Georgette LaCombe fell for her Uncle Beau’s best friend as an awkward pre-teen when he rescued her from drowning during a family vacation. A recent law school grad, she’s back in King’s Harbor, with a crazy job description that’s going to just ruin her designer heels. Nolan Rivers is fighting to save the family construction business, and the resort project on an uninhabited island will determine its survival or bankruptcy. He’s obtained every possible permit when a strangely familiar woman turns up shackled to his front loader, spouting some nonsense about an endangered species. As Jett and Nolan fight their mutual attraction, she uncovers evidence that something more sinister is afoot than merely saving the Ram’s Head Lady’s Slipper. And that whoever is behind it—maybe her own brother—will stop at nothing to win. AUTHOR'S On the Level is a contemporary romantic suspense novel set on an island off Maine's central coast. It's a "sensual romance" with sexual situations between the characters, but very few graphic descriptions. The book contains a limited amount of light profanity. Fans of Brenda Novak or Robyn Carr might enjoy the King's Harbor Series.
I can’t remember a time when stories weren’t filling my head. This probably explains why my desk was often in the front of the classroom, even though I was typically the tallest kid.
While most of my career was spent as a corporate communications consultant, the jobs I didn’t hold as long provide the seeds for my fertile imagination. I've been a bartender, cocktail waitress, FM disc jockey, talent agent, door-to-door magazine salesperson (this lasted an entire day), TV and radio news reporter, and government analyst. Most of these jobs actually provided a paycheck.
One of my favorite summers was spent waitressing at a resort on Mount Desert Island, Maine, where fictional King’s Harbor is located. The island, with its beautiful Acadia National Park, holds a special place in my heart, and I encourage you to visit and make your own memories there!
I've travelled to nine countries, four Canadian provinces, and every state in the USA but Mississippi (although I plan to rectify that soon). I've been fortunate to raise two amazing children, and currently live with two dogs and an assortment of woodland creatures in a paradise off the coast of Washington state.
My daydreams have always featured smart and resilient women and the strong and noble men who are worthy of them. I believe each of us deserves a happily-ever-after, even if it’s just between the pages of a book.
Overall I liked this book. When Georgette (Jett) was younger she had a crush on her uncle's best friend. Now she is older and back in town. The problem is there is a lawsuit in action. This puts a damper on things with them. However, Jett finds evidence that starts to show things aren't what they seem. Thankfully in the end they overcome everything and get their happy ending.
When it rains it pours for Nolan and Georgette On The Level (King’s Harbor Series Book Three) by Madeline Olsen is a heartbreaking tale of woe that nearly ends in utter disaster. I found this book, it’s plot and characters very intriguing and captivating that had me hooked from the beginning. Georgette is a small but mighty woman. She is fierce and loyal to a fault. Nolan is the alpha, brooding and bitter, but unable to stop thinking about, wanting and needing Georgette. In addition to their relationship developments, these two go through quite the ordeal that spans throughout their families and even places them both in serious danger. Overall, this emotional roller coaster is a ride worth taking as Nolan and Georgette discover a long time coming true love for a much deserved HEA. I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
I enjoyed this book. I loved seeing the connection between Jett and Nolan. There’s something so unbelievably sweet about the two of them together; overcoming all the obstacles that keep getting put in their paths. The off-the-wall mystery just didn’t quite work for me. In some ways it was too convoluted while also being too simple all at the same time. I wasn’t completely able to suspend my disbelief for long enough that I could comprehend how everyone involved missed the obvious while the villain was both so smart and so stupid. The ending is perfectly charming, and I think I’ve gone and fallen in love with all these characters. I’m going to have to go back and read the books that came before it as well as investigating what comes next. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Hidden Gems Books.
Are they too late? When Georgette arrives on the island where she had spent her summers as a youth, little does she know what’s in store for her. There to handle a legal matter against Nolan, her high school crush. A mutual attraction begins that grows stronger when they face the suddenly dangerous situation together. This book was so good I’m going to go back and read the first two books in the series, and then more works by Ms. Olson. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I received a free ARC of this novel via Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review. My opinion is my own.
This is the wrap up of a really good small town series. It is not really a standalone because there is a lot of crossover between the characters. It was actually pretty nice to see what the old characters were up to as well. Nolan is the older man she never got over. Georgette has had a crush on him since she was young. Can Nolan get over feeling like it is wrong to want her? Wait and see!
This was a great book with both love and intrigue. The love of a great man and the chance to have a life you want for your self and not one that your father was dictating to you about. The chance to put your own ideas to work for what you want to do. The chance to be with who you want and the chance to save the love of your life from a crazy man. This was a free book and one I loved reading. This is my review and mine alone. I would recommend it to anyone who like to read mixed stories that leave little to think about. Norma Gorrill
Great read. Story got me from the start, that I finished in one setting. Jett shows up on the island she spent her summers to handle a legal matter against the guy she's had a crush on since she was 12. Unfortunately, things don't go as planned & they both get caught up in a mystery involving of all things, a flower! Story flowed smoothly with few reading errors. Sweet romance with a bit of intrigue.
I really like the way Madeline Olson tells a story and the characters she creates. I'll gladly read every story Madeline writes. It was very easy to like Nolan and Jett, two good hearts who deserved their HEA and overcome all the hurdles thrown in their way. I have no trouble recommending this story.
Georgette and nolan go way back when she had a crush on him while in high school now all grown up and they are on opposite sides of this lawsuit but when things don't make sense does georgette do what's right or follow her boss. And can their attractions get through it all.
I received this book from Hidden Gems for my honest review.
I really wanted to get into this book, but I felt like the characters fell really flat. Also I was confused through all of the book on who was talking. I felt like this book needed more background and could not keep track of what was going on through it.
