Not my style but it may be yours though the "preacher" does say "son of a ---" and there was another comment that made me uncomfortable.

A story of a cop who was to testify against a major crime leader. He was sent to this little town to be a preacher ( pretend to) so he could hide out till time for him to testify at the guys trial. He got close to the church secretary after awhile and she figured out what he was hiding from her about him being in a witness protection program. Time came to go back to testify And she didn't want him to go by his self. But the FBI refused to let her go along because it was to dangerous. What does she do?

Connected short stories

This is 5 short stories that have the same main characters and are contiguous in time. Can't call it a novel, just 5 adventures of Tony and Stephanie. Short and simple. I smiled at Tony being pulled up the side of the building by a wench (rather than a winch). Very few tables will stop bullets. Fires are started easily. Solutions are quick and simple. Was this 5 half hour tv plots? Thornburg is an educator?- "was he putting himself physically between Stephanie and I".

Great FBI thriller

This was a cute story about a guy who just couldn't stay out of trouble. Peter and Stephanie solved so many crimes. They would definitely make a good detective team . I thought the ending kind of left you up in the air. Maybe the next book picked up.
