Dr. Judith Lucci is an Amazon bestselling author who writes what she knows. She is the author of the Alex Destephano Medical Thriller Series and the soon to be released Michaela McPherson, Private Eye, a series centered on a retired homicide detective from Richmond, Virginia who really can’t retire.

“Before I wrote fiction, I was an academic writer who published research, theoretical works, text books and just about anything a nurse or college professor needed to publish to survive. The differences in academic writing and writing fiction are dramatic. Writing what I know propels me to pull from my clinical experiences, some good, some not and use popular fiction as a means to teach and advocate for others. My books have three purposes, to engage the reader, to entertain them and to educate about healthcare and perhaps, the darker side of hospital life.

I am a nurse and hold graduate and doctoral degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia. I have always been a reader and a writer and I love it. I am a member of the Virginia Writers Club, The Shenandoah Valley Writers and Sisters in Crime.

Radical Regatta by Anna Celeste Burke was quick easy read with likable characters and adorable pets. Brien and Kim get involved because Brien rescues a dog one morning while sitting on the beach with Father Bede Greco. The plot was quickly paced and pretty straight forward but the characters added humor and some twists to the story. The ending was spine chilling but worth it! I loved Archie and Pepe (he's going to be a handful for Brien and Kim)the new pet additions to Kim and Brien's lives.

A great anthology that has (bother it!) added some more authors to be ever increasing TBR list!

We have cats, dogs, a horse and recipes (at the end which makes it easier). As with any multi author anthology there are some stories I preferred over others. some of them seemed to end a touch sharpish! Some were longer than others, so if you like animals and cozy mysteries there will, undoubtedly, be some thing in here for you to enjoy, and the fact that they help support animal rescue is just the icing on the cake (or maybe the biscuit in the bowl!). Try it out I suspect you will enjoy it! (it took me two days to read the whole lot which shows how much I enjoyed it at least!), this is a 3.8 to 4 star rating, only because there were some I didn't enjoy as much!

My reviews of the first three Summer Snoops Unleashed Books
The Most Glittery Crime of the Year by Judith Lucci. The first book's mystery and the added history are a hit. I could have done without LauraLea's bickering, but I like being in Lily's head. Oh and wine slushies, why have I never heard of that? Those have to be the biggest hit ever. Although, my favorite is Vino the wine dog. Yes, he drinks wine. They even have a sign up like "don't feed the animals" except their sign reads "don't give our dog wine.' Super sweet.

four-stars

Radical Regatta! by Anna Celeste Burke is a fabulous cozy mystery with a couple as sleuths. The local police detective calls them Gidget and Moondoggie because he is a surfer and she is learning to surf. This book not only has a dog named Archie but also a parrot named Pepe who is multilingual. The dog and the parrot play together and are the best of friends. I enjoyed the way the couple worked together and watched each other's backs.

five-stars

Fireworks, Forensics, and Felonies by Colleen Mooney is a great story with another couple crime-fighting duo. This story is different but I also enjoyed it. The whole part about not wanting to tell your mom you are engaged was pretty hilarious. I like the added lawyer side along with the friends on the force aspect.

five-stars

If I have time I will add to these reviews. You never know when you can fit in a quick summer read. This is for a good cause and $0.99 for 14 books is a steal. This is a review for Radical Regatta (Corsario Cove Cozy Mystery #4) by Anna Celeste Burke

Kim and Brien are at the beach, with Father Bede Greco, when Brien spots something in the water. That something, turns out to be a dog, and Brien saves it. Bonnie Wilcox, the local vet, is called.

Thinking that the owners are in town for the Fourth of July event, Kim and Brien focus on locating the owners. They head to the animal hospital, to see if Bonnie found a chip, and encounter a reporter hassling Bonnie. Despite the dog having a chip, the owners, Dr. and Mrs Elliot Mason, have been unreachable. Bonnie agrees to allow Kim and Brien to foster the dog, until the owners are contacted.

While at the animal hospital, Brien goes head to head with Pepe, a parrot who speaks colorful Spanish. After Pepe asks Brien in Spanish, if he likes marijuana, Brien inquires if mota is weed, which promptly sets Pepe off.

Kim and Brien end up fostering the dog, and get word that there were two men arguing on the beach, one with a dog, who pulled out a gun. Bede, discloses what he learned about Dr. Mason. With Dr. Mason and his wife, Angela, missing, a reporter asking nosy questions, and unanswered questions Kim and Brien start snooping.

I absolutely loved the dog and Pepe! Pepe has just the right amount of sass that makes him endearing! Fast paced and entertaining story!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from the boxset series.

Anna Celeste Burke's story," Radical Regatta",is #4 in her terrific Corsario Cove series. This story is included in the Summer Snoops Unleashed: 14 Furr-ocious Mysteries and Cozy Crimes set coming out on July 23rd. Loved the wonderful characters, especially Brien- the brave dog rescuer, Pepe the sassy parrot (What a hoot), and Archie- the rescued dog, is darling. The mystery jumps out at the start , racing along with twists and turns to the end. What an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon!

My review is for Death in Mercy by Susan Boles. This book is a prequel to her Lily Gayle Lambert Mystery Series. I have read and enjoy all four books in the Lily Gayle Lambert series and I was very excited to hear that a prequel was included in this wonderful anthology. The backdrop of the story is the planning for the St. Patrick's Day Shamrocks and Shenanigans party. There is a murder mystery, southern charm, laughs, and sleuthing. This is 5 stars!

To continue the series, check out Death of a Wolfman Book 1 in the Lily Gayle Lambert Mystery Series.

Radical Regatta is one of the stories in this Summer Snoops Unleashed: 14 Furr-ocious Mysteries and Cozy Crimes box set that support pet charities.

Out on the water prove to be a deadly place for someone. Once again the writer gives us a cozy thriller that takes place on the beach. A quick read with a lovable dog and murder involved.

This is a review for Radical Regatta (Corsario Cove Cozy Mystery #4) by Anna Celeste Burke.

Kim and Brien and Father Bede Greco are at the beach. Brien spotted something in the water. It's a dog. Brien rescues it. He and Kim become foster parents to the dog since the owners are not responding to phone calls from the animal hospital. The dog had a chip so the owners could be found. Other people seem to be after the dog. Attempts are made on Brien and Kim's lives. Archie the dog and Pepe the parrot add fun to the story.

The plot is well constructed. Well written with twists. Fast paced. Interesting characters.

Have read the book Radical Regatta in this collection and a review for that book. Easy fun read. Love Anna's books. Kim and Brien are as quirky as ever as their side kicks are too. They have fostered a dog, Archie and Pepe, the talking parrot. Of course there are murders to solve, which they do but get into a lot of trouble on the way. Highly recommend! Have now read Jewel Heist by Judith Lucci and it gets a thumbs up!! This is the 3rd book in the Artsy Chicks series and is as good as the first two. Easy fun to read cozy mystery. Lily and Lauralea do not disappoint with their antics. Good twist in the end as to who the murderer is. Judith is a favorite author of mine and she has done it again; wrote a truly enjoyable read. Highly recommend.

Sam Cheever: Spunky Bumpkin
Book 3 in the series, my second in this one. It is a really cute fast read in a cozy mystery. Like animals then you will like this one, has dogs. I like this series too. Need to go back and read book one.

The problem is that the most unlike person in town is murder. The mother of the cop to investigate is found with weapon in hand and with body. Her dog has been 'poison'. What can a police officer do? Ask for help from friends. Here is the rub: the victim is so unlike by everyone in town, so they all could possibly have a motive. How to find the real killer?

I am a little late getting this done because I was given the privileged of reading a beta of the author's new series. Yipee.

This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

Emily Selby: Death and Taxes on a Cloud A Career Crisis Cafe book
Honored to have read a beta copy. Thank you.

Story reminds me of a locked room type mystery. Reminds Heather (the character) of a famous author's book. She does try to reread that book to see what is triggering her. Warning: watch trail you follow. I did not get it till the end.

Quick fast easy to read. Animals are a dog and cat

Chelsea Thomas: A Knead to Kill
The girls travel out of state to a bake off. Guess what happens? Chelsea goes for a swim and what does she com across - a dead body. Now she must clear her name.

This is a a short story in the series or what they call a novella. Fast easy to read and fun as all the rest of the books are in the regular series. Highly recommended. The animal is a cat in this story.

This is my honest and freely given review (s). I did receive an ARC book(s).

Overall. I give the box set 4 Stars. I definitely recommend reading Summer Snoops Unleashed.

***The Most Glittery Crime of the Year: The Jewel Heist by Judith Lucci---5 Stars
Lily and LauraLea are back in the latest story in the Artzy Chicks series. A murder occurs near the gallery and they were the last people known to have seen the victim alive. Things turn really serious when Vino finds hidden treasure and someone is out to get it away from Lily before she hands it over to the police. With several red herrings and a couple of twists, this story will keep you entertained from beginning to end.

***Radical Regatta by Anna Celeste Burke---5 Stars
Kim and Brien are back in a new, fun read in the Corsario Cove series. Brien may be the local hero after rescuing a drowning dog but someone isn't happy about the situation. Kim, Brian, Bede, and Detective Mitchum are once again trying to stay ahead of the villains as they work to solve the mystery of who tried to kill Archie. Pepe brings a lot of humor to the story and I look forward to his future antics. There is plenty of action and intrigue that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could.

***Fireworks, Forensics, and Felonies by Colleen Mooney---4 Stars
This is the latest addition to the New Orleans Go Cup Chronicles series. Brandy and Jiff find themselves caught up in a far-reaching criminal investigation when friends of Jiff are apparently killed in a house explosion/fire and a fireworks explosion. Even though I knew who was responsible, it didn't detract from the story. I was hooked waiting to see how the criminals would be caught. The timeline, however, was off and that bothered me.

***Yours by Fiona Quinn---3 Stars
This isn't a typical cozy. Kate spends the story trying to find the owner of a found watch and dealing with problems surrounding her marriage to Ryan. There was some deep subject matter (traumatic brain injuries in vets and suicide) but it didn't drag the story down. A body was found of a woman missing for 2 years but the body was preserved enough to be easily identified, no explanation of why searchers(including SAR dogs) never found the body, how she died, etc. The ending came out of nowhere. Just all of a sudden, the mystery was solved.

***Pies, Lies and a Last Goodbye by Maria Grazia Swan---2 Stars
This is just a weird story. Monica is about as mature as a middle schooler. She's in lust with a married man, Tristan. He said things over the phone indicating he is interested in her before his wife goes missing. Then we get a subplot tied in with Tristan that seems far-fetched. Then a surprise reveal at the end and Monica's strange reaction to it. There were so many grammatical and punctuation errors, too.

***You Can’t Judge a Crime by its Aura by Kelly Hashway---5 Stars
An enjoyable read about Piper, a psychic PI, and Mitchell, a police detective solving a murder with help from Maddie, an author, and her fiancé, Trevor. This is a blending of 2 series by this author. This is the first story I've read by this author but I look forward to reading more of her books.

***Yankee Doodle Deadly by Kim Hunt Harris---4 Stars
An entertaining story with a diverse cast of quirky characters. Salem and her good friend Viv are determined to find out who committed murder at Belle Court--a senior retirement living complex. I look forward to reading more in this series.

***Death In Mercy by Susan Boles---3 Stars
This story was moving along okay and then out of nowhere the murder is solved. I don't really understand why the murderer killed the guy. I also think the assault that occurred was a bit far-fetched.

***Sharpe Pain | A Corpse in the Cabin by Lisa B. Thomas---4 Stars
With a cast of unique characters who aren't all what they appear to be, this was an enjoyable story. I have to admit, I didn't guess who the murderer was before it was revealed.

***Death and Taxes on a Cloud by Emily Selby---4 Star
An interesting story with twists and turns that kept me interested from page one. The murderer/reason for the murder were a surprise but made sense.

***Ruff Justice by Joanna Campbell Slan---4 Stars
This was not a typical cozy. There was no crime to solve until the very end. Then the solution to the crime simply fell into their hands without them trying to figure it out. In spite of that, this was an entertaining story

***High Heel Homicide by Ava Mallory---2 Stars
A weird story. Holly is approached by a strange man, asks no details concerning his job offer, and simply quits her job and flies off across the country. Are there really people that naïve? Holly never tried to solve the crime so it wasn't really a cozy. There were so many grammar and punctuation errors, as well as the names kept changing, that it was totally distracting.

***A Knead To Kill by Chelsea Thomas---3 Stars
There are plenty of quirky characters and strange happenings in this story. Chelsea, Miss May, and Teeny set out to find a killer at a baking contest in VT and prove Chelsea didn't do it. The characters were a bit immature/naïve.

***Spunky Bumpkin by Sam Cheever---5 Stars
An entertaining story from start to finish. There were plenty of suspects and motives to hold my attention as the story unfolded. This was my first Country Cousins Mystery but I look forward to reading more of this series.

This is a review for Radical Regatta (Corsario Cove Cozy Mystery #4) by Anna Celeste Burke from the Summer Snoops Unleashed: 14 Furr-ocious Mysteries and Cozy Crimes boxed set.

Kim and Brien are on the beach with Father Bede Greco, when Brien spots something in the water. He rushes in and discovers that it is a dog desperately trying to swim to shore. He rescues it and the local vet, Bonnie Wilcox, is called to the scene. She takes the dog to the animal hospital to be thoroughly checked out. Kim and Brien go to see the dog and find out if it has a microchip. Once at the vet’s they find her being harassed by a shady reporter. They soon determine that the dog has a chip and the owners are Dr. and Mrs. Elliot Mason. Brien goes head to head with Pepe, a parrot, who speaks colorful Spanish. After Pepe asks Brien in Spanish, if he likes marijuana, Brien inquires if mota is weed, which promptly sets Pepe off. Pepe was abandoned by his owner at the vets and she thinks the owner dealt in drugs. Kim and Brien focus their attention on finding the owners which they believe to be in town for the Fourth of July Regatta events. But so far they have been unreachable after several unsuccessful attempts. Since no one has been able to contact the owners, Kim and Brien end up fostering the dog which they name Archie.

They soon discover that there were two men arguing on the beach, one with a dog, who pulled out a gun. This could have been Archie and her owner, but no one has seen Dr. Mason since he and his wife checked into their hotel. Add in the break in at the vets and more chaos is in the mix when Pepe comes to stay with Brien and Kim. They find out that someone is after a collar the Archie was wearing when he was rescued but no one can find. Their home has just become a playground for the two who enjoy creating a mess while the couple is away.

Bede discloses what he learned about Dr. Mason to them. Then an international thief turns up dead with possible links to Dr. Mason and his wife, Angela. Has the duo taken on more than they can handle? Will the local authorities believe the connections they have found and find out what really happened to the Mason’s? There are quite a few twists and turns in this delightful cozy mystery that the author has thrown in to keep us on our toes.

I absolutely loved Archie and Pepe, their antics were so much fun to read about! This is a fast paced and entertaining cozy mystery! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from the boxset series.

3 1/2 stars for A Knead To Kill by Chelsea Thomas

I have read only one book from this anthology: A Knead To Kill by Chelsea Thomas.

This is a short story meant to be part of a mystery box set issued to raise money for charity. It’s a cute story about three women who are repeatedly placed in the position of needing to solve murders. This is the first of this author’s works that I’ve read. The story itself presents a good mystery. Unfortunately, the push towards comedy doesn’t always work. The authors try much too hard to get laughs from bad jokes and puns. Also, I find it hard to believe that the character of Teeny can possibly run a successful restaurant. She’s far too scatterbrained, and her character adds little to this story. I also had a hard time figuring out if she was Miss May’s friend or Chelsea’s. At one point, she’s referred to as “our friend.” Later as “my aunt and her friend.” In the end, it made little difference as she didn’t seem like either Miss May or Chelsea would search out a friend like Teeny.

I liked Miss May a lot, and Chelsea, the lead character, was okay. Chelsea seemed to be the one who constantly discovers dead bodies and then investigates. In this book, she winds up as the chief suspect and must investigate to clear herself.

It’s an okay summer read and will work well in the box set. By itself, it’s just okay. However, I would be willing to read another book by this author.

I received this book for free from the author via Book Sprout. I thank her for her generosity; however, it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review express my honest reactions to reading this book.

14 Cozy mysteries with animals playing a role in the mysteries...
This is a review of the some of the books I had received as an ARC:
"Spunky Bumpkin", by Sam Cheever.
Joey is a fairly ordinary woman, except for a penchant to find dead bodies. This time, though, her friend Arno, a deputy, finds his mother with a bloody knife over a dead man. Said man was known and hated all over town as a sociopath and animal hater. Now Joey and her boyfriend Hal, PI and former police officer, try to solve the murder and of course prove that Arno's mother is innocent.
The story is catching, well-written and not too cliché, a nice mix of light romance and thrill of the hunt plus danger to our heroes.
"A Knead to Kill"
Chelsea and Miss Mae, her aunt, are known in their little town to be good sleuths and bringing criminals down. But this time they are on vacation, to a bake-off with a celebrity judge. Only the day of their arrival coincides with the death of said judge - and as Chelsea discovered the body she is a suspect. So it is back onto a new murder case for the duo.
I was not so happy with the story, as it held some inconsistencies within the story, nor did I really appreciate the writing style - it reminded me of my children writing stories as children, full of excitement, but a little naive and with limited word choices.
The story itself has potential, but lacked a good execution

An Artzy Chicks Mystery
by Judith Lucci

There's a great set of characters in this mystery story including Lily Lucci, writer of mysteries,, thrillers, and crime books and LauraLea (aka the Diva) who owns the Artisans Gallery and their friends and neighbors as well as their collection of pet dogs. Lily seems to always be in the middle of things while LauraLea is there as her right hand.

Being a mystery writer, Lily has decided to get involved in finding a killer putting herself in danger. There's something constantly happening as the murderer is looking for a bag of stolen jewelry and thinks that Lily has it.

There's plenty of action and suspense to keep your attention. I was able to read it in just a few hours as it was hard to put down. I look forward to reading other books in the Artzy Chicks Cozy Mystery Collection.

Radical Regatta
by Dr. Anna Celeste Burke

This book is full of interesting characters from Brien and Kim, the Moondoggie and Gidget surfing couple, to international criminals, millionaires and billionaires, quirky pets Archie and Pepe, and much more to stimulate a reader’s interest. Throw in a couple of murders to really step up the pace of the story and you will want to keep reading.

I recommend this book for a thrills and chills to liven up your day.

A Knead to Kill
by Chelsea Thomas

This is another great cozy mystery with the usual characters Chelsea, Miss May, and Teeny who will keep you reading to the end. The threesome are in the middle of another murder investigation while attending the Vermont Bake-off. The three women dive in despite being warned off the case by Detective Luke James.

These characters are as enjoyable as always, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I only received one story from this collection: Spunky Bumpkin by Sam Cheever.

I really all of Sam Cheevers stories. The characters are well written and Ms. Cheever portrays a realistic small town atmosphere that extends to the characters as well.

Spunky Bumpkin has characters that you'll fall in love with, along with a big lovable Pitty and one bi-polar cat. Add an intriguing, many layered mystery with many twists and turns, and at least one surprising revelation and you have a cozy mystery with all the basics of a full length book: murder, romance, people good and bad.

Since Joey has a tendency for people to drop dead, practically at her feet, she's now working with her boyfriend, PI Hal.  Unexpectedly, they get a call from the Chief of Police, Arno.  He needs their help, his mother's dog is poisoned, and he's had to arrest his mother for killing her neighbor.

A great series and I look forward to reading about what happens next to Joey and Hal. I kept turning the pages to see what was going to happen next so I'm giving this story five stars. I recommend this series and author to anyone who enjoys a good, cozy mystery.

The Summer Snoops Collection is a fun bunch of cozies, with some cute and cool critters as sidekicks or other associates. Animal rescue is a great cause, and I especially enjoy reading new materials from some favorite Cozy authors.

One trio that has captured my heart is from the Apple Orchard Mystery series. Their usual fuzzy companions include an adorable miniature horse. The story in this collection mentions a charming cat who walks his human for exercise.

Chelsea and Aunt May are on the road with Teeny at the Big Vermont Bake Off. Miss May wants the blue ribbon. Chelsea just wants a bit of a vacation and a nice swim. Too bad she finds the contest judge during her swim.

The ladies are part time sleuths in their hometown. Chelsea mentions her part time crush /police detective. Seems to be a bit of a jerk to me- more ego than heart.

Trouble seems to follow the trio around, and mayhem naturally ensues before the culprit is hand-cuffed.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout.

I ordered the Summer Snoops collection on Kindle months ago, as I am a big fan of several included authors, and regularly support animal rescue.

I’ve read Radical Regatta by Anna Celeste Burke. It was a wonderful read. The human characters are very interesting and some have names related to a movie and TV show. The main characters’ nicknames are Gidget and Moondoggie. One of the suspicious characters is Earl Gardner who is involved with Dr Mason.

The story grabs you quickly with Brien aka Moondoggie swimming out to rescue a dog that’s swimming for its life with no sign of its owner. Kim aka Gidget and Brien end of fostering the dog they name Archie. The Vet Clinic is ransacked as someone is looking for Archie and an Amazon Parrot name Pepe escapes and ends up at the cottage of Kim and Brien. Pepe was once owned by a drug lord and has an interesting vocabulary. It also seems to bond with Brien. The antics of the two animals together are some of my favorite parts of the story as they are both very clever.

There is an intriguing murder mystery filled with red herrings. The key characters are working together to try to solve it. I enjoyed meeting the characters which are part of the Cosario Cove Cozy Mystery Series.

I’m sure the other 13 stories will be well written as well!

This is a review for A Knead to Kill
Friends Miss May, Chelsea and Teena have left the town of Pine Grive to attend a baking competition that Miss May is hoping to win. Expecting perhaps a rivalry between the other contestants, what they don’t expect to find is the dead body of the Celebrity Judge. True he was rude and obnoxious and thought some of the contestants were “stale”, but who could have killed him? Not willing to let the contest be cancelled, the three set out to find the murderer. A quick read with a few suspects for you to pick the killer. I received an ARC of this book from Booksprout for my honest review.

It’s not a dog and pony show...but a lovable dog and salty mouth parrot! What’s not to like? This is a fast paced, fun read with cute animals, international criminals, yachts and murder. Just what you have learned to expect if you have read any other books by Anna Celeste Burke. This was the first book I read in the Summer Snoops Unleashed book. I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

I received A Knead to Kill as a separate book to review and it is part of this box set. This review is for that book only in the boxset.

I have loved the Apple Orchard series and was happy to see this little novella become available. This book can be read as a stand alone, but the stories do actually progress so I recommend starting at the beginning. Each book has a solid conclusion to its particular story line. I do not recommend reading them out of order if you choose to read the series. And believe me, you want to read the series.

The characters are comical. The situations they find themselves in is almost slapstick at times. They make me laugh, squirm in discomfort at the mischief they find themselves in. All in all, a really good read. There is mystery, comedy, and a great way to spend a few hours.

Written as a 1st person, single pov. No HEAs but a conclusion to the current situation they find themselves in.

Would I recommend this book? Yes

Would I read more from this author? Yes

[note:This review on 7/21/19 is about one of the books in the anthology :”Radical Regatta: Corsairo Cove #4” by Anna Celeste Burke.]

“It’s never good when the pace of dirty deeds picks up,” I said. “There’s no smooth sailing from here on out.”

Brien and Kim and their band of merry misfits are back with an additional extra added attraction or two: Archie and Pepe. Saving a swimming dog isn’t something you do every day; however, this dog may have a clue to an ongoing international crime ring. Add a rather bipolar, bilingual parrot named Pepe to the mix and the Reed-Willians household begins to burst at the seams!

Meanwhile, Archie’s owner(s) are missing from the resort and the story uncovered as the pieces fit together comes right out of the “Russian Mob’s” playbook. But why? Will greed win out? You’ll just have to get the anthology and find out. Highly Recommended 5/5

[I received a copy of this story from the author. The anthology will be published on 7/23/2019. I voluntarily read this story]

I can't say enough about this collection. I preordered a copy and was fortunate enough to receive some advances of a few of the stories from authors that I follow and read regularly. Of all the stories I read, particularly Spunky Bumpkin by Sam Cheever, Radical Regatta by Anna Celeste Burke, Yankee Doodle Deadly, by Kim Hunt Harris and A Knead to Kill by Chelsea Thomas, these are my very favorite. All of them have the most wonderful characters in well-written stories and without giving anything away, suffice it to say, there is something here for EVERY cozy lover. And besides that, what a wonderful, worthy cause. So, drop what you're doing, stop reading this and go ONE CLICK this amazing collection NOW.

Spunky Bumpkin
Small country towns the rumors run fast. Joey is a simple country girl who just happens to find bodies all over the place. Her parents died in a fiery crash and the person who caused the crash is after her as well.
Her friend has also arrested his own mother for murder and his mom can't remember anything, even though she was found standing over the body with a bloody knife. Joey, her boyfriend Hal and her trusty pitbull are determined to find out who the killer really is. After all this isn't the first time they've flushed out a killer. It's become second nature to them.

A fun to read cozy mystery that you won't want to put down.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of Radical Regatta and voluntarily leave an honest review.
Based on this book, number 4 in the series (I haven't read any others), I found this to be one of the better cozy mysteries around. The writing is smooth, the characters are good - a bit of surfer slang here and there adds to the atmosphere but isn't overwhelming - and the plot keeps you guessing but isn't based on confusing the reader. There was enough background provided (from the first books in the series) that I didn't feel lost. Nefarious bosses (criminal and otherwise), the introduction of a dog and a badass parrot, and quite a surprising ending make this a delight to read. I will definitely put this series on my list to read!
AND - I'm so happy I ordered this collection! It benefits good animal shelters and from the reviews the other stories are just as good to read!

This is a fun short mystery story written for the Summer Snoops Unleashed Anthology. Being a Fan of Chelsea Thomas' Apple Orchard series, I particularly enjoyed reading about the fun characters I enjoy. Chelsea, Miss May and Teeny head out to a bake-off in Vermont being judged by a cantankerous celebrity judge. When Chelsea finds him dead, floating in the pond, and becomes a suspect in his demise, she, Miss May and Teeny take it upon themselves to investigate the plethora of suspects in order for Chelsea to clear her name. Since this is in novella/short story size, you are given a page turner with red-herrings and wrong clues from the beginning. This is a fun short read and if you haven't read the Apple Orchard series by this author, then I highly recommend you pick it up now! I received and ARC from booksprout, but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own!

Miss May and Chelsea are at it again.
Miss May and Chelsea are at the Big Vermont Bake-off, but there would be more going on then baking. It took to almost the end before the murder comes to light. I like that in a mystery I liked the danger that the poor phone faced confused you hope so. I enjoyed the book and it is a cozy I would recommend you pick this one up if you like cozy mysteries. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

This is the only book of the collection I have read but if the other stories are like this one this is a great collection to check out.

I loved the idea of this book series because like the last set it helped the dogs and as a huge dog lover I jumped on the chance to buy these books because like the last set it offers you a chance to read amazing books and find new authors to read. The first book I was able to read was spunky bumpkin by Sam Cheever and this is the third book in this series and it was funny and awesome like all the rest of her books and then there is Knead to kill by Chelsea Thomas and this one was hilarious with miss may and teeny always a riot.

This is a review for A Knead to Kill by Chelsea Thomas

Chelsea, Miss May, and Teeny are taking a break and traveling to the Big Vermont bake-off. It is supposed to be a few days of baking, eating lots of bread, and possibly coming away a winner. But instead, Chelsea stumbles across the dead body of the judge and the local police are looking towards her as a suspect. Now it is up to Chelsea, Miss May, and Teeny to sort through the case, weed through the long list of suspects (the judge was a tyrant), and try to find the murderer before Chelsea finds herself behind bars.

As with the previous books in the series, this cozy mystery has the right combination of witty main characters/amateur sleuths, a good list of potential murder suspects, lots of madcap adventure, and a great storyline.
