The third in a series of books written with a YA audience in mind, Watch Me is a solid story that deals with important topics (such as kindness vs. bullying, PTSD, and even health challenges) with sensitivity and insight. The story moves along, drawing the reader in and the characters are well developed and sympathetic. I really enjoyed this book and will be passing it along to my teenaged daughters, along with the first two books in the series.

A well written book. This is a story that really catches the reader's attention in the first chapter. The narration makes you feel like you are part of the story. Topics covered were fantastic for a young teen; bullying, mental health, relations between friends, with and between parents, standing up for others, courage, anxiety (parents and kids). I could go on... it has so much real life in the plot line. Loved it! Highly recommended!!!

A fabulous book for kids with powerful social messages and endearing characters!

This book has a heap of heart and some seriously amazing characters who are punching above their weight when it comes to a social conscience. Hannah and her lovable friend Chip work hard to help to solve a mystery in a small town, involving a homeless man who is wrongly accused of a crime.

What I love about this book is how Hannah, the main character, can see things more clearly than the adults (which is often the case in real life too) - that it's better to trust people before we judge them, that it's better to be kind than selfish, and that everyone deserves a second chance.

The characters are wise beyond their years, and tempt you to join their journey, as they try to right the wrongs inflicted upon the town by all the adults with their various agendas.

A sweet book for kids with a fabulous message and plenty of talking points for schools and other groups. Although, I enjoyed reading this as an adult too. You could share this with the young people in your life and enjoy reading along with them. Highly recommended!

Be kind to each other.

I discovered this book without reading the first two in the series and feel it is solid as a stand alone as well. Hannah and Chip are likable characters, the kind you want to root for. When they befriend and then try to help a homeless man, it reminds me of another story where a 12-year-old boy helped a homeless man and started a movement (pay it forward). I love the altruistic heart of Hannah and her wanting to help because it's the right thing to do.

Hobbs sends a timely and powerful message of kindness to kids and adults alike--it's time we take notice. A great story!

Full of Important Messages

This book would be a wonderful add to a class reading list or school library. There are so many positive messages woven throughout. It reminds us of the importance of never assuming someone is "trouble" when they are down on their luck. It shows resourcefulness when Chip needs to earn money, finding (and keeping) a job walking dogs. The authors ability to make even the individual dog's personalities come to life is an extra special treat. I am sad to see this wholesome series come to an end.

Heartwarming

It's hard now a days to find a book our story that teaches a good lesson on compassion and tolerance.

This one had me in tears near the end and I was pleased with how it ended. It's a great story on how you shouldn't judge a person by their looks nor should you label them. Hannah and Chip, the good guys they are, were determined to prove that point.

Excellent pacing and a truly heartwarming story involving friendship and understanding.

A great story about standing up for the underdog

I highly recommend this book. It is well written and I enjoyed reading about Hannah and Chip as they work hard to find out the truth about a stranger in town who is being bullied. Is he as bad as the town officials would have everyone believe? Hannah doesn't think so, but how will she show the town?

Morals and values, kids who do it right

I love the way Chip and Hannah always fight to do the right things, no matter how unpopular or how much trouble they get into. Some of the things they did were dangerous, and I am glad they didn't get into trouble. I love that they took time to understand another person. We judge people so many times, without walking a step in their shoes. Sometimes we need to learn from kids. Waiting for more from the author.

This story takes place during the summer and finds Chip and Hannah trying to solve the mystery surrounding newcomer Ben. I think it's a great story to get middle grade readers thinking about things like bullying, theft, homelessness, illness, and making ends meet.
