3 hours and 59 minutes

** Can Be Read As a Standalone Dragon Shifter Romance or As Part of the Gray Back Bears Series **

Damon Daye is the last immortal dragon shifter, and has been protecting his mountains and the people who live there for years. His outlook on life is simple. Remain cold enough that no one ever touches his heart. This is the only way he’s learned after all this time to protect himself, but the bear crews in his mountains have been breaking down his walls little by little, and no one realizes how dangerous the consequences can be. When his best friend, Mason, brings a woman to him to settle his want for a child, Damon is stunned to find she is the exact physical replica of the woman who destroyed him eons ago. Unfortunately for all, the more attached he becomes to the beguiling woman, the more dangerous his dragon becomes.

Alpha bear shifter, Clara Sutterfield, thinks she has everything figured out. After the tragic loss of her crew, she is bound and determine to face this harsh world alone as a closed-hearted and minimally talented psychic. Tarot cards and palm readings are her gig, but lately, she’s been dreaming of otherworldly creatures with wings, and teeth, and fire. When she is hired to help a rich landowner with his ghost problem, she has no idea she is walking into a hoax for her to meet the man who has been visiting her in visions. The more she gets to know about the cold dragon, the more he warms her heart, but there’s a reason her fate has led her to Damon, and they are both about to face a storm that could end the world as they know it. Her options are simple: run away and survive the dark destiny that is coming for her, or stand and fight with the dragon who now protects her heart. And if she survives Dangerous Damon, she just might find that she can survive anything.

Content Warning: explicit love scenes, naughty language, and piles of sexy shifter secrets.

I was so pleased that Damon (from previous books/series by this author) get his shot at happiness. He was truly a unique character. I adore all the characters this writer has created. It makes for such a fun atmosphere when they all get together. The plot had plenty of action and there was never a dull moment. I also love that this writer offers a lot of her books (like this one) on kindleunlimited. I will defiantly be continuing this series.

Although Last Immortal Dragon is supposed to be a stand alone, I do not believe that I would have enjoyed it nearly as much had I not read the rest of the Gray Back Bears books first. Without the background on the Hero and supporting characters from the earlier books, I think the amount of character development typical in a short novella would not have been adequate to convey the depth of Damon's hurt and need and allow for the corresponding level of joy at his finding his mate in Clara. If you would enjoy a quick dragon shifter romance read with a light plot and some action, you may like T.S. Joyce's Last Immortal Dragon.

This was messy at best.
Yes, the Dragon deserved a story.
The Female was an Alpha who wasn’t very strong once she met her guy. Bummer.
There was so much story T.S. Joyce wanted to tell but nothing was throughly completed in this short book. Pity.
The ending of this series and this book were both disappointing and unsatisfying.

Great Book

I think the Last Immortal Dragon was better than any of T.S. Joyce's "werebear" shifter books...or maybe I just liked the Dragon more. Damon, the Dragon and Beason, one of the werebears are two of my favorite characters. This book is the story of Damon and his mate Clara and all they go through to get to their "happy ending". It is a great book to me and I'd recommend it.

Oh holy heck! I don't know...I think this might be my favorite! I love them all but damn....Damon and Clara! Just started this afternoon and I could NOT put it down! Just had to keep reading. Damon has been through some awful things in his long life. He's felt that he had to be cold and let nobody in because he loses them anyways because he's immortal and the only one. Clara has been through some awful things too. Losing her whole crew and 2 men she loved and tried to be a family with and have kids only to lose them. Clara is the spitting image of Damon's love from eons ago and Clara comes from the same line. She's different and I believe all her headaches and dreams she has is because that woman's spirit is in her. She's got a task to complete, a promise she made to Damon before she died. She takes over long enough to complete it. He's not exactly receptive of Clara at first but he can't help himself. She's vibrant and funny and really sweet. Feisty comes to mind as well. They are good for each other and it doesn't take long for them to fall in love. They do get their HEA but I cant give everything away. Its a great ending and its all summed up as well to end the series. Will there be more? I don't know what she'll get up to or these bears! LOL. We've learned so much about Damon that we constantly wondered about. I cant get over how much I loved it. T.S. Joyce is brilliant!

Disappointment - small spoilers

This is my least favorite book in T.S Joyce's books. It was apprent at the very beginning the black wing dragon did not die and would try to kill Damon and his Mate. The entire book was one note and I just didn't feel The dialogue, The romance (basically none). Minimal steamy parts or really kind of forced and not sexy at all. And now he becomes a mortal dragon lumber jack living in 1010?! Please. No. Wish I could've love this book and cry but I just didn't. This was very rushed and confusing. I really want to love this book because I love the Author but the style was completely different than normal and the Emotion was very dead. And of course there is no epilogue which i always expect sorry. (if this is your first experience with this author please do not judge the other books on this one.)

What Is It About:
Damon is the last immortal dragon. He's slowly been losing it after spending centuries watching those he loved die, especially now that he's surrounded by the warm characters of those on his mountain. Mason wants to help and brings in a woman to help him, thinking that a mate or a baby will help him be happy. Clara is a crappy-psychic that's alone in the world. She goes to the mountain for a job as a psychic and finds out that she's been brought there as a breeder. Her only rule is that they create the baby in the old-fashion way, but they start to fall in love, but Clara's connection to Damon's first mate who betrayed him.

What I Liked and Didn't:
I do love a book involving a dragon shifter and Damon deserves his own happy ending after all of the nice things that he's done for those that live on his mountain. I also like Clara, her sassy nature and confidence was great and she balanced out Damon's stiffness well. But I just couldn't get into the whole reincarnation of the dead lover, it ruined the romance for me because it just created unncecessary drama that could have been included in some other way- maybe the ghosts of Damon's dead wives that are never mentioned again?
Plot-wise, I was not prepared for what happened, and not in the good way that it was surprising but more there was no hint that anything was going to happen and everything happened within pages of each other. Although I will admit that it was a nice twist that let Damon live his happily ever after with Clara.

Final Thoughts:
i think that after so many helpful things that Damon's done and how incorporated his is in the lives of those on the mountain, I had too high an expectation for Damon's story. I just think that he deserved more, but I suppose she was a great influence on him.
Would I recommend it? Not on it's own but if you're invested in the characters of the series then sure.
Will I be carrying on the series? I think it'd be interesting to start to read the Boarlander Series but I'll power through the random Easton Holiday book.

Oh my gosh, a huge must read.....

Oh my gosh... I've loved every glimpse, every snarl, every fire breathing moment of Damon we've seen in every other book of T S Joyce's epic collection thus far. This one is a huge huge must have, must read, must keep!!! ( and re read it and all the other books!!!! ) I love dragons, I love them, they snarl, they sneer, they breathe fire, they morph and shift into huge beasts that protect, hunt, and fly! Some say dragons are cold and snake like, but this has to be far from true since they can breathe fire and eat molten hot ash, plus, their scales and hide are very tough.

Damon Finally gets his story, and boy is it a doozy!!!!

I loved every minute of it, and I really hope we get more in this collection somehow. I own every one of Joyce's books and I highly urge you to read them all. If you want to fall in love with a shifter book boyfriend, you can not go wrong with one of her leading guys, or their friends!! A huge must read!!!!

A story that brought up a larger theme to me. Unless you go earlier than they, you are likely to be the last one left of your 'Crew', whether by accident, longevity, or like the dragon-shifter Damon Daye, immortality. The thing is, you just never know what's going to happen, and like Clara, you can find yourself suddenly alone without a good plan.

This story is about two shifters who are in that situation of being the last ones standing, and what happens when they meet each other. I loved this story that ends with a HEA. I totally understood their emotions.

I really like T.S. Joyce's work (the dramatic 'Wolf Brides' are a favorite) and I am looking forward to see what's next.

The H is lonely, isolated and foundering. The h is the same, plus she sees ghosts and believes she's going mad. They want to have a baby together but he starts to see why she seems so familiar. Loved the insight into his past and how it connects to their future. Great story.

This was a really exciting edition to the series. Just like Lowlander Silverback, it had a completely different feel from the rest of the series.

Damon Daye, the owner of the mountain all of our werebears live and work on, is the world's last immortal dragon. He tries to live separate from mortals because of the pain of losing them when they die. But every once in a while, he feels the desire to have a child to raise as a way to connect to someone. This book opens with his driver/friend Mason suggesting it's time for him to have another child because he's been slipping away a bit. Mason ends up bringing over a werebear, Clara, who's past crew all died.

This book feels a bit more paranormal in nature than other books in the series. Clara is somewhat of a psychic. She gets premonitions in her dreams and can see ghosts. There's a bit of possession in here as well.

Honestly, there is so much interesting stuff going on in this one, that I really wish it had been longer! Damon's history was so exciting. I would have loved more of the dragon wars and seeing more of the world building for that time.

I do feel like the relationship in this one wasn't as strong as others in the series, though. Maybe it was because there was so much focus on Clara's connection with Fayadine and the big ending? Or maybe because Damon has always been a bit cold and aloof in the rest of the series, so it was hard to warm up to him so fast? I'm not sure. It just felt like the relationship building was more telling rather than showing for this couple.

I really liked all the dragon stuff, the romance was a bit meh, so I averaged the whole thing to a 3 star.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

Although we’ve run into Damon, his anger, his coldness, his aloofness and his almost cruel separation from the rest of the crews on his mountains – we’ve also seen a slowly changing Damon as well. Perhaps a smile might cross his lips and be seen by someone other than Mason, perhaps he might show up at one of the crew fire pit meals in the trailer parks, we’ve seen him deal with those that want to harm his mountains – so over time Damon has become an integral part of these connecting series. Granted, mostly in the background but we’re never left in doubt as to who these mountains belong to.

Last Immortal Dragon finally gives us the entire story of Damon Daye, and it is more heartbreaking than we could have ever imagined. He is the last of his kind, these mountains are his closely guarded treasure and it seems he is ready to die but he cannot for he is immortal.

Mason, his friend and servant has one final, desperate trick up his sleeve. He needs Damon to want to live again, to find that one thing he’s been craving and needing – companionship. Perhaps Mason went about it the wrong way, but his heart is true and his friendship with Damon more important than his fear of angering the dragon. Now, he has to sit back, regroup and hope that Damon will take the risk, will open his heart and return to the living, not the merely existing, once again.

Like most readers who have become caught up in this ongoing, connecting series – I’ve been waiting for Damon’s story. Although we rarely saw him, his power and presence has been apparent throughout all the stories. When I began Last Immortal Dragon, I never suspected I’d be crying before the ending as the anguish of Damon’s long life becomes frighteningly clear to us all. Clara is exactly what Damon needs. And if there is a hint of some supernatural help in them finding each other, it made the tale that much more special for me. My heart is too full to say anymore, and to go on would take the chance of spoiling this amazing romance for you. This is one of those stories that you need to read for yourself.

Although Ms Joyce has stated that Last Immortal Dragon could be read as a stand alone if you love dragon shifter stories – it truly is a story that puts the cap on an amazing series, and to not experience all that Damon has been throughout these stories would be denying yourself an amazing background to this proud, ancient dragon.

There is not a high enough recommendation I could give for this story – all the stories that make up Damon’s Mountains in truth, but this one is extremely special. If you want to experience an endearing love, an epic battle and the moment that an ancient dragon finds his love, then you need to read this story. Now.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Too fast,too shallow but good.

Too fast,too shallow but good.
As usual soo much to work w/ ,soo much wasted potential but still not half bad.
With Ms. Joyce I know I’ve got to come to terms w/what’s almost always going to feel like 1/2 a bag of chips in a huge party size of a bag.
Stories that will mostly feel 1/2 done 9/10’th’s of the time .
Not easy.
Stories that are racing hell bent to the ending/finish line before they’ve even started good.
Stories that are good for what they are ,just wish they were more .
Thanks

Damon finally gets his story!

The only thing I didn't like about this book was that the ending came on fast. Everything else was perfect and I loved Clara as Damon's mate. These books are short, but the stories are always big and this one was no different. Love the Gray Backs!

Damon seemed much more relatable after this book. I know people always think how great it would be to live forever, but I can’t imagine having to watch loved ones die over and over again as I stayed frozen in time. I understood his aloofness. Clara was all right - I didn’t connect with her or feel as though I got really got to know her though.

True Love.......Second Chance!!!

Damon Daye, the last immortal dragon was a hard man to get close to after he lost his love, a Blackwing named Feyadine. The betrayal and the loss of his beloved hardened his heart but over the centuries, he had learned to get close to people again. Sure he still kept them at arms length cause he didn't want to go through the pain of seeing his loved ones die while he still roamed the earth.

Clara Sutterfield a bear shifter and an descendant from Feyadine's bloodline found her way to Damon's door. Their first encounter was a soul wrenching one, the pull between them was undeniable.

Damon was betrayed in the past by the one woman he ever loved, Feyadine but he was SAVED by his one true love and mate, Clara. So happy that our dragon Damon Daye got his HEA, the way he let Clara in was beautifully executed.

LAST IMMORTAL DRAGON was mesmerizing. T. S. Joyce writing Damon's story was a delightful treat, she saved the best for last... I recommend this book to all shifter lovers around the world. 5+++

Wow!

Deep shaky breath! Dry the eyes! The first word coming to mind is Wow! I knew Damon's story was going to be powerful but....it was so beyond that!

Damon & Clara - what a pair! He's the last immortal dragon who's so tired of outliving everybody he cares about. He keeps himself away from everybody. She's an alpha grizzly who also has lost everybody she cares about. Plus she thinks she's going insane (literally).

There is so much more to this book than just a HEA. It's one of those books that once you start you can't stop until you turn that last page.

If you've been reading these series then you're probably as heartbroken as I am that this is to be the last one. Ever single one has touched me, each one for a different reason. I've been a huge Beaston fan all along and his story was my favorite. Now I'm not so sure!

If you haven't read these series, do it now! You won't be disappointed!!!

Damon knows he is getting soft with the children being born and his crews on his mountain, so when Mason brings Clara to him to breed he is hit hard because she is his end all over again. Clara sees Damon for the person he is not what he has and breaks through his hard shell when Damon is threatened by his past he finds out. ot only is Clara with him but so is all of his crews, you don't leave family. With Beaston and his chomp, Kong and his strength and with Claras ancestor in her not only will they win but Damon will be gifted his one wish to grow old with his mate.
That being said. I was sad to see the end to TS Joyce's bears she has made it possible to fall in love more with each and every book, the family love and carung that is shown in each book is what will always keep me as one of her biggest fans.

Great story !! T.S. Joyce has a wonderful knack with her shifters. We love these characters right away, and the stories are interesting, with super hot sexiness. Everything we want !! This last story of the Lumberjack/Gray Back Bear series. I've read everyone, and it's been awesome. Damon, Last of the Immortal Dragons, finds a mate in Clara, Alpha Grizzly shifter. Clara has more going on than being a Grizzly, and we can't wait to turn the next page. Deep emotions, beautiful writing, and terrific people in this story. Damon and Clara make a deal to have a baby, and usually the male raises the kids, but Clara gets to be in on the mothering. Great cast, amazing tale, and incredible storytelling. You'll love it !!
Highly recommend ! ENJOY !!!

Love!

I having been waiting for Damon to get his HEA, and boy, did Miss Joyce sure deliver. I love that she has managed to make each story of all the connected series different but yet the interconnection is amazing. I love the way she writes. The characters are all different and amazing in their own way. The men are all alpha males yet they're more than that. Her characters are all one of a kind. And humour is a big part of her writing. I like smiling when I read the funny bits. Willa calling herself "almost alpha" is a hoot. Lol. I hope Mason gets a girl next. Please, let's not be done yet, Miss Joyce!

Another amazing win for TS Joyce

A great stand alone story! I have read all of the other series connected to this book, and I have to say, I haven't once been disappointed.
Grab up every story you can that was written by this amazing woman. If you love paranormal creatures, who find HEA, you won't be disappointed either.
I was so excited for Damon's story, and it was fantastic. I look forward to more in the future from this author.

Saved the best for last.

This was my favorite of all the grey back books. Each one better than the last. This one was truly the best. Seeing Damon in a new light, answering so many questions from other books about his past. Perfection. Clara is exactly who I would've pictured as a mate for Damon. Smart, sassy and a total badass. Could not have asked for a better ending to a fabulous series of books. I'm going to miss all of the characters.

Last Immortal Dragon by T.S Joyce was by far my favorite in the series.

Damon has lived for eons as the cold hearted monster that was inside of him. Never opening his heart for anyone, until the bear crews started to slowly break down his walls. But when Clara showed up, she shattered those carefully places walls.

But what happens when Damon realizes he is not the last immortal dragon?? Can Clara help right the wrongs that where done to him in the past??

Last immortal Dragon

Once again her tale made me laugh so hard I had tears. I'm not sure she'll be able to top this one. I love that all her characters from the different crews were intertwined in this tale. Most of all the fact they showed how a mishmash of people can truly be your family.

This was a new author for me so I had not read any of the other series and I'm guessing that is the problem. From book one there is no story arc. It felt like I missed the first few chapters. But they also ended abruptly. This last book is about a character that must have been well know through other series because it read as if I knew him well. I didn't and didn't care. Didn't finish this.
