Fred Smith had too much baggage to participate directly in this biography but read as if he had due to exceptional work by the author in tracking down sources and doing the research. Overall an incredibly well written story, glad I was able to find a copy via the library network.

I decided not to read this book after discovering that it wasn't an authorized 'biography'. I have a difficult time reading these because I'd really rather read it from the perspective of those involved.
