Great solid reference for building a 2018-2019 gaming rig, that's not too far off from where we are in early 2020. (Actually has an RTX-2080 build). The best thing about a reference like this is the "why's", even more than the "how's", as well as the explanations of terms and acronyms. Nice section on overclocking CPU, GPU, and Memory. Has a section on troubleshooting, "What to do when your build just doesn't work". It IS a Haynes manual! For those who don't know exactly what that means --- reliability of information, and, enough step-by-step with pictures that you shouldn't encounter too much difficulty applying it to your particular situation.
Solid guide for beginners. Interesting advice specific for gamers, but I think is a worth while read for any PC builder.
Mentions Windows vs Linux, which was great but it leaves a lot to be desired on the Linux front. All screenshots of software past that point are running on Windows and practically no mention of Linux after those few pages.
High quality photos though dispersed throughout, which makes a dull read about hardware more exciting.
May be a tad out of date as it was written in 2019 but for the most part, most components stated were still solid picks. The advice on actual building stand up to this day.
