What happens when a popular dating blogger meets a famous dating dud?

Ben Holmes has never had much success with the ladies, but that’s okay with him. As a forward for the Dallas Comets hockey team, he has a great life—and an awesome bachelor pad and sweet ride. Finding a girlfriend isn’t high on Ben’s list of priorities until his meddling, match-making teammates finally persuade him into signing up for an online dating site.

Lennox Jones has everything she could possibly want—except a fulfilling, serious relationship. She is the queen of worst first dates and horrible hookups. Her horror stories have been making her friends laugh and cringe for years, and now she’s telling all as the anonymous author of Sweet, Sassy, and Single, a blog detailing all of her dating disasters and rocky relationships.

When Lennox gets an earnest message from a new match with no profile picture or description, she’s ready to swipe left. However, she takes pity on him when he admits his inexperience with online dating. Ben may be out of practice, but he’s everything Lennox has dreamed of. There’s attraction, chemistry, and potential between them, but each have been keeping a secret that might prevent a relationship from starting before it can begin.

Will Ben and Lennox confront the truth and work it out? If so, maybe he has taken her on her last first date!

Jaymee Jacobs is a USA Today best-selling author, and author of the Dallas Comets series. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in English literature and a psychology minor.

Her books have the same two themes: hockey and the "millennial" experience. The first is because she's a die-hard fan (particularly of the Pittsburgh Penguins). The second is because she felt that there weren't any books to which she could personally relate. So she began to write the stories she wanted to read. Her books spotlight those in the up-and-coming generation as they navigate this new era of ubiquitous technology, online dating etiquette, and what it means to "adult."

When she's not writing, you'll find Jaymee curating her cats' Instagram account, listening to true crime podcasts, scrolling through Pinterest for fructose-free recipes, or yelling at the TV during Penguins games.

I am a Dallas Comets virgin, but sports is my absolutely favorite to read. When Jaymee asked if I wanted to, THERE WAS NO PASSING THIS UP! I'm soooo glad I didn't!!! As a person who is back in the dating world this story gave me so many laughs and even a little hope LOL.

I adored Lennox in this story. She is the girl who just can't get it right when it comes to her love life. So many of us have been there, that it is 100% relatable. I also love, as a blogger, that she blogs! I thought the blog posts were HYSTERICAL! More than anything, I loved how real Lennox was. She was your normal, typical even, young adult female. She seemed to have the perfect amount of everything that someone like Ben needed. Then we have Ben, who is the complete opposite of what you might think of when thinking of a bachelor hockey star. It was SO refreshing! These two were both so perfect because they were so down to earth. I love how he was so oblivious to online dating and really just kind of stumbled his way to meeting Lennox. I loved Lennox and Ben together so much. I loved their banter, how they truly wanted to know each other, it was such a honest way to get to know someone.

There were also some ups and downs with them, which was so great, because again, normal! I really loved seeing as much as we did about Ben's team. They were going through so many issues, so it was really neat to see the inner workings of a team. Especially a team that is going through trouble. You always wonder what's going on inside the heads of players and in the locker room when a team is in a rough patch. I love so much when the sport is a real part o the book, a big part of the book, and Jaymee did that so perfectly! I really loved seeing the interactions between the players too, they made for great secondary characters. Charlie was also an amazing secondary character. His role was pretty big in keeping Lennox sane and being her voice of reason.

Reading this makes me desperately want to go back and read the others!!

I am an avid reader and my favorite type of romance book to read is good old hockey romance. Every time I am looking for another book to read the first thing I do is search for romance books with the subject of NHL. My point being why I have never heard of this author and where has she been hiding. This book was incredible. From the moment I started reading this book I was put under a spell. I could not put it down. The story line and the characters just pulled me in. Both Ben and Lennox wanted to settle down and start a relationship where both people were in it for the long haul. Lennox was afraid of being hurt and Ben was afraid of being used. They meet on an online dating app. Honestly from the moment they started talking I just knew they had lots of chemistry. When they meet they both keep secrets and are not completely honest with each other. What will happen when the truth comes out? Will they both be able to let go of their insecurities and fight for each other? Pick up this book and find out the answer to those questions. I am going to go back and read the other books in this series because I have now found myself another author to read. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book by Jaymee that I have read and I am so glad that I did! I love hockey romances! Trying to find Mr. Right on a dating site was becoming so exhausting for Lennox, she about gave it up! But one more intriguing entry had her try once again. She is so glad that she did! Ben had trouble finding Mrs. right because he was a professional hockey player. Everyone he seemed to date was only interested in him because of his fame or worth. So when he met Lennox he omitted part of the truth so that he could see if he could find someone who liked him for him and not his professional status. These two were drawn together from the beginning. The started out just talking on the phone and then they started getting coffee. They were so attuned to each other that things started to bloom between them. But of course the secrets they had finally came to light. But thankfully that didn’t stop them from their gut feeling and decided to give their relationship a chance. I really enjoyed this book and hope to read more of Jayne’s books!

Dump and Chase is the fifth book in the Dallas Comets hockey romance series by Jaymee Jacobs. They can be read as standalone novels, but I personally loved reading them in order.
Dump and Chase is about dating blogger Lennox who falls for Ben when he messages her on a dating site that he has been persuaded to join.

Reading Ben and Lennox's love story was incredibly heart-warming. Lennox's blog was hilarious and she is a very relatable heroine. Ben, cautious from women being only attracted to his fame and paycheck, was sweet and attentive - the rare 'needle' in the 'dating site haystack' when Lennox was about to give up on love. Jaymee's stories are always a fun read for an exciting romantic journey to happily ever after. With this being the fifth book in the series, the Dallas Comets couples are becoming like family to me and I can't wait for the next Comets book! I loved this book!

A wonderful hockey sweet contemporary romance. Ben is a Gentile giant who is looking for love. Lennox has been having problems finding true love, until they connected. This is a nice easy read, I especially loved Ben’s character.

I have loved all the books in this series and this one didn't disappoint either. All about the trials of dating and what can happen when you are a professional athlete or a regular person, then add in online dating and hockey action and more fun begins. Great read!!!

more than any I've read in awhile, this book seems up to date and on trend and I loved the way the story played out.... it didn't read like Jaymee was rushing the story but letting it unfold and happen which let the reader feel as if we were getting to know the characters along the way....often times a book will seems to speed up toward the end (as if there are only so many pages and the writer needed to finish) ...again I don't find this with Jaymee's writing

This was a cute story about Lennox who works in a lawyers office as an assistant and writes a blog on all her dating disasters. She decides to go on a dating site hoping to find a nice guy but usually finds duds! Then along comes Ben the gentle giant or as she calls him Mr. Big and Tall. Ben is a professional hockey player with the Dallas Comets and hasn't ever had much luck with the ladies but that's ok. Then his teammates/girlfriends decide to help him out and persuade him to sign up on this dating website. He does but leaves most of the questions blank.

Lennox gets a message from Ben and she's pretty sure it's another dud. But she continues to chat back and forth and finally decides to meet. They have a lot in common and can talk for hours but each has secrets. Can they make this work?

I liked the book, but thought the ending was a little rushed.

I loved this hero, he was wonderful! I had a little bit more issues with the heroine. I don’t know what was so appealing about her that the hero was instantly smitten. I found her a bit difficult at times and her reaction after the mix up was over the top. I think what she kept from him was way worse, but she couldn’t see it that way. Everything had to go her way, she could only think about herself and wasn’t very empathized with others. It was great to read about the whole dating struggle before meeting Mr. Perfect though. And Ben was perfect! 4 stars because of him. Sometimes the book was repeating itself, for instance why Ben didn’t tell her he was a pro athlete. That was unnecessary because we were already told that multiple times. The sex scenes weren’t that good, so best to skip those. If they were faded to the background I would’ve enjoyed this book even better.

Lennox is searching for love online and hasn't had any luck so she blogs about her rotten dating experiences. Ben sees all his teammates pairing up and is getting harassed by them about his love life so he decides to check out an online site. He see Lennox's profile and messages her. They start communicating which leads to a date. Ben wants her to know him, not get ideas or an impression based on his occupation. :Lennox doesn't think anything about her blog, it's just a way to blow off steam about bad dates. Needless to say, secrets are discovered and need to be worked through to get to that HEA. I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I received a copy of this book in exchange or an honest review. Dump and Chase is a light, refreshing read.

It was very refreshing to read a book about a couple who find each other and just get along. So many romance books have one of the characters hating the other or fighting the connection. Lennox is tired of online dating and bad first dates and Ben is tired of his friends hooking him up with girls who just want to be with a professional athlete. The two meet and hit it off with mutual likes (and acceptance of their dislikes), beliefs, and honesty. Well, maybe not complete honesty, but what’s a love story without a little conflict?

Ben plays for the Dallas comets and his friends keep trying ot setup him up with women that are only interested in him because he plays hockey.. When he joins a dating app and puts nothing about himself in the profile not even a picture he doesn't expect anyone to talk to him . He finds Lennox's picture and decides to go for it and she answers. As they get to know each other via messages and talking he finds himself really liking her.. When she finds out he is a hockey player and hid that will it be the end ?
