"A fun, sweet romantic comedy set in the American South, perfect for fans of "Sweet Home Alabama". Rated a Must Read and "FIVE STARS" by Rose Mannering at Reedsy Discovery.
Sunshine Blackwell has never been one to care to break rules or fight for what she wants. Her fiery personality has been known to get her in trouble a time or two (or five). This time, her drive and desires are pushing her to carve out something for herself apart from her family. Sunshine’s well-intentioned plans may be blown to hell and back when her life-long friend Drake decides he may want everything she has…including her heart.
Drake Caldwell wants what Drake wants, but when he out bids Sunshine on a bull, he puts events into motion that ignite a heated argument between the pair. As Drake attempts to wipe the slate clean with Sunshine, the waters get more than a little muddied for him. He has known Sunshine her entire life and doesn’t want to deal with her crazy ass - or is it her ass that is driving him crazy?
Such a charming story! I loved the southern tint on each page. All of the main character’s sassy phrases (“screw a goose!”) took me back to my southern roots and the details and writing style made me feel like I was talking to an old friend.
My favorite funny moment was when Sunshine and her grandmother both greeted young (apparently very attractive) Reece in the same manner-I laughed out loud. These characters are so well developed and they feel like people I’ve known my whole life.
This book was so light-hearted, funny, and sweet. This is the perfect vacation book. Love love loved it and looking forward to reading the next one!
