Heartbreak: (noun) 1. Intense and overwhelming grief, especially through disappointment in love.
No one knows better than Kennedi Westbrook, that no amount of money, material possession, or success can protect one from the torment of a broken heart. She has always been haunted by the grief, disappointment and pain, forced upon her by those who should have loved her most; and sadly the two people closest to her have been added to her list of adversaries. Now, with her heart exposed and mental stability tested, will love be enough to save her sanity and relationships?
Life is not playing out the way Sydney had imagined. The chaos in Mitchell’s life, along with their new additions is not enough to win his heart. Still, she is not willing to give up her dreams of a two parent home for their babies, nor Mitchell’s love. Armed with a bag of treacherous tricks, Sydney might have the remedy to ensure she and her children will have the life she wants... or not.
What are the rules when the ones you are loyal to are no longer loyal to each other? Should you save yourself from your past, or your friend from her future? If Kayla, had known the answers to these questions, she would have saved herself some grief. But who knows, maybe… just maybe… what she is feeling is not regret, rather excitement.
On the Inside Wanting Out proves there is a dark side of love that does not discriminate. In the closest bonds, every man is still out for themselves. And even when hope is destroyed, trust is ruined, faith is tested and alliances are broken, what is meant to be will be….

Lakaii Richardson is the fiercely imaginative mind behind the On the Inside series, known for weaving raw emotion, complex relationships, and unapologetic truths into every page.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Lakaii has been creating stories since the third grade, but it wasn’t until a life-altering bout with depression and a therapist’s nudge to “write it out” that she began taking her gift seriously. Still, the fire didn’t fully ignite until corporate layoffs forced her to bet on herself.

Lakaii writes for the woman who’s been hurt but never counted out, for the ones healing out loud. Her books are a bold blend of urban romance and psychological depth, offering readers a story and a mirror.

The most recent release, Rearranged, dives into love, loyalty, and the lies that threaten both.

The fifth and final installment of the On the Inside series, Endgame, drops in late 2025.

Girl! Why did you make us wait so long??!! Even though I’m mad at you for the wait! the sequel was so worth it! Wow, wow, wow! First of all, I want Tia gone! She is the worse! Sadly, I love her too, though! I just hope I never meet a friend like her. I’m so over Kayla!! She is in the same bucket with Tia now. Kennedi, my heart aches for her and I’m proud that she found the strength to chose herself! That’s so hard to do when you want your family to work. Eric, never thought I would say this, but I feel sad for him too. Bottom line, this book is amazing. Read it in a day! A wonderful follow up to the first book and I would recommend it to anyone! Will there be a part 3? If so, Please don’t make us can’t wait for years!
