Pressured by two bullies at school, Isandro takes them into his father’s study in search of something he saw, something that he hopes will make the teasing stop. It’s there they find a secret room and the voice begins. It calls Isandro, pulls him into its clutches, and he discovers what the secret room really houses. It isn’t the only nightmare he faces. His parents have kept secrets from him that may cost him his very lifeblood.

I though that this was a good start to the series, the characters are described so throughout the story you get to know them more, I can tell that as the books go on in the series you'll learn more about them. The story itself is fast paced the only problem is the abrupt ending, with it being fast paced when it stops it feels like we have been cheated for more of the story , but as its a series I'm sure it will rectify that.

This was a great addition to the author's Bloodseeker series. I love how it keeps getting more and more complex with believable characters and mysterious ties between the Bloodseekers, Slayers, and witches. I particularly appreciate the originality of the various groups, how they originated, the amulets connected to the Slayers, etc. I'm usually pretty bored by vampire and zombie stories, but Elle gives them an original twist, which combined with her vivid characters, steady action, and heavy suspense makes them come alive.
Isandro is a young man coming into his own when his curiosity gets him into trouble he may not survive. Isandro discovers there is a whole lot out there he never knew about. This is an exciting introduction that will leave you wanting to know more.
Isandro is promising and enjoyable work that left me wanting to know more about the light witches and the bloodseekers. This was the first book I’ve read by Elle Klass and not the last. In addition to hidden journals volume two, I’m eager to read more of Elle Klass’s St Augustine Novellas.
Thanks to Elle Klass and LibraryThing Early Reviewers for the digital review copy and the opportunity to read this book. In exchange for the ebook, I was asked for a review; my review is honest, unbiased, and voluntary.
ok , I loved this book , it was definitely a real good page turner , I loved the characters and the stories behind each of them , what I didn't like was that the end of the book , you literally left hanging as its like you are just cut off in mid flow of reading the book , Now I suppose its just like watching a series , and then its left you with a cliff hanger for 6 to 9 months before next series , so I suppose its ok , then ,... as you are already glued to the series , so you will definitely wait till the next series starts , so you will do the same with a book lol … anyway back to the book , the idea behind the story was what kept me reading , I enjoyed the characters a lot more after you get to know them through the first 50 pages . I did find it a bit confusing later in the book , as you seem to get to know other characters which I found not sure of who the story was about , as it moved pretty fast , but I may have to re read again , .. as I kind of rushed through , but I did finish the book , and still felt like I would like to read the next book in the series for sure .
When is a door brings to bullies and his father study to show them a cool sword, he doesn’t know what to do this sort is gone. Inadvertently one of the bullies touches the bookshelf in a way that causes it to open and they find a secret room. They were all too scared to go in and good thing they didn’t because Isadores father was looking for him. They quickly Shut the shelf and act as if all is well. Little does Isidore know this room will change everything he knows and expose secrets he didn’t even know existed.
I really enjoyed this book. Even though it was the middle graders and I am an adult I thought it was cute and it held my interest. Hi to wanted to know what was in the secret room. I highly recommend this book and think it would be interesting two middle graders and grammar school children. I got this book from book sirens and exchange for an honest review and this is my honest review really enjoyed it.
Isandro, whilst a short read, was really entertaining and a great start to a series. I found myself hooked on the mystery of it all and whilst it involves witches and vampires, it’s done in an original and creative way. Quite quickly I could picture the locations and got to know the characters. My only criticism is that I felt it was a bit rushed near the end – it could easily have been a longer book with more time taken in the final chapters. I will definitely be checking out the other books by Elle Klass and would recommend this as a great taster to see if you like her style.
*I received a complimentary copy of the e-book from BookSirens and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
This story had so much promise. I really liked the beginning, and the developing relationships. Just as it was getting good, it ended. The story would benefit from some heavy editing as some of the sentences are awkward. The story should also be expanded! I understand that it was meant to accompany a series, but it did not stand alone as a story. There were a lot of things that were skimmed over and I didn’t understand.
The author should have spent as much time expanding the later half of the story as they did on the first half. Overall, a pleasant read, but I was definitely left wanting more.

I think this is an interesting story that has the potential to be something more. It had more of a supernatural vibe than a spooky one but I did still enjoy it. I do feel that the book could do with a little more editing as some of the sentence structure was kind of clunky and confusing; as a result, it took me out of the story a bit.
I liked the ending, as it left it open ended for more.
I would have liked a more clear cut explanation of what time period this book takes place in as I was confused about that part.
Other than that, I feel this was a promising start.
The introduction to the work was stilted and confusing - it needs to be reworked or given a better explanation. The story doesn't indicate the date it is set in until the end of the second chapter, which left me unsure of the setting until that point. The characters were well-written and but the ending felt rushed. There were also many awkward sentences throughout the work, which would benefit from editing. Overall it was a good read but could use some editing. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
