Owen Shaw and his “brothers” lost everything, their entire existence erased. Science had robbed him and all the Lost Boys of their memories and their past, but not their future. Hunted by every intelligence agency in the world, they are focused on two goals: find a cure for what was done to them and ensure that the technology that ruined their lives doesn’t get out into the world. Rebecca Walsh might be the key to achieving both. Owen has been studying her closely, living in her building, and he cannot resolve how such a beautiful, giving woman could have helped design the evil process that destroyed his past.

Dr. Rebecca Walsh has dedicated her life to researching the secrets of the mind. Her atmospheric rise in her field was fueled by the horror of watching her mother’s agonizing journey into madness at the hands of a disease with no cure. She vowed to never rest until she finds it. But obsession takes a heavy toll, and when Owen moves into her building she realizes how much of her life she has missed out on. Owen opens her eyes to a whole new world, filled with joy, laughter, and possibly love.

Owen and Rebecca grow closer, unraveling more about each other and the mysteries surrounding her connection to Hope McDonald. As the sinister forces working against the Lost Boys descend on Toronto, secrets long buried are uncovered that could shatter the bonds holding the Lost Boys together and cost Rebecca her life.

Somehow this woman had invaded his soul and taken up all the empty spaces.

The mistress of sexy espionage strikes again! Lost and Found was one deliciously action-packed ride that was full of twists and turns and brimming with passion!

I've been looking forward to Owen's book for a long time. Owen has been a character that I've been curious about ever since Submission is Not Enough. A man that was dealt with an impossible choice; save his mother and sister by betraying his team. Unfortunately not only does he betray his team, he loses his family anyway, right along with his memory. Now driven by the need to right the wrongs that he can't remember, Owen is determined to do anything his team needs to get the job done. This is a hero that's impossible not to fall for. There's something so vulnerable and raw about him. How do you recover from making a choice that leads to the ultimate betrayal but not remember what led you there?

Rebecca is a brilliant doctor and researcher. She's dedicated her life to finding the cure to degenerative neurological diseases and their effect on memory. With the possibility of a connection to the evil Dr. McDonald, she also may hold the key to many of the answers that Ezra and his team are desperately seeking.

I'll admit, at first I was afraid I wouldn't like Rebecca. I thought she may be the stereotypical brainiac that's shy, introverted, and awkward. Yes, I know, apparently I can be judgy. But she was none of those things. Yes, she was adorably quirky, but not in the way you'd expect. This is a woman that's trying to get herself out there after a bitter divorce. She's eager to experience everything life has to offer and say yes to things one small experience at a time.

She's supposed to be just a mission to Owen, but the minute that he comes face to face with the beautiful doctor, the chemistry between them is instant. He and his team have subtly inserted themselves in her life and her building. Owen refuses to believe the lively woman could have knowingly made the drug that cost them all their memories. But nothing is ever what it seems in the word of Lexi Blake.

I devoured this book, y'all! I couldn't stop turning the pages. I was at the edge of my seat, waiting for the other shoe to drop. And as Owen and Rebecca grew closer, I was anxiously waiting for the time that she'd realize that Owen is not at all who he seems to be. I loved the two of them together and the way they seemed to bring out a certain strength in the other. They were both such multilayered characters that held so much depth. I couldn't get enough of them together.

The plot certainly begins to thicken with more revelations of Tucker's connection to Dr. McDonald, Green's ultimate plan, and other tidbits of the lost boys. I loved getting more Ari and Robert, and can't wait for their book next. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't foaming at the mouth for both Tucker and Ezra's books. As more details unravel about "Dr. Razor", my fascination with him is turning dang near rabid.

Lost and Found was everything I've come to love about Lexi's books. The woman knows how to draw the reader in, hook them and keep them riveted to the pages. She effortlessly combines espionage with action, suspense, and just a touch of BDSM to make you addicted to the series. I never thought I'd say that I love a spin-off series more than my beloved Masters and Mercenaries series, but here we are!

description You can just call me Khloe Kardashian when it comes to this author. I can't seem to quite her even though I always say enough is enough. (lol) Sigh...so where to start. This wasn't a BAD book. There have certainly been worse ones (cough NICK cough), but there wasn't anything new here either. This author has used this same plot in several of her books already. In fact, this seemed to be a regurgitated version of Liam's M&M book. It is also a plot I dislike immensely.

description

The whole lying to get close to a someone you think did something wrong by planting people in EVERY aspect of her life as friends disgusts me. Add in a hero who not only lies to get close to the heroine but then takes the relationship to a sexual level. Maybe if the truth came out BEFORE they take it there I wouldn't have as much of an issue, but it is SO skeevy to me to start a relationship, especially a D/S relationship based on lies. Considering that type of relationship is ALL about trust. I believe no one could get over a betrayal like that. I don't care how much he says "I love you" or "I am sorry." I mean, even going back to Liam's book which is one of my all-time favorite books by this author, and basically the same scenario, I STILL don't feel it was realistic that Avery got over what he did to her. And, yes, yes, I realize it is fiction, but this setup annoys me. (lol)

Last, Enough with the f-cking hooker jokes!! I seriously hope she kills off Tucker because there is NO way this guy can be redeemed into "hero" material. Not with the constant jokes and comments about how much he sleeps with prostitutes, and how he was treated for syphilis (the previous book mentions this). I don't get this author's obsession with sex workers?? Anyway...it is what it is.

Lost and Found is the second book in Lexi Blake's spin off from the Masters and Mercenaries series about the lost boys who were rescued by Taggart and McKay. These men lost everything when they had their memories wiped by a sadistic scientist and they're still trying to find out information about their pasts and exactly what happened to them. Owen may have no memory of it but he knows that he betrayed the rest of his team when trying to save his mother and sister from the scientist who held them all captive. He's been trying to make amends ever since but he worries that his brothers will never forgive him for the mistakes he made or fully trust him again, partly because he can't forgive himself.

The team is focused on trying to find a cure for their memory loss but they also want to ensure that details of the experiments conducted on them and the drugs that Hope McDonald created are destroyed so they can't be used to harm anyone else in the future. That's where Dr Rebecca Walsh comes in. Rebecca is a highly intelligent and well respected doctor who specialises in research into potential cures for Alzheimer's disease. Her research could be the key to unlocking their memories but since she worked with Hope McDonald in the past the team are unsure if she can be trusted. Now it's up to Owen and the others to get close enough to Rebecca to figure out which side she's on, and to find out exactly how much she knows about Hope's experiments.

I know some readers will be familiar with these characters from the original Masters and Mercenaries series but as someone who hasn't had a chance to read those books yet (I've been too busy catching up on Lexi's rereleases of her Bliss and Texas Sirens series!) I am still thoroughly enjoying this spin off. I'm really enjoying getting to know all of the Lost Boys and I have to say Owen might just be my new favourite. Owen is haunted by his past, he betrayed his team to save his mother and sister and they were murdered anyway so he lost the respect of his brothers and his family in one fell swoop, yet he can't remember any of it. He can't properly grieve for the family he doesn't remember and it's hard to win back the trust of the people he should be closest to when he can't even remember why he didn't trust them to help him. There is a real vulnerable side to Owen that made it impossible not to root for him to succeed in his mission.

Rebecca didn't exactly have a normal childhood, a genius who flew through school and college far faster than her peers she never spent much time with children her own age and was always focused on her studies instead. When her mother became sick she put everything on hold to help care for her and watching her slowly being destroyed by Alzheimer's disease left Rebecca determined to find a cure. She is super focused on her career and doesn't trust people easily so it surprises her when she feels such an instant connection to Owen. He's keeping a lot of secrets though so even though the attraction between them is real and intense things are bound to go horribly wrong when she discovers the truth. I loved how open Rebecca was about her desires and what she wanted from her life, she was willing to take risks in both her career and personal relationships but as her past is about to catch up with her she suddenly finds herself in danger. Owen is the first person she wants to turn to for help but there are some things she can't quite bring herself to tell him about so things are going to get complicated fast.

This was an action packed story with lots going on but it never lost focus on the romance, I loved spending time with all the lost boys and getting to learn more about their background and I also really enjoyed the mystery of what was happening in Rebecca's life. Rebecca and Owen make a brilliant couple, they both make mistakes but when it comes down to it they trust each other enough to work together. Rebecca is thrown into the deep end when she realises what Hope McDonald was up to with her research but her reaction was totally believable and after her initial shock starts to fade she comes out fighting. Things are really starting to move forward now and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Owen Shaw doesn’t remember who he is, but he does know that he once betrayed his team. His mission to find Rebecca Walsh and determine how much she knows about the evil done by Hope McDonald is vital to regaining their trust.

But Dr. Walsh is far more than a suspect in a dangerous and secret game. She is a world recognized neurobiologist trying to find a cure for the disease that took her mother, Alzheimer’s. She knows someone is siphoning money from her research foundation, but she doesn’t realize she has an enemy trying to set her up.

When Owen and Becca meet, all pre-arranged plans fly out the window as sparks fly between them. Owen recognizes quickly that there’s no way Becca would have helped McDonald, but there’s also no question she once worked with the woman. Can he find out Becca’s secrets without revealing his own, and can he keep her safe from the dark forces converging on her from all directions?

This book is another link in the mystery surrounding the “lost boys,” men McDonald had recruited for her “army” by wiping out their memories and keeping them dedicated only to her. They were rescued by the McKay-Taggart team, but are now being sought by various nations to determine how McDonald’s drugs worked. Owen was one of the last injected with the drug, and he had a severe reaction to it, leaving him with scar, both physical and mental. Those scars play a definite role in this story, as does the fact that his team knows about his past, whereas the others have no idea who they were before the rescue.

Whatever he did in the past, Owen is now a good guy, and Rebecca is bright, strong and loving, if a little naïve. Can they find their happy ever after in the face of their guilt? Both are likeable characters-as are most of the secondary characters. The sex scenes are scorching, the plot is convoluted but easy to follow and, we are treated to some of Ian Taggart’s trademark snark, at least in the beginning.

An exciting read, this book makes the reader even more impatient for the next installment in the saga of the lost boys.

Let's start off by saying this is one of my favorite Romantic Suspense authors as she always creates suspenseful and intriguing reads with great characters and we just love them time and time again.

This story started off with a bang and engaged us in the plot from the very first pages in.Let me just say that Owen is one smooth talking sexy Scottish hunk of man and when he talks it is enough to melt a girls panties. Lol

Owen was a secret operative undercover and his job is to get close to Dr. Rebecca Walsh who is a brainiac doctor and once meeting her she is everything he never expected and fell head over heals for her in a instant.

We loved Owen as he was sexy as sin, a bit lonely, unsure of himself and man with sins on his conscience but, he was just one of those love-able character's that you gravitate to because he has that sexy bad boy vibe that you can't help but be drawn to.

Becca aka Rebecca for us was not the typical doctor of science as she secretly loved to live on the edge when she wasn't being her normal self who lives and breaths to work she was a really fun character who surprised us at every moment because she seemed to do things so out of character for her.We loved seeing her temper and it was funny as hell when someone pisses her off.Her fire was Hot!

Owen and Becca were a couple who had some really hot chemistry and not only that they were perfect for one another. We loved the hot and sexy scenes the author created for these two because not only were they hot she made them fun to.

Overall we loved the story and its plot as more and more things are coming to light about getting to the matter of what happen to the men and their pasts. The story was suspenseful and engaging and kept you glued to the pages but, most of all we loved them those eclectic group of operatives who are all so different yet all have a talent and a purpose who make the team deadly .We loved the camaraderie between them and we envy the close knit family they have become but, most of all they have each other back when things go terribly wrong.

"Loved it!"

Recommended read to all!
Loving the series!

“Becca.” Owen’s voice was low. “Concentrate on me, on our conversation. You’ve done incredibly well. You’ve been able to hold it off, but this has gone on far longer than you ever should have been expected to handle it. This elevator is tight. I feel it, too, but we can hold off the anxiety together.” She doubted very much the man in front of her was anxious. He looked solid, like the kind of man who took whatever came his way and simply dealt with it. He wouldn’t have needed two freaking years to figure out what he wanted. He would have signed his divorce papers and moved on, not hiding in his work. It struck her forcibly that she might never have met a man like Owen Shaw. Her childhood had been fairly sheltered. She’d constantly been surrounded by intellectuals, men and women who were far more concerned with their work than anything else. The ground beneath her shifted and the elevator dropped what felt like ten feet, but she knew in her head it was mere inches. Her heart rate tripled, and she grabbed on to the closest thing she could—him. His arms went around her, holding her up, and she heard it. He was so tall that her head naturally rested on his chest, and she could hear his heart beating in rapid time. He was nervous. The phone rang and Owen cursed, reaching out to grab it. The shaft was so small, he didn’t have to let her go to grasp it. “What the bloody hell is happening, Colin?” She could hear his voice over the line. “Sorry. So sorry. We had to lower the shaft the tiniest bit. I should have warned you. It’s not going to fall. Just needed to reposition to get to the problem. Not long now. Another half an hour or so and I’ll have you right out of there.” “If you do that again, do you know what I’m going to do to you, Colin?” There was a pause over the line and she could practically hear Colin’s gulp. “Write my father a tersely worded letter of complaint?” “No, I’m going to pull your heart out through your throat and then I’ll shove it back up your arse.” “You sound very much like Liam Neeson in that movie.” “Liam Neeson is Irish. I’m a Scot. I assure you what I’ll do to you will make you run into Liam Neeson’s arms and beg him to save you.” He reached back and hung up the phone with a resounding clang. His arm went back around her. “It’s going to be all right. They’ll move faster now. So you’ve taken a sabbatical from men.” She breathed him in, loving how he smelled. Were men supposed to smell so good? She could feel herself relax as he held her. She’d known him for three hours. She shouldn’t let him hold her like this. And why the fuck not? Because it wasn’t smart? Because he might think she wanted something she shouldn’t? She was human. Why shouldn’t she want him? Because society told her that good girls didn’t make out with guys they’d just met in an elevator? Society sucked, and she wasn’t a good girl. When her husband had tried to put his name on her work, she’d told him to fuck off and write his own paper. When he’d cheated on her, she’d walked away. She was single. God, was he single? She stepped back. “What’s wrong?” Owen asked. “Do you have a girlfriend?” His lips curled up in the sweetest grin, as though he knew exactly why she was asking that question. “No, love. I don’t have a girlfriend and I don’t have a wife.” He was single. She was single. The moment lengthened between them. He stepped back. “I’m sorry. I’m coming on way too strong.” He wasn’t. He’d been gentlemanly, friendly. Up until the last couple of moments, he hadn’t put a hand on her or leered. She could feel his attraction. It was there in the warm way he looked at her, in the set of his shoulders, relaxed earlier and tense now that he’d touched her. He was thinking about the same thing she was. “I’m very nervous, Owen. My logical mind knows that it’s far more likely for me to die getting hit by lightning than in an elevator, even one that’s stuck.” Unfortunately, her logical mind was slowly losing control of her dumbass lizard brain. “Will talking help?” Owen asked. “Because I’m willing to do that. Or whatever you need to take your mind off things.” There was a wealth of promise in those words. Dirty and sweet at the same time. They’d shared her wine, passing it back and forth between them, her lips touching the same place his had been moments before. When she’d drank after him, she’d thought about kissing him. It had been too long. Two years was way too long to go without sex. They had a half an hour or so. At least that’s what Colin—who might be murdered soon by Owen Shaw—said. She even thought his name was sexy. What exactly would it hurt if she did kiss him? If she touched him and let him touch her? Hell, what would it hurt if she fucked him? They were both single, both a little needy. They had some time to kill. They’d done everything else. “I would like to kiss you.” If he didn’t want her to, he could say no and they could find something else to do. She wasn’t going to be embarrassed because some guy didn’t want her. Some stunningly gorgeous guy. Some really funny, sexy guy. After all, she wouldn’t see him after this. She’d never seen him before. He’d told her he was moving in, but she went into work early and came home late. He was a bodyguard, so he likely worked odd hours and traveled a lot. He was safe. She could open that door, enjoy herself, and then close it again. Owen Shaw could be her first really good memory in a long time, the start of many because it was time to get serious about finding some joy and balance in her life. But only if he wanted some joy, too. He moved back, placing his back against the elevator wall, the sweetest smile lighting up his face. “You have no idea how much I want you to kiss me. I’m right here, love. Do your worst.” He was letting her make the first move. And probably the second. And the third. He was obviously a careful man. It would be easier if he took over, but he was right. This needed to be her choice, and she had to make the move. She’d been the girl who’d told her parents at the age of five that kindergarten was boring and she wanted to move through the grades until she found something challenging. When they’d told her they wanted her to slow down and enjoy her childhood, she’d gone on strike until the teachers at her school begged her parents to let them move her up. She was the girl who’d put it all on hold to take care of her mother, too. She wasn’t the girl who didn’t take what she wanted, and she wanted Owen Shaw. “It’s been a long time since I did this.” But her body was already heating up. Her body remembered. Her marriage might have sucked, but the sex had been fairly good. It had been the reason she’d married him. She’d gotten used to regular, good sex. She’d get used to it again, just on her terms this time. “Somehow, I think you’ll remember,” he said. “You play all you like. Stop when you want to.” She’d been right about him. He was a careful man. “And if I don’t want to stop?” “Then you should be happy I’m a man who believes in being prepared.”

Okay lets get this out of the way...yes I know I am in the minority when it comes to this book. While everyone else seems to love it I liked it, I just couldn't feel the chemistry and for me that is a big thing. Yes the book was HOT don't get me wrong about that it's just that I didn't feel the need seeping from their pours to be with one another. Does that make sense to you?

Owen is one of the "Lost Boys" who lost their memory to the evil Dr. Hope McDonald, on some fronts he's had it worse because he turned on his team in order to save his family but they were killed anyway, this happened in Submission is Not Enough but if you didn't read it no worries this book will fill you in on enough events you wont feel lost, so now he feels as if his team doesn't trust him and he also feels immense guilt over it. I like Owen and understand where he is coming from with some of his actions but not all.

Dr. Rebecca "Becca" Walsh is a genius who will fall under some stereotypes of the brainiac but not all. She is not buttoned up and prissy she is a very sensual person that enjoys sex and lots of it, especially with her hot Scottish new neighbor. SHE is naive though and we learn exactly what happened with her when she was working with Dr. McDonald and some of Tucker's past comes out.

Becca and Owen work well together but once again I just didn't feel that deep desire I enjoy especially in a D/s relationship. I am definitely enjoying this series and I look forward to seeing the rest of the "Lost Boys" find their HEAs but the story I am most interested in has to be Tucker's, I cannot wait to find out the true story of Dr. Razor. Happy Reading!!!

𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝, book two in Lexi Blake’s 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑔𝑜𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑛 series, was a sexy, suspenseful, explosive thrill ride of a romance! A gorgeous and lost Scotsman…a dedicated and bold doctor…WOW! I couldn’t get enough of the intense connection between Owen and Rebecca! Incredible characters (as usual). Passionate love scenes. An exciting and emotional ongoing storyline…I couldn’t take my eyes away from the pages, not even for a minute. I’ve been reading Lexi Blake’s work for so long now, all of her characters feel like family to me. I’m so invested, you have no idea. And you will be too once you give the queen of sexy romantic suspense a try. You will feel MANY things while reading these books, but disapointment will definitely not be one of them.

If Lexi’s acknowledgement didn’t have my throat getting thick & my eyes tearing up, then the prologue sure as shite did the trick! I knew right then and there I was going to love Owen & Becca’s story.

Between the chemistry (Lawwwd, did the Scot have a deliciously filthy mouth!), the suspense, the drama & the sarcasm, the second book in this spin off series delivers in all aspects.

Though, as per normal with Lexi’s romantic suspense mastery, by the end of this second Lost Boys book I had a few answers, but waaaay more questions & a whole whacking heap of anticipation for the next book.

3.75-4 stars. This was a good book. Lost and Found is Owen and Rebecca's story. Owen is one of the lost boys. He was an employee of McKay- Taggart, but he made a tragic mistake hoping to save his mother and sister. He ended up betraying his team and losing all of his memory of his past, because of the evil Dr. Hope McDonald's drug. He still struggles with his guilt and feels like everyone blames him for everything that happened. Now, he is still a part of the team and works with the other lost boys. Becca is an extremely smart, young doctor who researches neurology and Alzheimer's. At one point in the past, Becca studied under Hope McDonald for a brief period of time. So the McKay-Taggart team has gone undercover to meet Becca, get to know her and earn her trust, and find out if she knows how to reverse Dr. McDonald's memory erasing drug. Owen was supposed to be undercover as one half of a gay couple who just moved into Becca's building. But Becca and Owen get stuck in the elevator together on the day they meet, sparks fly and that plan flies out the window. They begin a relationship, while Owen and his team secretly investigate her and what she knows. But it seems someone else is also interested in Becca and scary things start happening. As the suspense ramps up, what will the team find out about Becca and what will happen when she finds out Owen is not just some random guy she met in an elevator?

I really liked Owen and Becca. They had an instant connection that turned to love quickly. For most of the book, they rarely doubted each other. They both were healing from their pasts, were lonely, and they needed each other so badly. I liked that they were both genuinely nice people and were never cruel to each other. They were each other's perfect person. I liked the first 80% more than the end. I felt like the conflict happened too close to the end and resolved too quick and easily. I needed more relationship healing there. Still, the ongoing series storyline is very good. I can't wait for the next book where we will hopefully find out what happened in Munich, as has been alluded to for several books.

Overall, this was a good addition to one of my favorite romantic suspense series. I enjoyed seeing Owen and Becca's relationship develop. I am very much looking forward to what's to come with the Lost Boys and the McKay-Taggart gang in the future!

Lost and Found is the second book in the Masters and Mercenaries The Forgotten Series. Owen is racked with guilt from knowing he threw his team to the wolves in the hope of saving his family. He lost his family anyway and now blends into the background ready to make the ultimate sacrifice to make amends. Becca was the target, nothing more than a job until he sees her smile then all plans change. Their story is angsty, heart wrenching, seriously steamy and one that will have you on the edge of your seat. Both Owen and Becca will need to face some hard truths as lies and deceptions surface. The Mckay, Taggart and Knight team always deliver a suspense filled romance that will have you on your knees and begging for more.

What a lovely surprise! When the original series began to wrap up and this one began, I was concerned. Other than a terrific movie soundtrack circa The 1980s, The Lost Boys didn’t make me salivate...not like the OG Doms certainly did. This story was great and truly had a feel of the earlier works - Ian! Erin! the H/h here reminded me a bit of Jesse/Phoebe - while being new and innovative - Tucker! Levi! Besides, any story that includes Damon (my 4eva #1) is autobuy. The ultimate payoff remains Ezra/Solo, and while the next pairing doesn’t interest me much (Robert is sweet but...eh), Dr Razor is a mystery to solve. 🎵Cry Little Sister🎵...indeed.

Lawd, I cannot read these fantastic Masters & Mercenaries: The Forgotten books fast enough!

In Lost and Found we get Owen’s story. And meet Becca. And try to figure out more of the puzzle to solve the mystery of just exactly how Dr. Hope McDonald managed to erase the Lost Boys’ pasts—so they could hopefully find a way to maybe restore some of their memories.

Turns out Becca has quite the connection with Dr. McDonald. Both women researched the mind and now Becca is closer to finding a cure. But just as Becca’s research comes to a head and could be quite successful in helping the Lost Boys, there’s trouble afoot. Big trouble. Trouble that only Owen and his “brothers” can keep her safe from.

But Becca has no idea what’s headed her way—Owen and the boys are running an op. And can they really keep her safe?

Like I wrote at the start of this review, I cannot read these books any faster than I do—seriously, I crack one open and don’t move until I finish. And I finished Lost and Found seemingly out of breath, squirming a bit in my chair from the sexy times between Becca and Owen, partially annoyed over some of the crazy behaviors of these Lost Boys and the antics of the “bad guys” but with a big ol’ grin because I just loved everything that happened! LOL

I loved the dynamic between Becca and Owen. Loved that these two were able to connect even though they both have issues with interpersonal relationships. I loved Owen’s protective nature and Becca’s naivete and love of science. And I loved them together. I cannot wait for more! ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

I’m always thrilled when it comes to Lexi Blake’s new book.
First of all, I love Lexi’s writing style and all the plot twists she creates. However, I didn’t really like the sulking and brooding of Owen, but I could understand him sometimes.
Personally, I liked better Becca than River. Dr Walsh is a beautiful and high achiever woman; she’s strong and she isn’t scary of making her choices. Her relationship with Owen was natural and didn’t seem forced at all. It felt real, on the contrary when it came to Jax and River’s didn’t feel so real/ so possible. Anyway, I should remind myself that is a fiction.
I loved finding old characters from previous books, it was nice to have back Theo and Erin Taggart. Those scenes were funny and made me think of the old good sarcasm made in the Taggart way.
Last but not least, I’m completely compelled by finding out who the mole is among the most boys or in the group. I have my theories, but we never know what’s going on in Lexi Blake’s mind.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I love this world. I never know what is coming next, but I always know I will enjoy the ride! I hope we get to know more about the Lost Boys and their history as we go forward. Owen and Becca were good together, though they did not have an easy path.

Well narrated by Ryan West - I love his work on this series!!

Espionage, spies and world take down is at its finest in this newest release, Lost and Found. It's also packed with a lot of emotion, fantastic chemistry and all of the sarcastic Taggart charm I love about these books.

Lost and Found (formally named Tabula Rasa-although changed before promos went out and ultimately sad it was changed once you read the book and understand why Lexi chose the original title, it breaks your heart that the original title was lost.)

Also, every writer leaves a piece of themselves in every work they write, but Lost and Found has a deeper emotional piece, similar to Submission is Not Enough, that book tore me apart. Perhaps it's Theo Taggart, his story has always seemed to pack a punch. Theo who is sweet and nice and he has been wrapped up in the storyline right along with Hope McDonald who is the complete opposite and was set on destroying humanity. Once you read the dedication, you'll understand perhaps why this book reaches in and grabs hold of your heart. Lexi, you had me crying before I even began the first chapter.

So before I jump into Owen and Becca's story, give me a minute to back up, to set the stage, if you will. Let's go back about...20 books or so (I know, Lexi is a busy girl). We meet Theo Taggart, after he throws Ian for a loop (all thanks to Ten Smith-it's a great plot twist, please read Lexi's books if you haven't). Theo is the baby Taggart, sort of a big puppy dog, sweet and nice, very anti-Ian. When we meet Hope McDonald, she is itching to get her hands on the ultimate soldier someone like Ian or Ten, what she ends up getting her hands on is Theo (although after she gets Theo, she believes he is the better subject, Ian would have been a horrible rule follower).

Anyway, Hope has been cultivating mind erase drugs and mind-time altering drugs. Something that we find she has been using on humans, without consent (I know, she's evil, the "without consent" should have been a given, but you never know). When Theo's dies, after a mission goes sideways, he really isn't, but in the meantime (like several, several books meantime) Theo's mind is actually being erased over and over by Dr. Evil. He is made to horrible things and all the while he has no recollection of having family or falling in love with Erin. Those books in the series are heartbreaking.

Eventually Theo was saved, Hope McDonald ends up in the wind, but while Theo's memory is still swiss cheese, this is where Owen Shaw's story really begins. You see Hope never gave up wanting her number one specimen back. She would do anything to get Theo and she used Owen to make that happen. She kidnapped Owen's family, she threatened murdering them (without stating she'd already committed the heinous act) if he didn't deliver Theo, Erin and TJ (their newborn) directly to her. What was Owen to do?

Of course Owen wanted to save his own family, and he turned over Erin, not little TJ because he did have some morality, but Hope is evil and Owen was captured himself and had his own mind wiped right after. What Owen never knew, since he was instantly taken is that, Hope died that same day and he was the last "Lost Boy" to ever suffer at her evil hands. Unfortunately, he suffered a terrible allergic reaction to the drugs he was administered. He may not have remembered what he did, or even why he did it, having lost all memories of his prior life, but having heard the stories, he lived with the guilt and figured any scars were his penance. He lost his family, he betrayed his teammates and he would forever be known as the guilty party that no one should trust.

Owen Shaw constantly breaks my heart in this book!!

Moving forward to Lost and Found we meet Becca Walsh, a genius in the Neurology world, having worked once with Hope McDonald. Becca may have the answers to their lost memories, or she may also be an evil doctor like Hope herself. There was only one way to find out, set up a stakeout. The team infiltrated Becca's life, completely surrounding her; moving into her apartment complex, place of employment, even her daily coffee stop. They would know her every move and if she had plans for her current research. More importantly if she received a package from one Hope McDonald.

Could this woman be evil? Owen meets her right away and the team plans pretty much fly out the window. She's sweet, a little goofy and she is definitely attracted to one Owen Shaw. The grow closer and Owen is a lot like Theo, where Becca, although not a gun toting assassin like Erin, is smart and brassy and knows what she wants in life. This couple is so easy to like and watch fall for one another.

Although as much as the team wanted to sit back and play it safe, the game changed when Levi Green moved in and began moving pieces on the game board they didn't know they were playing on. As much as Ezra Fain tried to keep ahead of everything Green did there were just too many unknowns. The stakes are high and there is too much at risk. As much as Owen begins to like Becca he knows he can't keep her, the charde will have to end at some point. He's the bad guy. He's always the bad guy.

For hardcore fans you will love this new addition. I couldn't put it down. For anyone just beginning this new branch in the series, there is enough background scattered in the book that Lexi makes it easy to follow along. (p.s. It also helps to play catch up for anyone to back track the story arc from her last 30+ books). This was once again another A+ read from Lexi Blake.

I really hate that Lexi Blake decided to change the titles for each book in the series. Tabula Rasa was a great title, but I understand that some of the other readers weren't fans of that kind of title and the author had to please the majority. I don't recall if the meaning behind Tabula rasa was explained in the previous book or in the M&M series, so I was very surprised to find out what it meant in this book.

And since we are on the point where I say random things, I feel like I have to say that Tucker better have an evil twin because I love him (and his hookers) and I want to see him get a happy ending. I don't really like Sasha, so if he dies I won't be sad. And finally, can Ezra and Solo get a book? I bet theirs will be the final in the series, where the kill the bad guy, Ezra gets confirmation that Solo didn't cheat on him and they ride off together towards a peaceful life. And speaking of happy endings, I can't wait for book 3! The main characters are already acting like a couple (sort of) and I couldn't help but ship them. That book is releasing in August I think and it's too far away for my liking.

I know that this review seems like a bunch of random thoughts thrown in (which actually is, isn't it?), but I couldn't help myself. Yes, the main focus of the story is finding how Becca is involved in Dr. McDonald's project and if she is the bad guy, but the whole team is interesting and I love most of the Lost boys. Dante is a stranger to me and I don't like Sasha as I mentioned above. River and Jax from Memento Mori (aka the original title of book 1) are living their happy ending as much as they can and the Lost boys with Ezra are trying to complete their mission. Do I need to comment on Lexi Blake's writing? I don't think so. Once again she did a great job and I couldn't be happier with this book. To be honest, though, I could have lived without the mention of Owen going through every sub at Sanctum because some of these ladies could be a heroine in a future book. For almost half of the book, we got a lot of mentions about both of them been with other people and that wasn't my thing. It's also the only element of the story that I didn't like, but I am giving 5 stars to the book because I enjoyed everything else.

The only new character in this book is Becca. It wasn't easy to win her over after everything was revealed and my heart went to Owen who was at fault, but he was hurting and wanting to make things right. She is very likable and an asset to the story and to the cause. I understood her actions and I could emphasize to her.

Thinking of Hope McDonald doesn’t always bring about ‘good thoughts’. The experimentations that Hope performed on human subjects were dangerous and full of malice. With mind altering concoctions paired with time altering drugs, Hope definitely knew her way around manipulation. One thing that drove Hope was the desire to get her hands on Owen Shaw once more.

Determined to obtain Theo by any means possible, Hope threatened to obliterate Owen’s family if he did not bring Theo and his family to her doorsteps. Unbeknownst to Owen, Hope had already murdered his family. The reality of losing his family or betraying his teammates was the straw that broke Owen. However – the thought of losing his family led Owen to turn over Erin to Hope. After the betrayal – Owen was once again treated as a guinea pig, and was pumped full of mind altering drugs.

The stain of Owen’s choice would forever leave a mark on his loyalty. The drugs that were administered to Owen would remain for some time to come. This was why the team sought out Becca Walsh. As the leading specialist in the neurological world, Becca spent time working with Hope in the past. Uncovering just how much of a connection Becca had to Hope became the focal point of the team. Plans seemed to fly out the window the minute that Owen met Becca. Where would their paths lead them? Can Becca hold the answers that could help the Lost Boys?

Fans of Lexi Blake will get a ‘treat’ from her latest release in the spin-off series based around the Masters and Mercenaries. Even if you haven’t followed the wildly successful Masters & Mercenaries – there is enough back information that readers can start with this spin-off series. There are still plenty of secrets left to be uncovered where these characters are concerned, and plenty of plot twists that I expect to unfold throughout the series. Make sure you add the latest book to your collection, because the action just keeps on pulling you deeper into the mysteries surrounding the Lost Boys.

3.5 stars - I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This is an exciting story about a high profile researcher and the former SAS soldier assigned to investigate her past. And while Owen is instantly attracted to Becca, he is all too aware that in the past she may have used her research to help a colleague erase Owen’s memories.

I’m guessing that fans of the Masters and Mercenaries series will understand the backstory behind Owen and the other Lost Boys. As a new reader, I enjoyed the relationship between Owen and Becca. They don’t trust each other. On the surface they don’t have much in common and neither of them can see a future for the relationship. But the chemistry between them is instant and I love the playful banter that easily becomes a friendship. And their gentle D/s sex play is hot.

While I enjoyed the relationship between Becca and Owen, I was slightly disappointed by the quality of the writing. I came to this book from the Thieves/Hunter books and after the gorgeous writing in Outcast, I guess I just expect more from Lexi Blake. This feels like another slightly bland and formulaic special forces romance. With the exception of Becca, the characters are fairly simplistic and predictable. It’s not a badly written book but it lacks the magic I’ve come to expect from Lexi Blake’s writing.

And now for my biggest frustration. This is marketed as the second book in a series - and it really isn’t. This is actually the second in a spinoff series after sixteen books in the Masters and Mercenaries series. So - book 18. I was happy to jump into book 2 in a series by a favourite author but I’d challenge anyone to try and make sense of book 18. At the start of the book, I was completely lost in the incredibly complicated backstory and it was well past the halfway point before I was understanding the storylines in this book. My head was spinning with casual references to characters, events and places.

If I hadn’t signed up to review the book, I would have put it down after a few chapters. This isn’t an author issue, it’s a marketing/publishing problem. I read blurbs carefully before requesting the books I review and there is nothing in the goodreads description to suggest that this story isn’t a stand alone read.

Lost and Found is the 2nd book in the Masters and Mercenaries: The Forgotten series. I would suggest reading this series in order, as each book builds on the previous.
I will be honest here and admit that I enjoyed book 1, but book 2 was fantastic!

The "Lost Boys" are a group of men who've been abducted and used for nefarious purposes.
These men have no idea who they WERE, where they're from, or any important information. All they know about their past are bits and pieces that have come back to them, slowly and with therapy.
They DO know they've been used for biological experiments by the evil Dr. Hope McDonald.

My heart goes out to Owen, he may have had the worst experience at the hand of Dr.McDonald. Not only were ALL of his memories wiped out, but he also had a terrible allergic reaction to the drugs. When he's told that he turned on his team, when he tried to save his family but failed miserably, he lost his will to live.

Dr. Rebecca Walsh lives a sheltered life, by her own design. Some may call her a workaholic, and that would be appropriate as she's researching the cure to Alzheimer's. Pouring herself into work, she doesn't have the desire or time to socialize.
That is until a chance meeting with a ginger god in the awful elevator of her apartment building...

I loved everything about this story. Becca is a strong, independent woman who may be a bit naive at times, but extremely intelligent. Owen is a strong but damaged man, who finds acceptance in the most unlikely of places. Together, Becca and Owen learn to trust themselves and rely on other people. The story was fast-paced and exciting, it was complicated yet straight-forward, and it was sweet yet frustrating. I love the entire team of Lost Boys, and hope every single one gets their happy ending.

Lost and Found (Masters & Mercenaries: The Forgotten #2) by Lexi Blake
5 stars
M/F Mystery, Romance
Triggers: Kidnapping, Murder, some BDSM bedroom antics
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This is the second book in this series and it didn't disappoint. I love watching these "Lost Boys" finding themselves, love and figuring out the mystery that of their memories.

Owen is a teammate who knows that he made the ultimate sacrifice. He lost a lot and despite the loss, he wants to prove himself and earn back the trust of his brothers and himself. When he's given his next assignment, things don't go quite as expected. However, Owen is willing to do what it takes to ensure that this mission is successful. What Owen is not expecting is to truly develop feelings for his target.

Rebecca, or Becca, as she likes to be called, is fairly quiet. She loves her job, but because of her past, she has really only been driven to find the cure for Alzheimers. Despite trying to have a relationship, she found that because she has always been the smartest person in the room and the youngest, she had to build up a thick skin. People wanted things from her that they weren't willing to work for themselves. While working her dream job, she finds out someone is out to get her fired, or worse, killed. What she doesn't expect is to fall for her new neighbor, Owen or feel real feelings for her new found friends that she is desperately trying to make.

How Becca and Owen meet was pretty funny. I love that it wasn't a big thing, but that they were each looking for something, they just weren't sure what. It was difficult to watch their relationship unfold, because you knew that there were truths that had to come out and that was going to cause a lot of hurt and anger. Both characters are well developed and you get to find out a lot about their past, but I wanted more of their future together. They had great chemistry too - mostly because despite Becca's brains, she loves that Owen is dominant in some areas of their relationship.

The other brothers were great in this story and I loved how Green fit in too. I can't wait for the next book and hope that we get to see more of Owen and Becca because I felt that we only touched the surface of their relationship and there is so much more to them.

Dr. Rebecca Walsh has dedicated her life to researching the secrets of the mind. Her atmospheric rise in her field was fueled by the horror of watching her mother’s agonizing journey into madness at the hands of a disease with no cure. She vowed to never rest until she finds it.
Owen Shaw and his “brothers” lost everything, their entire existence erased. Science had robbed he and all the Lost Boys of their memories and their past, but not their future. Hunted by every intelligence agency in the world, they are focused on two goals: find a cure for what was done to them and ensure that the technology that ruined their lives doesn’t get out into the world.
Owen meets Rebecca in an elevator and their is instant attraction. Owen and his team have moved into Rebecca's building and some have gotten jobs at the lab to keep an eye on her. They had lost their memories do another Doctor but they think Rebecca had something to do to it as well. So they are trying to become friends with her and trying to get info from her.
I really liked this book and all the characters, except for 2 or 3 :-). This was well written and kept my attention from the beginning.
I received this from Inkslinger for review.

Lost and Found is the second book in Lies Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries spinoff series, The Forgotten. In a previous book, Owen Shaw, betrayed his team to save his family but ultimate baddie Dr. MacDonald killed them anyway and dosed him with her memory erasing drug. Do you have to have read that book to enjoy this one- Nope.

Becca is a brilliant neurologist that was working with Dr. McDonald but did she know what the evil doctor was really doing or is she naive? Owen is sent in undercover to find out but their instant attraction (instant elevator sex anyone??)

Owen, sigh a sexy Scot with a “where do I belong” issue because he betrayed his team but he did it for the right reason - to save his mom and sister- he couldn’t know that it wouldn’t matter. I loved how protective he was of Becca and just wanted to take care of everything for her so she could do her important work. I loved the beginning - getting to know Becca and why she researches dementia.

There was lots of action, spying, gun fighting and we do have more questions than answers at the end but that’s ok because I will dive into Robert and Ariel’s book!

I listened to Lost and Found and Ryan West is just wonderful with the accents- Owens Scottish, the Brits and Russians, he brings life to them all.

I really do feel like I sound like a broken record when it comes to my reviews for books written by Lexi Blake. The way she can captivate readers with the perfect balance of suspense, drama, sexiness and characters that you can’t help but love, makes for some of the best books I have read, Lost And Found is just another one to add to the Lexi Blake must read list! I have become more and more pickier when it comes to books that are romantic suspense because the balance is usually off and I just don’t feel the fulfillment that I am looking for. Lost And Found fulfilled what I was looking for when I picked it up.

Owen and Rebecca have a chemistry that is hard to deny. These two will put you on a ride of emotions throughout the book. The push and pull, the drama, the suspense, the sexual chemistry made these characters even more realistic in my mind. I couldn’t have pictured anyone else for these two than each other.

I can easily say that fans of Lexi Blake need to have this one at the top of their TBR lists, because they will not want to miss out on Owen and Rebecca’s story!

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

5*s of phenomenal reading!

This is the second book in this series, but a spin off from the Masters and Mercenaries series. I would suggest that to really get the whole goodness you need to read them all - and I have to say I almost envy you if that is what you do, as you will get the whole story in one go, rather than the agony of having to wait for the next one to be released! You most certainly should read the first in this series before this one. I am assuming that you have in my review.

I have to admit that as much as I wanted to read this book, being reminded of what happened to these vibrant, intelligent alpha males is heartbreaking all over again. Am possibly most of all for Owen. He was part of the team and gave them up to save his family, and in the process lost them and the trust of the team, He also suffered terribly from an allergic reaction to the evil drugs which has left him scarred physically as well having wiped his memories. He therefore knows what he did because he has been told, but no memory of it taking place. That is a situation that it is difficult to atone for, yet he tries.

And, whilst 'she' is no more, the danger of her research falling into the wrong hands are all too real, and the team continue to fight to ensure that no one else suffers, and possibly the 'Lost boys' may get their earlier lives back. The plot is tight, and the action is fast paced, so fitting in a rather lovely, if unusual love story is a skilled thing to do. And one which should have never taken place, if it weren't for a broken lift and an unimaginably strong chemistry.

Owen has to deal with a lot of complex issues in this book, and is so torn between his proving loyalty to the team, and yet wanting to be genuine with Becca. It is a challenge that really could only ever set him up to fail, but Lexi Blake gives us a view of what a wonderful relationship they could have, and the faith in her writing that it will all work out. It is fun that the geeky scientist has a very naughty side hiding under her prim and proper demeanour.

Another fabulous adventure, leading us ever nearer to a possible solution. It was also lovely to catch up with all the ongoing and newly developing relationships which will feature in the future!

Owen, a traitor in his past/ forgotten life, has been given a second shot at life. His rescuers are the same bunch of people he betrayed, so expect a lot of misplaced trust issues and moral dilemmas.

Rebecca, or Becca, is a genius. With extraordinary research skills, she is said to have worked for Hope McDonald, the villain of this series.

But when the insecure but sweet to the core Owen is given the assignment to win Becca’s trust, he finds it difficult to just stick to the mission and not give her a permanent place in his heart. With multiple mysteries unraveling simultaneously, the plot is intense at its very best.

What I love most about Blake’s stories is the involvement of the characters in the plot as much as the romance, that is inevitable. Owen and Becca’s chemistry is impeccable, and their vulnerabilities add a new dimension to the story. The progress of the actual plot (‘the lost boys’ story) is equally thrilling and anticipatory.

I can’t wait to read more from this series because I am equally invested in the story and the romance that holds these men together.

5 Star Review of Lost and Found (Masters and Mercenaries: The Forgotten #2) by Lexi Blake
The second book in the series spin off from the hugely popular Masters and Mercenaries. Lost and Found got to me so much.
Rescued by McKay Taggart, 6 men wander the world no longer knowing their true identities. Used as experiments they have had their memories stripped from them and they all react in varying ways.
This is Owen Shaw’s story and that of the woman who despite himself he comes to love, Dr Rebecca (Becca) Walsh.
Becca is a woman totally fixated on helping others, often to her own detriment. Her focus is seeking a cure for the disease that took her mother’s life and she has no time for love. There were times that Owen nearly broke my heart, he lives with the guilt that has almost destroyed him and the knowledge that people he loved died (his mother and sister) because of him and he betrayed his team to try and save his family. The burden is so hard to bare that sometimes he just wants to give up.
Initially in Toronto to scope out Becca the team believe that she may be the key to unlocking some, if not all of their secrets. However when Becca and Owens’ past comes back to haunt them, danger will rear it’s head. In fact the secrets that have been buried for so long may well destroy the Lost Boys too.
Will Owen be able to keep Becca safe or will he lose the woman who has come to mean so much to him?
Lost and Found is filled with suspense, danger, intrigue and the growth of a deep and committed love; one that made my heart pound at times. Lexi Blake always ensure that her characters are never one dimensional or superficial and I was engrossed from the first chapter to the last. As always it was great to see some familiar faces pop into the book.
I cannot wait to see what Ms.Blake has in store for the rest of The Lost Boys as they seek to find their past and in doing so find their future. In my humble opinion she is in a class of her own.

Lexi Blake brings readers another amazing story with the newest book in The Forgotten series.

I loved Owen just as much as I loved Jax in the previous book, but in a whole different way.

Owen had some serious mental and emotional baggage in this story. He is haunted by past actions and the things he can't remember. His outlook was very bleak until he met Becca.

Becca was a great character (not that I expected any less from Lexi Blake). She was smart and funny and awkward but confident all at the same time. She was a real breath of fresh air for Owen.

Theirs was the kind of relationship you just enjoy watching develop. You smile in those little moments they reveal more of themselves to each other. You really get to read and experience them falling in love.

Overall this book rang all my bells and checked all my boxes. I look forward to reading more in this series and from this author.

"I have been there from the beginning, devouring every story in the Masters and Mercenaries series and their offshoots. Waiting patiently on the next installment of what these characters are up to. This new book didn’t disappoint! Owen is one of the lost boys that had their memories erased by Hope McDonald. And this is his story.

This story follows Dr. Rebecca Walsh who used to work with Dr. McDonald. They want to see if she helped to wipe the lost boys memories or if she may be the key to help them find a way to reverse what was done to them.

This story is filled with suspense, tender moments and many twists. Whether you have read another book in the series or not, there is enough backstory to be able to read this one. For me it was another hit and I can’t wait for the next story!
