept messaging her throughout the book telling her that she just absolutely had to read this book. It is brilliant in its story-telling and slow uncovering of long held secrets, and the ending is just perfect beyond words.

Without saying too much, there is mention of a possible future renovation project involving a windmill – Kiltie, if you should happen to read this review, please, please make this the subject of a future book!!!

I read and reviewed the first in this series – A Rock 'n' Roll Lovestyle – almost a year ago (eek!), and described it as 'a truly delightful read.' Somehow, I managed to miss out on the second one, but rest assured it will be added to my Kindle very soon.
What can I say? Only that I adore the author's writing, and the warmth she brings to her stories. Reading her books is akin to plunging into a warm bath of soothing bubbles, reluctant to move even as the water turns cold.
I loved the cast of characters, and how their lives intertwine, often in ways I didn't see coming! And the attention to detail regarding the setting up of a new business was captivating and wholly authentic.
I had a particular soft spot for two ladies of a certain age, and their desire to tick off some hair-raising adventures on a bucket list. Except, they didn't quite call it that …
I won't go on about the plot, simply because it's packed with glorious adventures, romance and humour and you really need to buy a copy to discover it yourself.
My thanks to the author and TBC (The Book Club) for an ARC. All opinions are my own.

This book was recommended to me by a number of friends, so naturally I had to give it a read. I loved the blurb and even more so the gorgeous cover.

It was a pleasure of a read, loved the storyline, very entertaining throughout. I enjoyed getting to know the characters especially Jenny and Jeff, loved seeing their story play out. All the characters were very well written and thought out, some of them had such great personalities that made them come alive in the book.

What did surprise me about the storyline in this book, is that there were a number of twists and some shocking revelations, all of which made for a thrilling entertaining and enjoyable story from start to finish.

I read book 3 without having read books 1 or 2. In hindsight I wish I had read the books in series order, purely because there are little things in book 3 that aren't clearly explained because they've already been referenced in the books before.  So if you are able to read the books in order then I highly recommend that you do.

Yet another lovely love story, this time featuring Jeff Rowland, owner of the art gallery that Elsa in the last book, goes to work in. I love how these books are all connected in that the characters are all connected and involved with each other from each book and yet they are still satisfyingly romantic

As a sucker for villages, I loved how the author has developed the village that Suki and Pete goes to live in and the wonderful building that Jeff and Jenny find to start their business in., not to mention the Victorian summer and Christmas fetes. I love these books, each one I read is like revisiting old friends and I find myself neglecting my own writing in order to continue reading these. I thought for a while the storyline was going to be predictable, but there was a surprising twist that I didn’t see coming any more than the characters did! When I read crime novels, I usually work out who the killer is long before the book tells us. There are no murders in these books of course and I love the unusual twists that the author comes up with to keep the stories alive.

Book three in the Lovestyle series focuses, as we've come to expect from Jackson, on a character we've met before. This time Jeff Rowland, who popped up at the end of book one and was a regular feature in book two, takes centre stage, alongside some new characters and of course some old favourites are among the supporting cast. Something that I love about all Jackson's books is the way she is able to weave believable friendships and relationships between characters and one of my favourite pairings in this book was Sadie, who we've met before, and Bernie, who we haven't. I aspire to be like them both before I reach my dotage! Once again managing to meld moments of joy, humour and heartbreak, this was a fun read and I really liked the way it ended. I look forward to the release of book four.

A book about a librarian with cats who wants to set up a bookshop - what's not to like?
I was a little confused at first with the switch between the prologue and the main book, but the link was soon made and then we were off on a joyride.
This book really is a great feel-good story, ideal for holiday reading or when you just want to be convinced the world is a better place.
The characters jumped off the page, and I loved the idea of the cabookaria. Another idea that was great was the arc of the two more mature ladies and their bucket list - or not!
There were a few coincidences that were a little stretch to the imagination, but nothing that I wasn't willing to accept in return for such an entertaining story. I found myself staying up late for just one more chapter - and that doesn't happen often!

Well, here we are, back with some old friends again. Honestly, Kiltie's characters are so honest and real feeling that you get the sense you're at a reunion. This is an author who gets better and better with each book, and the first two were already near perfection. She writes incredibly moving books, some moments and characters may seen slightly larger than life, but in the end they are all just human like the rest of us. This new offering is no different, I laughed, cried, screamed, yelled obcenities, sighed, and squealed with delight! Incidental combines down to Earth issues of modern life with a touch of fairy tale dreams come true, and never let's you down one bit. In the end, all I can say is thank you to Kiltie for sharing and when is the next one?

Having read the first two books in Kiltie Jackson’s Lovestyle series, I was looking forward to reading this third installment. And once again, Kiltie has written a fantastic story. Although this was a love story, as in the main protagonists get together, it was also a story about overcoming past traumas and learning to love yourself and accept that you are worthy of not only giving love but also receiving it.
It was nice to catch up with Jenny and Jeff, who were previously featured, and learn a bit more about their backgrounds.
There were certainly a few watery eye moments as well as some funny scenes thrown into the mix.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good back story and not just a fluffy boy meets girl and falls in love type of book.

Well Kiltie has yet again had my romantics heart in her hand yet again!

This time following the trials and tribulation of Jenny and Jeff. Set once again in the idyllic Cotswolds under the watchful eye of Sukie and Pete.

It's such a pleasure to follow how the story of love with it's hiccups along the way unfolds with some dramas thrown into the mix for good measure.

Kiltie has such a marvellous way with her story telling, that you just have to give up on food, sleep and your everyday life just to keep turning those pages to see where she takes you with the characters and once again does not disappoint.

Cannot wait for my next encounter with book 4 of the Lovestyle series!

I received a copy of this book from TBC Reviewers request- Thank you
This is book 3 in the series and I din;t realise there were previous books until I was more than half way through it, so it works well as a stand alone novel I’m sure it’s even better when read in order (which I will do)
I absolutely loved the writing style of Kiltie she really creates amazing characters and situations in the pages of her novels. I found myself laughing hysterically at parts of the book and at others there was a tear in my eye.
A recommendation for anyone who wants to escape reality for a couple of hours.

This is the first I've read in the Lovestyle series but won't be the last. Enjoyed the well-drawn, varied characters and their tangled lives, especially kind-hearted Jenny who so deserves to find true love and brave Amber, who is 'mother' to her younger sister. Lots of fun amid sad stories make for a rollercoaster of emotions that will keep you reading 'just one more chapter'. As long as you can take a few incredible coincidences with a pinch of salt, it's a good, light summer read.

I don't often read this type of book unless it's the The Lovestyle series written by Kiltie Jackson!

This is a wonderful story that will make laugh, cry, cheer for the characters and keep you reading past your bedtime to find out what happens. The characters are so well written that by the end of the book you will feel as if you have several new friends.

I highly recommend this book, as well as the first two in the Lovestyle series. I can't wait book number four!

I have been loving this series and it’s quirky characters. This book features Jeff and Jenny and their attraction for each other which soon turned to love. It was great catching up with old friends from previous books and the new additions of Amber, Saffy and Samantha only added to my enjoyment of this book, for the fun element we had Bernie and Sadie and they rock!

Wow!
I don’t often read this genre as I said in my previous review for an Artisan Lovestyle but I can see myself converting for the Lovestyle series!

I found myself rooting for all the characters, who, feel like members of my family and close friends!

The storyline was beautiful, experiencing the main characters lives forming as friends was written so well that you just feel like your there... living in the little village, with the beautiful Victorian inspired buildings. I could imagine the setting so vividly in my mind.

I can’t wait for book four so really hope the author hurry and gets it written! In book four... I have my hopes on a beautiful building being erected!

This is the third by Kiltie and as usual I have read them in the wrong order. It's a heartfelt story of friendship and second chances. It's nice to be reacquainted with some of the characters from Rock n Roll lifestyle and the introduction of some new ones that have an effect in the lives of everyone in the book.

This is the third novel in the Lovestyle series. As with the others, it can be read as a standalone but knowing the characters which pop in from the previous books adds depth to the story so I recommend reading the others if you have the time.
This was a joy to read; it has many elements I love – bookshops, mystery, romance, Christmas and cake bundled together in Kiltie Jackson’s unique voice. I could relate to Jenny as she follows her dreams but for me the star of the book was Sadie. The sharp, witty foul mouthed septuagenarian brought many smiles. I plan to be like her when I am older.

The more I discovered about Jenny and others, the more I enjoyed the book and the atmospheric building, developing relationships and unpredictable twists and secrets kept me reading long after bedtime. It was worth the wait and I am now looking forward to the next one.
