But every attempt he makes to tell her the truth is met with extreme hostility. “Vampires aren’t real. The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant 3 is the third book in this series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Can you read this as a stand alone? Yes. Enough information is given for you to catch up. But your enjoyment, I feel, would be much better if you started at the beginning. That way you can get to know these characters from the start and experience what Michael has been going through ever since he arrived in Phoenix and met his librarian.

All the way through, this is who I pictured Michael looking like!
Daniel Gillies

Michael Vanderhorst is a four hundred year old vampire stuck in the body of a nineteen year old. He came to Phoenix about a month ago to find out who killed his maker, Clive. He was drawn into the library that day when he first met Miriam Murphy, and she has been his obsession ever since. Vampires don’t feel love. But his feelings for Miriam have continued to grow. Does he love her? Maybe he does. He definitely doesn’t like being away from her. She’s a danger magnet. And now with everything going on, she is a target due to her association with him.

“Something is coming, something big.”

blonde professional woman in glasses

All of the council members are missing and Michael finds himself appointed king. A war is brewing. The fate of all human kind falls on Michael’s shoulders. He doesn’t know who to trust. Above all, Miriam is now a target. He has to keep her safe.

“I am completely lost to her. This thing between us is powerful, and a part of me realizes just how dangerous that is because there is nothing I wouldn’t do for her.”

old books

There are so many twists and turns with this one. Michael’s life is non-stop chaos from the first page until the last. It is one puzzle after another to try to solve. Nothing is fitting together, nothing is making sense. Except Miriam. As much as I’ve loved this series from the start, there was only a hint of romance brewing. In this one, we do get a bit more so I’m thrilled with that. My heart rate never went down throughout this book. Poor Michael. There are so many surprises. And yes, Mr. Nice is back. He’s hilarious.

You will get answers with this one. If you are at all interested in this series, read it now. Is there more to come? Yes. I hope lots more. Are you listening, Mimi Jean??? So this is more of a To Be Continued. If you like your books to be a mix of paranormal, mystery, suspense, humor, and some romance, then get to clicking. Because this series is all of these things and more, so much more!

If you enjoy this authors crazy writing then this story will no doubt tickle your funny bone too. Michael is now King of the Vampires following the mysterious disappearance of the entire Vampire Council ! He is desperate to keep his favourite Librarian safe from any fallout but just who can he really trust ?
Oo this felt very different to the last book and I remember lamenting that the romance just wasn’t really happening so I’m overjoyed to report that things certainly move forward in this story. It’s just a shame that Michael really doesn’t have the time to just sink his fangs into what could be the love of his life because nothing about Miriam is easy.
Ok my fellow Pamfiloff addicts here is when I tell you that this book has the usual mayhem and quirkiness that we’ve come to expect but I think the author has exceeded all expectations with the twists here. I remember Occams Razor and the idea that the most obvious answer is usually the right answer and this story had Michael confronting betrayal and revelations that could seriously mess with a mere mortals head so it’s just as well that Michael isn’t mortal! This book does wrap up a particular storyline but paves the way for Michael to ride to the rescue again and you just know it’s going to be a snark infested dream come true !
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

As we continue to follow the saga of 400 year old Michael and the librarian object of his affection, we are drawn deeper and deeper into a tale that has so many twists and turns I never see coming. Each time I think I know what’s going on, another wrench is thrown in my thinking and I get hooked on this ridiculously premised book all over again.

I have no idea how she does it, but Mimi manages to combine snark, light hearted humor, murder, romance and mystery, and have an actual cohesive story emerge. Truly, her books are one of a kind, and I would recognize her writing style anywhere. Whether it’s dark paranormal or lighthearted romance her stories are irreverent and quirky and nothing is safe.

I don’t know how to review this book without giving away spoilers other than to say it is an utterly enjoyable race to save the world from vampire domination. You don’t need to be a paranormal fan to love this series and I’m happy to know that Michael and Miriam’s story is not over quite yet.

Author Pamfiloff has brought us another adventure with the frumpy librarian and her vampire assistant, and it's pure crack for us book-a-holics. Where lead character Michael thinks things like this:

"A woman with so many books is too sexy for words. In short, after all that I have done for my kind, they cannot rob me of the only thing I have ever truly wanted: a librarian to call home."

It's as if Pamfiloff wrote an ode to nerdy readers with this series, and I proudly stand tall to thank her profusely! Michael is a tall, beautiful vampire who falls for a librarian! It's like dreams coming true, while reminding the reader that it's fiction. (Darn it!🙄) Pamfiloff has kept her snarky sense of humor here, having Michael say:

"I am a vampire. I drink blood. Sure, I also enjoy strong coffee and vegetarian cuisine with blistering hot chili peppers because it makes me feel alive, but I still require blood to live. "

This story takes place almost immediately after the last one ended, and Michael is neck deep in another vampire mystery. He's overwhelmed, even with Lula and assistant Vivienne helping him figure it all out. And it's a frightening future that they all have to fight against. Does Michael have what it takes to be King during this tumultuous time?

Yes, you get more Mr. Nice and the Fanged Love book series, which Pamfiloff uses to wink at the readers yet again. You get twists and turns. You get dialogue that will make you laugh. You get chemistry with Michael and Miriam. And most of all you get a fun, satisfying mystery romp through the eyes of an author who clearly loves the Miriam the Librarian in all of us. No cliffhanger!

I have to say this is a very unique Vampire story. It's not quite a romance but has some in it. It's more of a comedic mystery series. Each book is technically a standalone but you will know more about these characters if you start from book one.

This have very little romance. We do get more in this book vs the first two installments but it's not the main focus of the series. Personally, I prefer more romance but I do love a good laugh these characters provide. It's a silly comedy that makes the books a light read.

I do really like that you aren't left hanging after each book. It does set it up the direction for the next book but it is a mystery exactly where the author will take us.

He may be an ancient and powerful vampire, but even Michael has no control over his heart when it comes to his boss, nerdy librarian Miriam. Now, as the reigning King of vampires, a position bestowed on him when the real king vanished, a war coming and Miriam’s life in danger, there may be only one way to save her, but would she be willing to take that walk down the aisle with him? She doesn’t even know who or what he is, to her, he is her lowly library assistant.

Definitely some intriguing and nail-biting stuff going on, but wait! This is Mimi Jean Pamfiloff behind the pen of THE LIBRARIAN’S VAMPIRE ASSISTANT 3 we are talking about!

Hang on to your fangs, because even with disaster around the next corner, this is a quirky and fun read filled with some VERY interesting twists that are truly game-changers for Michael and Miriam! Who knew what shocking secrets would be revealed?

There’s never a dull moment as this tale unfolds like an origami pink elephant! Once again, Ms. Pamfiloff had me from page one!

I just love a Mimi Jean Pamfiloff book. This one was no exception. This book had it all, snarky, mysterious, some romance and a 400 year old vampire named Michael. I am ready for the next installment now! Thank you for letting me read and review this novel. I am now going to go back and read books 1 and 2!

Absolutely freakin AWESOME!!!! This just gets better and better, every single word has me hooked. I closet read, potty read, and just lock myself away to finish this. The growth of the story is consuming, the unknown relationship of Michael and Miriam and hot damn that ending is incredible. I did not see that coming, but then to twist again was pure awesomeness by Mimi! I seriously can not wait for the next installment!

I will start by saying that while this is book 3, you could start your journey here and not feel lost. There are enough recaps to make sure you are not missing any important information. That said, the avid reader in me cringes at the very idea of starting at book 3 of series or serial. I would hate for any reader to miss the laughter, suspense and feels that are in the first two books so I highly recommend that you read in order. Now, let me get on with this review.

Michael and his vampire gang are back, along with Miriam and her library. Michael’s humor and ego help to keep things fun, even when burying bodies in the desert that must be transported in a highly unappreciated vehicle that takes a lot of abuse from Michael. Poor caca azul never gets the credit it is due for its reliability and eco-friendly carbon footprint.

There are new dangers and mysteries to be solved and Michael may be over his head with the weight of the world on his shoulders. To quote Night of the Comet, “The burden of civilization is upon us”. – Only it is not. It is on poor Michael who is forced to make all sorts of difficult choices with no clear good choice. How will he ever save the day without sacrificing his librarian? Why is he so drawn to his clumsy librarian and are his feelings genuine? Who is with him and who is against him? What is with the accent of Mr. Nice? Better yet, would readers need eye bleach if they ever saw him in his “essanem” getup? Find out on the next episode of Soap. Wait, that is wrong and I am pretty sure there aren’t too many people that even know where that joke came from. The answers you seek can only be found in the third installment of The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant.

I loved this book. I laughed, I gasped, I “awwwwed” at Michael’s statement – “I didn’t even slay an enemy or bury any bodies in the desert for her today- the sort of thing that tells a woman how much you care”. I absolutely adore Mr. Nice in all his insanity and I want to be Miriam when I grow up. I enjoyed trying to solve the mystery before the characters. My accuracy was hit and miss, but it was a lot of fun trying. If anyone is still reading this, stop and just go buy the book.

The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant #3 is a hilarious supernatural mystery that will have you laughing throughout the book all while wondering who kidnapped the council and has decided to start a civil war? This book is a standalone although I do recommend the first 2 books in this series because they are just as entertaining!

Michael Vanderhorst, a 400 year-old vampire who looks like a college student, is back with his merry band of vampire misfits. This endearing vampire is embroiled in yet another mystery. It will take all of his wit, charm, and his 400 years of vast experience as an assassin, a barber, etc to solve it all while lusting after his librarian, Miriam.

True to this author’s other works, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff created an entraining storyline with a full cast of fun and delightful characters whose antics will leave you in stitches. Her LVA series falls more into the cozy mystery genre, but with a nice vampire flair and a smattering of romance thrown in. I love Michael in that he is sweet, albeit a bit goofy, charming, and lovingly clueless when it comes to his librarian. His sarcastic wit and the way the author portrays his thoughts will leave you laughing out loud.

The secondary characters really make the book as well. I love just how quirky and clumsy Miriam is and how feisty Michael’s side kick Lula is. Mr. Nice. Oh what can I tell you about that ancient, wacky, and slightly disturbing vampire other than he is something else entirely. In addition to all of the humor, I really enjoyed the mystery in this book with its plot twists and wondering who exactly Michael can trust. There were a few little things that I didn’t see coming and I liked watching Michael trying to work things out with his Miriam. The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant # 3 is a fast-paced mystery/comedy with fun characters and an entertaining storyline. If you liked the previous books in this series or any of this author’s other works, then you will definitely enjoy this book. I received LVA#3 for free and I am looking forward to the future books in this series.

THE LIBRARIAN'S VAMPIRE ASSISTANT is the third book in the Librarian's Vampire Assistant series. This is a mystery involving the same two main characters as the previous books but it IS a STANDALONE with a complete storyline! You can jump right into the series here and start reading.

Michael Vanderhorst is a four hundred year old vampire. As with all vampires, he has to keep his true nature hidden from humans. His disguise? A twenty something college student, working part time as a librarian's assistant. But somehow, Michael has become more like Miriam's bodyguard than her assistant and he's more than happy to accommodate her. Unfortunately, her life is in danger yet again. The entire council has gone missing, making Michael the king of the vamps and Miriam a target. Can he protect her and keep his identity a secret?

At the request of the author, I'll keep the details of the plot hush, hush! Instead, let me tell you that I absolutely adored the cast of characters. Michael was hilarious, he had such a quirky sense of humor and still there were times when you could glimpse his deadly nature and be reminded that yes...Michael is a blood sucking vampire! He wasn't all together hip but he was trying to ACT young, which made the circumstances even more funny. Miriam was a complete surprise! Was she mousey? Nerdy? A tad uptight? Yup! But let's just say, she has her own secrets to keep and the twist that's thrown into Michael and Miriam's already complicated relationship will take it to a whole other level.

This is a short, easy, FUN, romantic mystery. In the end, the mystery gets solved but a new mystery awaits this oddball couple! Told entirely from Michael's POV with a happily unsure ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

She’s done it again! Another wonderful Librarian’s Vampire Assistant book.

Book 3 is the latest Michael and Miriam story. Michael is a 400-year-old vampire and assistant to human librarian Miriam. I could not put this book down. I loved this romantic comedic mystery and it had me laughing out loud. As expected from a book by Mimi, this book contained story twists that were unexpected and kept me anxiously awaiting what would happen next.

Her characters are so unique, quirky, and imperfect, they are easy to relate to and become engrossed in their thoughts and feelings. While written from Michael’s point of view, all of her characters, even the secondary characters, are so unusual and engaging.

This book can be read standalone without having read the previous two. I can’t wait till the next book!!!

An hilarious book 3 that has intrigue, a whole lot of fun and delightful twists that
had me enthralled right through to the last page. The mystery had me guessing and just when you think you’ve got it, another surprise came along...I never saw that one coming. And the characters were amazing, Mr Nice was hilariously outrageous as he determinedly chased after his food of choice and his love, Michael was clear in his mission, he’s just pretty tired of having to hide it from his precious librarian.
A terrific read. Brilliantly written, lots of laughs, I loved it!

Mystery solved! Well, most of it anyway. The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant, Book 3 answered tons of questions, had exciting plot twists of course, and even had some hot romance for our reading pleasure. Mimi Jean Pamfiloff’s zany humor paired up perfectly with the more emotional, (somewhat) serious side of our eclectic cast in this latest installment.

I always have a blast reading MJP’s books but this particular series–and especially our hero, Michael Vanderhorst–is right up there among my favorites of her work so far. The blend of intriguing mystery with paranormal characters and sensual romance is a combination that works so well together. And boy did it make this a page-turner. Read More

Michael and Miriam are back! I feel so invested in their story by now, I was so happy to see that their romance was finally happening.

Quick reminder, at the end of Book #2, Michael has been made King of the Vampires since they are planning on going to war. He makes immediate plans to protect his sweet librarian, Miriam.

Book #3 continues with the hilarious inner monologues, OTT yet not annoyingly quirky events and characters, and we get the addition of some sweet romance.

FINALLY! MICHAEL AND MIRIAM 4EVA!

No spoilers, but I will say that we get answers to quite a few questions, yet more are raised. Not a cliffhanger, per se, but more of a story continuation to come. Can’t wait to find out what happens next with Michael and his librarian.

The story gets better and better, funnier, faster paced, even a bit steamy, and a whole lot of unexpected and unpredictable. And the hommage to books, libraries and librarians continues and it is absolutely beautiful. This book is less tough on the characters than the previous one, and it is so incredibly funny.
So much of the story gets resolved and in a very interesting way, however, the new mysterious and unexpected only gets resolved partially, as the author promises a continuation of the series, and I love her for it. Sexual frustration and tension is off the charts, especially with the addition of the new interested party. That was probably the funniest part of the whole story.
Michael remains Michael and I love him so much. He is just so focused on his values and ideas that he remains completely oblivious of what is happening around him. That puts him in all kinds of awkward situations every single time. Hilarious. And then there is Miriam, the inadvertently sexy librarian with her sexy book collection and all kinds of signed first editions. And there is inevitable Mr. Nice, who I love and adore most of all. He is without comparison, the funniest character ever written. I would love to read The Memoirs of Mr. Nice, that would be something else.
By now, I'm a total goner for this author and it is just a matter of time before I start binging on her other books. This series is so fantastic, and I love it so much, I can't wait to see what else she has written while I wait for the next book in the series.
This is book three in the series. The books make most sense when read in order.

Michael Vanderhorst is now King of all the vampires. Yay? The council has been kidnapped including Nice. Miriam is in danger like always, he's not sure who to trust, between all of that and still trying to figure out the who and the why of it all, chocolate is in order. But one thing is for sure when it comes to a Mimi book expect it all and then some...... and then some more after that. Will Michael find out who is behind this latest happening, can the best way to protect Miriam is by marry her and making her Queen and will she believe him when he tells her the truth?

LVA3 had me laughing through out the whole book, wondering who was the Big Bad in this story and cheering for Miriam (that's a Keep Reading btw). Every single Mimi book is addictive in a way that it makes you want more and help Mr. Nice keep her in that basement cranking more out at vampire pace. Its how she builds these worlds that has sassy, strong, sometimes accident prone, smart, witty female leads, OMG moments, HOLY HOTNESS (Michael, Guy, King, Rook, etc), leather pants and chocolate being crack for Vampires.

Read this book. Get sucked into the world of Vampires that don't glitter, where spicy food is a must, a 400 yr old Vampire known as the Executioner has fallen for a very klutzy, danger prone librarian, and tale of the Caca Azul. You know a Mimi book.

Firstly, my thanks to Mimi and her team for the ARC copy of this, the third book in this enthralling series. Secondly, how cool was it to see my name in print!! Thanks guys for that surprise!

No spoiler, ARC copy review....

Well. From originally not feeling a lot toward Michael, I have certainly changed my mind! I love who "Mike" is becoming. He is evolving more with every book, and is now able to be more himself.
I have to take back what I said in my review of book one about Miriam, being so sweet and honest! Oh how the tables turn! I knew there was more to her than meets the eye, and I think so did Michael, that's why he was so drawn to her. So much mystery, and why is she so sick now? then we have the mystery ending of where has she gone, will she rescue herself, or will Michael be there to save the day?

And Nice!! What has happened to my Mr, Nice? Poor man having a Psychotic moment, and losing the plot like that! I still love him!
So much going on in this story, with Michael being made King of the vampires, and him questioning why him?

So many crazy quotes and awesome snort time times in this hilarious Mimi version of the eternal Vampire story. I started cackling on page one and didn't look back!

Fantastic story that is only getting better as it progresses, well done!!

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is an automatic read for me because she always manages to create a story that is humorous, interesting, fun, and with some great romance chemistry. All things that are present in this third installment of the Librarian's vampire assistant.

You can technically read all of the books as a standalone but I honestly think you should read one and two in the series before you read three.

Michael is an old vampire. Like 4oo years old, and he's been annointed the new head vampire King after his maker disappeared. Only he's got some things to figure out. Like, who's been decimating other vampires? And on top of that, he's in love with his very human boss, Miriam the librarian. THough she doesn't know he's a vampire, yet. Or does she? Or will she even believe him if he comes clean?

The story takes us on a whirlwind as Michael and Miriam take their relationship to a new level, and Michael uncovers mysteries behind the disappearing vampires.

It's everything we love about Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Great chemistry, intriguing storyline, and humor. And of course, Ms. Pamfiloff leaves us wanting more. Good thing she's got several series and is a prolific writer. Romance lovers, you can't go wrong with her books.

ARC REVIEW

Book three jumps right in where book two left off. For newcomers they might be a little lost when they first start the book but Michael's narration plays well and he recaps in his own way while trying to figure out the mystery plot. It's not a true cliffhanger at the end either, the big mystery is solved but she leaves it wide open for another book (one she must write as quickly as possible!!!!)

Mimi continues to write comical and zanie hijinks for Michael and the moment we have all been waiting for has finally happened. Mr. Nice is his usual 80's goth band vampire self only this time he has developed a fascination with Miriam. Micheal not knowing who to trust has started to make unpredictable decision but it doesn't seem to matter where ever he goes there are traders in the shadows.

Overall, Mimi once again takes us on quite a ride as the story continues and doesn't seem to lose it's momentum, from start to finish it's non-stop vampire hijinks, double dealings, and incomprehensible lisping. Twists and turns, red herrings and misdirection make this vampire mystery one I didn't even bother trying to guess because I knew I would be wrong. A fantastically funny and mysterious read, I loved it.

Michael Vanderhorst is out to solve another mystery or two, after all that’s what detectives or kings, um I mean Librarian’s Assistants do right? This time King Mikey is trying to find out where all his territory leaders are disappearing to so he can restore order to the fanged world and avoid a nasty vamp/human war that would be a no win for the walking talking blood bags. He’s also trying to deny his growing feelings for his adorably frumpy and clueless librarian Miriam while trying to keep her protected in the oncoming kerfuffle. How on earth can he do that when she doesn’t know anything more about his world than his cover story allows? Will he finally have his Fanged Love themed wedding and make Mr. Nice a happy vampy? And the mystery that I’ve been waiting to find out, what’s in that vault???

So, Michael puts his thinking cap on and hops aboard his trusty blue sidekick to save his librarian and the world.

I loved this mystery and eagerly await the next. This book moves quickly, never a dull moment and tons of snarky humor and plot twists. Can you solve the mysteries before Michael?

The Librarian's Vampire Assistant book 3 picks up with jaded 400 year old vampire, Michael Vanderhorst finally confessing to his precious librarian Miriam Murphy, that he is a vampire only to be met with laughter and then anger as she feels he went too far in his bid to get her to accept his "joke." He's in the doghouse with Miriam and they are tiptoeing around each other. Now a war is brewing, and he has no way to protect her unless he marries her to make her his queen and afford her the protection of his guards as he struggles to figure out what happened to the entire vampire council and where hundreds of powerful vampires might have vanished to. Who are the vampires working behind the scenes to destroy the society that they fought so hard amongst themselves to build and WHY? Entertaining

I think that I grin all the time while reading a Mimi Jean Pamfiloff book. Most of them are just so darn much fun. Even the darker books have their moments. The Librarian's Vampire Assistant Book 3 has a lot going on. Michael's inner dialogue is downright laugh out loud funny. With the mantle of King thrust upon him, he is juggling so many things that something is bound to fall. Miriam's safety is his top priority even though the fate of the vampire world should be. Michaels nemesis, the blue car, is back, much to his consternation. The weird Mr. Nice is back too. Miriam has a few surprises for Michael and they may not all be good ones. Duplicity and deception seem to be the order of the day and now Michael, along with Miriam's help, must work to solve the puzzle end stop an all out war.

Michael and his librarian are drawn closer together in this next installment of the series.

Michael, an old and somewhat arrogant vampire, is brought to his knees by the clumsy, adorably nerdy Miriam. Both are keeping secrets, however, and when those secrets come to light, all hell breaks loose.

This story is filled with quirky, vividly drawn characters. Michael is protective, possessive, arrogant and is also loving and loyal. Miriam can find ways to trip over her own shoelaces, is a true bookworm and yet is attractive and loving in her own way.

As they learn how to be honest with each other, they will need to put their differences aside and trust each other in order to defeat the big bad coming after them.

A raucous and amusing love story. Five enthusiastic stars for this paranormal mystery/romance.

While this is book 3 in the series you can read it without reading books 1 or 2 since Mimi does a fantastic job of bringing you up to speed but seriously, why would you want to skip over reading them?

Michael is a 400 plus year old vampire that has finally met his match with a clumsy librarian of all people. Can he trust his love for her when he finds out her secrets but better yet can he trust the people or rather vampires that he has known for longer than most people have been alive when things start going wrong once again? Answers are given as to who is heading the vampire army while just as many questions are left unanswered. Already anxiously awaiting book 4.

While I was given an ARC by the author it did not affect my review. I simply love her writing and all her books!

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Oh.My.Goodness. There are so many curve balls in this book and i never saw ANY of them coming!

Things with Michael and Miriam were left at an interesting place in the last book and everything is cleared up in this book with more twists and turns that you can think of. Seriously the book is full paced, keeps taking you in the wrong direction, then surprising you.

Both Miriam and Michael band together to get to the bottom of our ongoing mystery and everything is certainly solved eventually, we get to see more antics from the eccentric vampire that is Mr Nice, he certainly adds a comedy splash into the mix.

I really enjoyed this book, in fact this entire series was just brilliant and i am really hoping that the author will find something else up her sleeve in order to write more books in the series.
