I read this as a reflection during the long Psalms of Pascha week. No surprise, but the services complimented this book perfectly. Through Christ’s last words, Pope Shenouda III is able to reveal so much about Our Lord’s true nature. Definitely a must read for Holy Week!

A deeply convicting and thoughtful work. It made me appreciate Christ’s work on the cross and the narrative of his action for me. The chapter on “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me” was particularly moving.
