Compound #3

Coming Home

All Doms expect submission. This Master demands more…

Having lost the man who was her world to the war in Afghanistan, Talia doesn’t believe she’ll ever find love again. But as time passes, she finds she not only craves, but needs the erotic release of complete submission. When The Compound offers her a position as a staff slave—owned by all—she accepts. Getting her needs met without the expectations of a relationship seems like the perfect solution.

Though Ethan enjoys his job as a trainer at a private BDSM club in Miami, he’s itching for a change. When he’s asked to start up some new training programs for The Compound, an ultra-exclusive facility in New York, he jumps at the chance.

Drawn to the strong, quiet submissive assigned to serve as his assistant, he thrills at putting her through her paces within the confines of his course. When an acquaintance lures Talia into a dangerous situation, it’s up to Ethan to rescue her, not only from that man’s clutches, but from her own fears… And if Ethan has to conquer a few of his own along the way…so be it.

Coming Home is Book 3 of The Compound Trilogy. While this is a stand-alone novel, your experience will be enhanced if you read the books in order.

The last story in this trilogy is an emotional one, with a very satisfying end.
One that adds another layer,as Talia is a grieving widow thinking she’ll never love again.
Ethan is visiting the Compound as a trainer, for the period of three months,or so he starts out.
You guessed it,they were made for eachother,but....
The road to finding eachother,ánd embracing eachother as Master and slave, that takes a while.

Talia only experienced the Master/slave dynamic with her late husband, and he imprinted on her his pleasure was the only thing that mattered.
If a scene was extra painful, she was to endure silently, and she was used to checking out if things got too intense.....
Ethan is very different, and he wants her with him, wants her to learn to fly.
With Talia being a house slave,he asks Miriam for permission to make her available exclusively to him.
And as they work together more, their connection deepens, making Talia feel something she never expected to feel again.....was it love? Really?

A friend of her late husband calls to tell her he has some of his stuff, and would she like to have it?
That guy.....when they met,i instantly got the creeps.....and rightfully so!
Talia was lucky to have Ethan looking out for her,i can tell you that!

What happens,you ask?
I dare you to find out,and find out if she manages to fly while you’re at it!

Talia had been married and widowed to a soldier. He learned everything he knew from the internet about BDSM. He taught her to always do for him and never for herself. She went to work at the Compound where she caught the eye of Master Ethan and her whole life changed. Great end to the trilogy.

“COMING HOME”, is the story of Master Ethan and his sub Talia. This is a rather a long tale of how their story begins, twists and continues on. Not to give too much away, but one of the twists will make you hold your breath. I did not see it coming and had me wondering if our author was going to bring things to a good or bad ending. Our author has such a way of making you part of the story and taking you along for the up and down ride. I have read each of the three books in this series and each one is better and better and makes you wish this place called the “Compound” was real and you could go there for training, well done Ms Claire Thompson my hats off too you.

Another wonderful addition to the author's The Compound series.
As always with the author's Compound books, the reader is treated to erotic BDSM scenes & interactions ranging from luscious thuddy floggings to wax play & on to edgier& more nerve wracking scenes. All these erotic delights are perfectly sprinkled (IMO) throughout the story as wonderful enticements to spice up a lovely tale of 2 people finding each other.
I love how the author is able to take the reader along a journey of growth and/or enlightenment with the main characters. In this story, Talia (h), an erotic masochistic submissive & Master Ethan (H), a Master temporarily at The Compound to implement his training program.
Talia is a young widow, her beloved husband & Master, Tom, was killed in action in the Middle East. Bereft & feeling completely unanchored, wanting to remain emotionally detached since his death, Talia finds her way to The Compound where she seems to perfectly finish their slave training to the point she is offered a position there as a staff slave. And this suits Talia perfectly: sheltered within The Compound with those sharing a BDSM lifestyle, but not owned by any one Master. She is a slave to any & all of the Masters allowing her to keep her heart & emotions sealed up ensuring they aren't given to any other than her deceased husband & Master Tom. But Talia has never reached 'subspace', she doesn't 'embrace' the erotic pain she craves merely 'powers' her way through it via her mental technique of retreating deep into a white blanket of nowhere. And none of the Masters at The Compound ever notice Talia's 'escape'.
Master Ethan is visiting The Compound from Florida for a few months & then expected to return. But that was before his immediate & intense connection with the beautiful sub Talia. Master Ethan is a firm stern & exacting Master, but he is also sensitive & aware of the emotions that drive subs, especially the seemingly 'perfect' Talia. And Master Ethan is the only one who notices that Talia is not 'flying into subspace' but shutting herself down dangerously during intense physical scenes & refusing to 'safeword'.
Master Ethan & Talia are both engaging characters, I was drawn to their electric & immediate mutual romance but even more, drawn to Master Ethan's firm but gentle & determined search into what was causing Talia's attempts to experience subspace to fail, why she shut down & most importantly, why she wouldn't communicate distress or safeword during intense sessions.
I loved how Master Ethan was firm but thoughtful & gentle, not only with his romancing of an emotionally wary Talia, but how he worked to help her find what she needed & wanted & to help her understand that there are multiple paths in their chosen lifestyle. That a path she shared with Master Tom did not necessarily mean it was the path needed with someone else. Master Ethan was loving & protective of Talia, & Talia found with Master Ethan a sweet physically satisfying relationship, sexually & otherwise, she hadn't before experienced.
But Master Ethan is only able to show the way, to stand beside Talia, to support her, Talia is the one who must dig deep within herself to not only find answers but acknowledge truth & make the changes required for her & Master Ethan's relationship to fully progress.
This story is mainly a wonderful tale of 2 people finding their 'one' but also a journey to inner peace & acceptance of one's need to adapt. There is a bit of darkness with a secondary character, some low level angst related to the dark situation, erotic BDSM encounters & old friends from previous books by the author. I truly did enjoy this one, it is a heartwarming romance I will be rereading.

Coming Home, the journey continues.  The long awaited third book in The Compound trilogy does not disappoint.  As the title says, it really does feel like coming home.  Enjoyed connecting with some of the original characters from The Compound.  This place is built of a family with strong connections.  Even though they aren't blood related they are family non the less.  Each looking out for the other.  As you read through this journey you will find yourself drawn into this community as you are actually part of this story.

Talia sought out The Compound after her Husband/Dom was killed in the war.  She does not believe she will ever find a connection or love with another Dom.  Talia is a Submissive,  but has never been able to find that place where Subs fly.

Ethan is a visiting Dom from a Miami BDSM Club where he is a trainer.  He is at The Compound to start a new training program for Doms and couples.  Realizing early on that he needs a Sub as an assistant.  Talia wanders into one of his training sessions to deliver towels and is asked to assist.  He makes an immediate connection with her and gets permission to use Talia as his Sub for his training sessions.

Talia ends up suffering a terrible experience away from The Compound by an abusive bully that calls himself a Dom.  This event was nonconsenual and Talia was not able to escape.  Ethan swoops into to save her.  This is where their journey takes a turn.  Will Talia be able to trust and find love again?  Is Ethan's caring and compassion enough to get her there?  You will have to read this thrilling heartwarming story for yourself to see how the journey ends.  If you haven't read the first two books in this trilogy, I recommend you start with The Compound to get the full experience.

Claire Thompson is a gifted author who writes about the good and the bad in the BDSM lifestyle.  I never hesitate in buying any of her books.  They maybe intense, but always deliver a feel good ending.  I am sad to say goodbye to this series but look forward to what is next.

So much fun to return to The Compound and visit all the people there. It’s kind of like Friends except with BDSM. There are two couples there that feature in this book, who were in the previous books. Really nice to see how they’re doing.
This particular story is just plain sweet. I don’t really know why, unless it’s because of how Master Ethan and Talie interact. She is so docile and quiet, and very wounded. He is so calm and thoughtful and kind. They are a perfect couple from first sight. She thinks she can’t ever give her heart away again, so she joins the Compound as a general slave. She still strongly feels the need to serve and submit, yet doesn’t want the emotional intimacy that comes with a relationship. She thinks she is safe from the emotions by making sure she isn’t owned by just one master. Enter Master Ethan. Immediate connection and attraction between both. Let the journey begin.
There are many types of BDSM and relationships, and the one Master Ethan believes in is caring, sharing and emotional connections Just what she doesn’t want.
As always, Claire does an outstanding job of making sure the readers can follow along and understand the whys and ways of BDM just by her story telling.
This is a couple you just want to grab and hug.

Book 3 of the Coming Home-Compound Trilogy is an excellent read! This book can be summed up in some many ways but the one quote I found the most memorable is "But there's no manual or whatever on how to people choose to express themselves in the lifestyle." I love this book because we meet Master Ethan and Talia at the Compound. Master Ethan visiting from Miami travels to the Compound to run two new training programs and he is immediately captivated by our heroine, Talia. A young widow, Talia experienced the lifestyle with her late husband and is now employed as a staff slave at the Compound. The chemistry between Ethan and Talia is magnetic and you are rooting for them to mutually share their feelings throughout the story. This book has moments of suspense, intensity, tears, joy, and sexiness! But what we readers take away (other than the fabulously written romance) is that different takes on the lifestyle are not wrong and trying a new one can be just as satisfying. Lastly, learning how to fly takes practice.

Claire never forgets that people are complicated. Talia carries a burden of pain and not all of it is from the loss of her first Master and husband. When she meets Ethan sparks, and occasionally flames fly, but she won't be the only one to change as the relationship grows. I really appreciate that Claire makes clear the importance of consent in all relationships. She gives us a broad range of characters to enjoy and watch grow; you really feel yourself entering the world where they exist, interact and grow through their interactions - well most of them. Like the real world, she has a couple of folk who are just too selfish and self-absorbed to really understand the BDSM world they claim to live in. The only real problem was that the story was over too soon. I can only hope that we'll be returned to The Compound in the future and catch up with Talia and Ethan and all their friends and peers.

I LOVED "Coming Home" by Claire Thompson. She is a great BDSM erotica writer. "Coming Home" is the 3rd in the Compound series, and while it is a standalone M/f erotic romance, your reading will be enhanced by reading the first 2 Compound series. You won't want to miss all the delicious sex and chemistry in the earlier books. I enjoy books like this with a depth of emotion, magnetic M/f chemistry, & lots of smokin' hot BDSM sex. In "Coming Home" I found the thrilling BDSM sex, intimately described, extremely detailed, responsibly portrayed. The H/h attraction, chemistry, then love is obvious, palpable and realistic. She is smart, strong, thoughtful and relate-able. He is a sexy, caring, pushy Dom. As they grow through their experiences so does the love and their devotion. Great claiming ceremony with the HEA.

I really enjoyed reading Ethan and Talia’s story! Ethan didn’t think he was missing anything in life, but after coming for a short stint at the Compound, he is instantly attracted to the quiet sub. Talia has had more than required heartache in life so far, but she is aware enough to know what she needs. While she is embracing the lifestyle as a sub, she has no plans to be involved with one person. Then she meets Ethan.

There is so much growth that happens between these two. Neither Ethan or Talia fight their attraction, but working out the details of their relationship, their Master/slave dynamic, takes some time. There are some major happenings that cause them to rely on each other. They need to break from the molds they have, and accept what they mean to each other

Stark in some spots, warm in others, the journey was a joy to take with this Dom and sub

This is the third book in the series of three. This can be read as a standalone but would be better if you read them in order.

The story of Talia and Ethan. Ethan came to The Compound to train other Dom/Domme's along with their subs. This is where he meets Talia who is a house slave.

I enjoyed this story and there were a couple of twists that I didn't really see coming which I enjoyed.

Some of the kinks in this series are not my kinks. When I read about the blood play or the breath play I got anxious which I didn't like. Luckily these were small parts.

In the first book you meet Sam and at the end of the second book it seems that Sam is attracted to Anthony. In the third book they are together and it feels that I missed a book. I would have liked to hear their story as well as George and Sophie.

The author is very good and I can't wait to read more from her.

Coming Home, in my opinion is the best book in the Compound Trilogy. The author has written a story that keeps you engrossed from start to finish, and you can't help but root for the heroine and her happy ending.
Talia is a young widow who was submissive to her master/husband for many years. After her loss (his death), she's at a crossroads and becomes a house slave at the Compound. Soon she is paired with the new trainer, Master Ethan and he takes her under his whip...err wing.
Ethan teachers Talia to overcome the walls she has built up and vows to help her reach the "flying" state of bliss. If only Talia learns to stop "vacating the premises". Make sure to read this book to discover just what that means.
Coming Home is an entertaining read that's well written and an awesome addition to your library.

I enjoyed returning to The Compound, a unique establishment, serving the needs of a select community, where the inhabitants create their own family, their way. This is Talia’s story. Talia was ‘trained’ by her late husband, but not quite right to fit the safe, sane and consensual mandate.

I really enjoyed the beautiful love story intertwined with the re-training of Talia. I appreciate how the author does not shy away from all aspects of the lifestyle, good and bad.

Coming Home includes a voyeuristic peek into the lives of other Compound residents, bringing to mind their previous stories to add flavour and extra depth. There is a bit of drama to add suspense from outside sources that interferes with Ethan and Talia’s lives, bringing them closer, solidifying their unique bond.

This is the third book in the Compound trilogy and as with the other books in the trilogy it is another home run from Claire Thompson. This book is about the relationship between Ethan and Talia and we get to see Alexis, Paul, and others compound members again! Ethan is a visiting Dom and is secure in his knowledge of the BDSM community and knows what kind of relationship he wants with his sub. Talia thinks she just wants to be a house slave after losing her husband/dom. After meeting Ethan the sparks fly and with help from Ethan and other members of the Compound 'family' Talia learns to fly. I love Claire's writing style as I feel like I'm on the characters journey with them. I hated to see the book and the trilogy end.

This is an excellent follow up book in the Compound series. New characters mixed with familiar ones makes for an entertaining reading experience. Without realizing it, Ethan has been drifting in his BDSM life for a while. When he takes a temporary position at the Compound he discovers what he may have been missing: a new home with like-minded people who quickly becomes not only friends but family. He also finds the beautiful, unowned staff slave Talia. It's readily apparent that there's a spark between them but there's also an aura of sadness and aloofness about her. Learning her history gives Ethan insight on several levels. Building trust and retraining her becomes paramount if they want to have a relationship.

This was a beautiful love story. Talia had loved her husband but after he was killed she was lost and it soon becomes apparent that their dynamic was flawed in that she didn’t fully submit. Ethan is immediately drawn to Talia and is intuitive to all her emotions and w ants to help her. When Talia goes through a terrifying experience, it is Ethan that knows she is in trouble and ultimately saves her.

It was so nice to see Paul and Alexis again and it was Alexis that helped Talia understand what Ethan was looking for. This is Talia’s journey and it was a remarkable one with a really happy conclusion in every respect.

We return to the Compound in this book, but you can read it as a standalone without any problems. I haven’t read the other books, but I had no trouble following the story.

I enjoyed this book from start to finish and read this one sitting. The story of Ethan and Talia is wonderful to read. What I enjoyed about this book was how it showed the different types of relationship and as long as there is consent there is no wrong or right way. It all depends on the couple and what works for them. It shows a multitude of different plays, my favorite was the Shibari scene and all the emotions that played part.

It was a beautiful journey.

***TRIGGER WARNING***

Although I hear Amazon did not let this publish as I read it, I want you to be aware it has "triggers" as I read it.

Talia is staggering through life after losing her husband and Dom to war in Afghanistan. Trying to find herself she enrolls in training at the Compound, after completing the training, she received an offer to stay on as a staff slave. She has never experienced an undeniable attraction to anyone in her life not even her husband/Dom. And then, Ethan shows up. He is not staying, only here for a few months and then he will be gone. Why is she having such strong emotions toward him?

I always enjoy my time at The Compound! Ms. Thompson introduces us to Ethan, a visiting Dom, there to develop new programs for The Compound, and Talia, a young widow in the life, who feels she will never find love again. When their eyes meet… something sparks. It's not long before Ethan is asking for Talia's assistance with his training sessions. There's excitement when Talia is missing from the compound. And, that entire day, Ethan is looking all over for Talia. You'll have to read to find out what happened! Something is developing between these two, or was there from the start. But, Ethan is just a visiting Dom! Thoroughly enjoyed this book. (Several intense scenes.)

This story starts out slowly and builds in intensity. I wanted to like Talia's husband but all I could think about was what a poser he was to call himself a dom who knew nothing about the incredible gift he was given by his wife. The connection that Ethan builds with Talia made shivers run thru me as he romanced her in such a powerful and stirring way. He connected with her inner soul and it was beautiful. This story was sweet, inspiring and very sexy.

I read and reviewed a copy of this book.

Will Ethan return to the compound to be with Talia?
This is my 6th book by the author and I love an author who writes in dual point of view. Ethan asks Talia to help him with his training session with a couple at the Compound and soon asks Miriam if Talia can be available for his training sessions. What starts out as just an attraction, quickly becomes something more for the two. But what will happen when Ethan’s 3 month contract ends at the Compound? You have to read to find out and will enjoy the steamy read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this 3rd and final book in this series with great characters, romance and intrigue. Her love had been killed in Afghanistan and she believed she would never love again. She was surviving as a sex slave at The Compound, an exclusive BDSM club. A new trainer comes and they fall for each other, but there are complications. The ending is great. Claire Thompson saved the best for last!! This third book in the Compound Trilogy was by far my favorite and I loved the other 2 books. Ethan and Talia's story was at times heart wrenching, super sexy, and everything in between. There was a surprise twist of drama I loved...this book had it all. I will miss all the folks at the Compound and hope to have a visit there again in the future.

It was so lovely to return to the compound and visit with old friends. The ending of this story is fabulous. The whole book is a well written and fabulous story. Ms. Thompson is a wonderful storyteller and this book is a shining example of that gift. Talia and Master Ethan are a great couple. It was so fun seeing Talia come so far in her submission.

I loved to return to the Compound again and to meet both old ’friends’ as well as new ones.
Talia and Ethan’s story made my heart warm.
I know that it’s supposed to be an end to this triology, but I can see at least one more story here.

Oh no, this is it! This is the last book of the Compound trilogy!
I will dearly miss the people Ms Thompson, the Grande Dame of BDSM, created within the nucleus of that haven. The different stories all pack an emotional punch, relatable characters, and show a deep understanding of the community described.
Although they are "just" stories, I can loose myself in her books for hours of spine tingling delights. I always catch myself slowing down reading at about the halfway point because I don't want to leave places like the Compound.
Fortunately this author has an abundant cache of stories she is only too happy to distribute among connoisseurs of the genre!
Go on!
Immerse yourself!
